photoblog image The Nose Knows

The Nose Knows

When I walked from Victoria Station in London last Friday to our hotel, I passed Buckingham Palace and just had to take pics...while keeping an eye on my suitcase.

It wasn't until I transferred my pics that I saw the nose job!  Since 1911 Victoria has been sniffing out many a visitor who has gazed upon her.  After all those years, I'm quite sure I'd need a new nose as well!

Ginnie Hart: It totally shocked me when I saw it, Dafredo. It DOES seem unreal. I wonder if they just did it recently?
Oh, how interesting. What a great photo.
Ginnie Hart: It IS interesting, Karen. I never even noticed it till I uploaded it. Thanks for your comment.

That nose does look out of place. Someone should get their money back on that job.
Ginnie Hart: I wonder if it's just a matter of quick time before it'll blend right in???
It seems like there is a mask on the face with the nose tearing out tongue
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it does, Thomas, now that you say it! smile
Ha, Thomas is right! Are they practicing to fix the Sphinx? tongue
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, who knows. It kinda makes me want to find out all about it--when it was done and why it wasn't made to blend in.
Heheheh... Nice one! That nose job reminds me of Michael Jackson's nose falling off... smile
Ginnie Hart: We will NEVER compare Michael Jackson to any Queen of England! Oh my, No! But I wonder if her nose did "fall off" like his!

Ginnie Hart: I wonder if it's funny to the Royal Family or if they even know about it?

This really is funny. You and your camera got some nice detail.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, sweetie. Do you think the Royal Family has seen this? (I don't mean my pic, of course, but her nose!)
Funny good picture, in competition vs "the sphinx"
Ginnie Hart: Hmmm. I'm gonna have to look up the sphinx since this is the second comment on it! smile
Nice catch Ginnie. smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Sarthak. smile
You're right Ginnie that nose does look a little out of place!
Ginnie Hart: Makes you wonder what it's all about, doesn't it!
Very funny. Of all the people to get a nose job! Very amusing!
Ginnie Hart: I sure hope she's not turning over in her grave over it. I don't know anything about her personality. Hopefully she's had a great laugh at her own expense.
le nez est si ├ętrange! mais c'est tr├Ęs beau
Ginnie Hart: Strange but beautiful is right, O-P. Thanks.

I'm with Thomas LOL hilarious... it feels wrong for making fun of statues of famous people, but hell, when it comes to royals, I'm up for it. tongue
Ginnie Hart: Well, I certainly don't want to laugh AT her, since I want her to have all the respect she deserves. But it sure makes me wonder what it's all about!

Oh my! If it wasn't a statue they would probably sue the surgeon. wink
Funny picture, Ginnie! grin
Ginnie Hart: I'm hoping she is getting quite a laugh over it herself! smile

Any clue about what the original nose looked like? Maybe Vicky needed some plastic surgery!
Ginnie Hart: For some reason, Dani, I think the nose is "accurate" in shape. I seem to recall that that's what it looked like. But it does make you wonder what the "cover up" is all about.
smile Nice one
Great detail
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Magnus!

Vicky's nose job looks like someone is hiding in a statue suit!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Maybe you're right, Louis. smile
What a great picture, really funny smile Looks so unreal that I think I will have a walk down to Victoria and check myself!
Ginnie Hart: So, Monika, does that mean you live near this fine woman? Just think, we could have met up. smile
i have always been intrigued by the monarchy.our beautiful city was named after said queen. i like the angle in this shot and the mono works well. nice nose job!
Ginnie Hart: It's funny, Genevieve, but I never put 2 and 2 together about your city. DUH. We were in Uclulet last October but never made it to Victoria. Hopefully we will one of these days/years.
That's funny - great nose job. I like the tones in the pic as well smile
Ginnie Hart: I decided to add sepia tones to the otherwise drab pic I took, so thanks for your comment, Aksel. The more I look at this pic, the funnier it becomes. smile
lol, this is a good one...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Sam. smile
