photoblog image Yodel Boy

Yodel Boy

At the end of our street in Amsterdam is the Johnny Jordaan Plein (Plaza) where there are 4 statues of famous Amsterdamers. One of them is of Manke Nelis (1909-1993) who was a Dutch folk vocalist called the Little Yodel Boy.   He also played the guitar, bass, drums, and piano.

[Today Donica and I fly home to Atlanta from New York City.  Soon I'll start posting pics of our week's vacation there.]

Great perspective, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Deb. smile
I do like the angle of the shot. I knew you'd meet yourself coming backwards ! When are you going to get your pilots license ?
Ginnie Hart: HA! You make me laugh, Johnny. grin (I'm now back in Atlanta!)
Hi Ginnie, I just admire you for all of your traveling. smile This picture speaks to my heart. I took viola lessons when I was young, and my teacher played the cello for the local symphonic orchestra. I love the tones of this image too.
Ginnie Hart: I love all the stringed instruments, Kay, even though I only played "at" a ukelele when I was young. I think the cello and string bass would be fun to play! smile

I feel very lucky to be in a situation where I can travel so much. I love it!

You do like to be on the move don't you? I like the treatment you've given this
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Paul, I DO like to be on the move. Traveling around does seem to suit me. smile Thanks for your comment.
I hope you didnt pull aneck or back muscle on this one. I love it.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I have a bum left knee, Busola, so if anything is affected when I stoop down it's that! Glad you like it. smile

The smoothness of the bronze goes well with the filigree of the tree blossoms. Nice one. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ruth. smile

That's a good position you've taken. It's like watching him on a stage.
