An inviting archway to the outdoors and into the light! Stay safe and healthy as well, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Steven, on both counts.
Joli passage qui laisse entrevoir un beau décor.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine. It was an off-and-on rainy day then, just like today.
Thank you, Ginnie! You, too!
I love your image, with the gentle light filtering through.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. I'm paying special attention to what's happening in YOUR state these days!

Why do I feel you have shown us this fine image before...
Ginnie Hart: Hmmm. I have no idea, Ray, except for the fact that I do enjoy such arches like this all over the Netherlands?

An unsecured bike, there's trust here!
Ginnie Hart: Well, it's probably locked, Chris. I learned when I moved here that all bikes have built-in locks for the back wheel, making it inoperable without a key. The bike can still be stolen, of course, if picked up and carried away (which I have seen done only once in my 10+ years here, on a quiet Sunday morning).
I like these classic bikes that have more charm than sport bikes. Nice window also on a building with beautiful red bricks. Have a nice weekend Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Marie. I always love these archway scenes in the Netherlands.

This turned out very well, Ginnie. What a wonderful bike-Friday this is. This picture is so peaceful and that little birdie on the road is an extra.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Astrid. The birdie gives hope that we can dare venturing out.
Merci pour les conseils , prenez soin de vous aussi
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Claudine. We're all in this together.
A proper old fashioned bike. nice shot Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Proper, indeed, Bill! Thanks.

een schitterend doorkijkje Ginnie...

het nodigt uit om nog verder te gaan kijken..

een fijn en gezond weekend gewenst
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Willy. I have always loved the archways like this in the Netherlands.
Such a lonely feel to this shot ... nice gray textures on the wall the bike is leaning on. Enjoy the weekend! Be safe!
Ginnie Hart: Isolation has felt so lonely for many for so long, Ryan, so your "feel" seems most appropriate. Thank you.

The bike is so different to those seen in the UK. Most people here either ride mouton bikes or racing bikes with full kit like the teams in the Tour de France.
Ginnie Hart: Since most people own at least one bike in the Netherlands, Alan, mainly for everyday transportation instead of for sport, you can imagine why there's such a difference. Astrid has not only a "normal" around-town bike but a race bike as well, used for 2 entirely different purposes!
I will not be going anywhere anytime soon. I like how you framed this. Friendship
Ginnie Hart: That's probably important for you, Ruthie, so thank you for being careful.
This is a really nice picture Ginnie, the bike looks to be quite an old one with those high handlebars. We finally managed to have our first coffee and cakes whilst out this morning since March, it was almost like old times.
Ginnie Hart: Some places are opening up faster than others, Brian, I know. I'm glad you had a chance to get back to some semblance of normalcy.
An inviting photo Ginnie, the bike makes the shot I think.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
A lovely picture Ginnie with the light and shadow! Thank you for your wishes.....I hope you stay safe and healthy too smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Martin. So far so good.
nice view Ginnie... we are still in place and staying that way... so we are safe....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter, and good for you!
I think that most people here are ignoring the Government's attempts to get us out and about again!
Ginnie Hart: It sounds like "most people" are trying to be sensible then, Tom!

Looks like place where nuns could be staying - no sign of life.

In Amsterdam, you most likely won't see your bike again, if you left it unlocked. Someone like a student who is in a hurry, comes along and take the bike. The bike will get dumped into a canal, once it has reached the thieve's destination.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Louis, the bike is probably locked (a back wheel built-in lock that comes on most of these bikes), even though the bike can be picked up and carried off, if someone really wants it. But yes, in Amsterdam, bikes are an entirely different story!
Très chouette cette photo avec ses zones d'ombre et de lumière très marquées.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Pascale. I am always attracted to these darkened archways with light beyond.
That is absolutely beautiful. You certainly have a knack for finding wonderful scenes. Then perfectly composed and the light use is superb. The bicycle? Exquisite.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Michael. You know how to make my day! Thank you.
lovely mood!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Larry.
