Niki's Hannover Nanas
Tomorrow I fly back to Atlanta, so this is my last pic of this Hannover landmarks' series. Appropriately, I'm saving the best for last!
If you remember my Niki de Saint Phalle sculptures' series last December
(from our Atlanta Botanical Gardens), this is where it all started. Hannover was where I first heard of Niki, back in early 2005. She had given these 3 Nanas as a gift to the city in 1974.
It's hard to get all 3 Nanas in the same pic, but here they are at the end of the day back on January 15. The busy street that takes you to the New Town Hall
is on the right. The River Leine is on the left, in front of the Béguine Tower--another Hannover landmark that once was the strongest tower in the city's fortifications, first mentioned in 1357.
