No April Fools' Day

Keep washing your hands.

(Another painting by Lianne Sterk-van der Plaat in our Gorcums Museum, NL, back in January.

The glare on the top-left is NOT part of the painting but from the room when taking the photo.)

Another striking painting that looks so much like a photograph! Great find with nice color and patterns.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Steven. She really IS a realistic painter.

Very 3D look. Am going to try my hand at some still lifes this week.
Ginnie Hart: She really has it down to a science, Bonnie. Do show us what you come up with!

I recall one of those enamelled collenders from my childhood, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Ray. Those were the days. smile
Joli tableau avec cette passoire ancienne.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine. It brings back memories.
I'm a little surprised at the protective measures that are recommended to us about the virus because it's good to wash your hands often, but do you also think about washing dishcloths often because the virus is everywhere. I like your original and well composed image Ginnie. Have a nice day.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Marie, I DO think about things like the cloths we use for washing and/or drying. ALL THE ABOVE. We can't be too careful but then is enough ever enough in such times? For us, we try to stay sensible and not overreact. Let's see if that's enough.

But don't use a colander to do so..
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chris! (OUCH)

This is again one of Lianne's beautiful paintings. No Aprils Fools day this year, Ginnie just the cruel reality. This picture is a good reminder not to forget these days..
I had a towel just like that smile.
Ginnie Hart: The amount of time and concentration she spent on that towel alone blows the mind, Astrid. I love that she's been your friend since forever! Bedankt.
Toute une époque cette passoire et le torchon...sourires !
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Claudine. This brings back happy memories.

Such exquisite work. Oh to have hands a steady as those...
Ginnie Hart: I know, Alan. The more I look at that towel, the more I marvel at her handiwork.

a wonderful stilleven! I didn 't count how many times I am washing ng hands every day.
Ginnie Hart: I'm doing the normal washing of hands as always, Philine, but I rarely go out, so nothing much seems to have changed for me. Actually, while I can, I should go out every day and just walk!

Her realism is excellent, and yes, we will for ever more, probably
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Lisl. Please know my heart is with you these hard days!
wonderfully detailed painting Ginnie. Most of my photographs aren't this sharpgrin
Ginnie Hart: It still blows my mind, Bill, how exacting these painters can be!

JP
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, JP.
Prachtig geschilderd, dit stilleven
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein. She's an excellent artist!

Great painting Ginnie. Keep washing your hands but don’t forget to use cream to stop skin problems.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Chad, and yes...a word to the wise.

Amazing photographic painting. I don't think that colander will hold water for washing hands.
Ginnie Hart: She's a great painter, Louis...a friend of the family. But you're right about the colander.
So you just lost a month from your Museum Card? Are they going to compensate another month for you? Talk to them. smile Tell them it's not a joke. wink
Ginnie Hart: WOW, LC. That's a good point!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you.
Ha ha, I like the dish towel. My hands are clean.
Ginnie Hart: Good for you, Care. I trust you.
Le coeur n'est pas à  la plaisanterie, mais très très bien vu cette photo.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: No jokes this day, Pascale. We all need to pay attention. Merci.
I rather like this simple painting, a good reminder about the hand washing thingy.
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Brian!
A necessary reminder! Beautiful art. Friendship
Ginnie Hart: Of course, those of us who always wash our hands need no reminders, Ruthie, right?! Thanks.

een prachtig stilleven Ginnie, het lijkt wel een 3D werk te zijn

have a nice day
Ginnie Hart: Painters who can be so realistic, Willy, blow my mind. Thanks.
very nice composition Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Well, it's all Lianne's work, so she gets the glory! Thanks.
Such simple everyday items and yet really appealing, Ginnie smile
Ginnie Hart: I so agree, Martin. Thanks.

good advise so beautifully portrayed
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Sherri.
what a wonderful photo of an exceptional painting, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Ayush. Thank you.
hands clean, avoid touch, avoid people ... these are mad times we live in! mad i say!
Ginnie Hart: Mad, indeed, Ryan. But hopefully by the time it's over, EVERYONE will be in the habit of washing their hands!
i haven't left the house for three weeks now Ginnie... but i still wash my hands about 5 times a day...
Lianne's paintings are perfect... they look very much like a photograph... only better....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: We're all in the same boat, I think, Peter. Well, I leave the house maybe once or twice a week, and Astrid a bit more than that. But we're still basically in isolation even when out. Thanks.
It's an amazing painting - such a simple subject...
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes "simple" is the most powerful, Elizabeth, isn't it!
