Un magnifique endroit. On faisait de belles choses dans le temps.
Ginnie Hart: They definitely don't make them like this anymore, Martine. Merci.

Nothing seems to be broken, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: A few bruises, Ray, but you're right.

Italian Cathedrals have a certain something about them smile

WOW!!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, they do, Cherry!
the large figure of Christ on the dome makes this an easily identifiable feature of this cathedral, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Ayush.

What a gorgeous interior of this church!! The tones are splendid with a PoV that adds nice depth.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Steven.
Its a good shot Ginnie, easy to miss due to the ornateness ( I think thats a word smile )of the place.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frank. The cathedral was darker than normal that day, I'm sure, due to a huge downpour outside.
Oh beautiful job! The lighting is not good in there, I know - so kudos to you for that!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. We were in the middle of a horrendous downpour at the time, which added to the darkness inside. But we were still able to see the beauty.

That pulpit is the maddest example I've ever seen!
Ginnie Hart: I know, Chris. It would swallow my preacher dad alive!

A wonderful view of this Cathedral, Ginnie. I remember there was so much to see and so much detail. I wonder how this would have looked with sunlight through the windows....
Ginnie Hart: No chance for sunlight that day, Astrid, but I wonder, too, of course! Bedankt.
Comme Martine je reste admirative devant cette d'architecture d'antan ..Magnifique !
Ginnie Hart: I so agree, Claudine. They don't make them like this anymore, do they!

That is a fabulous piece of music Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: You would know that, Chad, of course!
Jolie et une photo dont le traitement lui va bien.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Pascale.
odd, but churches do not make MY soul still lol... i think your soul is pretty much constantly still and joyful... it's a lovely picture tho!! well done, my joyful sister xox
Ginnie Hart: My guess is we all have a place where we can find stillness, Elaine, but I suppose it most counts when we can find it midst the storm?

I am again impressed by how the Powershot manages to deliver detail. And then you just fix it, to look even better.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Louis. To be honest, I'm amazed by how manipulation tools can "fix" almost anything my wee camera can do. I keep it for the 1200mm range, as you probably already know, so useful for our travels.

Ginnie Hart: Merci, JP.
A very commanding point of view. friendship
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ruthie. Indeed.
What a terrific picture of a terrific building. It appears to have selection of paintings round the inside of the chancel walls. Every time I see the words of your title I always think of this song I have sung many times when in a local Male Voice Choir, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYMzRCuGpxk I'm sure you will be familiar with this and aprreciate those beautiful words.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Brian. Those words have always stirred me, so I love that you and Chad both make a connection to your choir singing. Thank you for that.
It is very ornate and impressive Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Even on a very dark and gloomy day, Bill, yes!

I understand well your feeling, it is a really wonderful Cathedral! I like your photograph very much. What a rich journey through Italy!
Ginnie Hart: Thankyou kindlu, Philine. It really was a wonderful tour!
Wow, what a great perspective! And the people really help.....really impressive Ginnie smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. The people really do give scale to this magnificent structure, don't they.

Plenty of signs of the wealth within this church. Shame they don't give some of the money to their needy followers.
Ginnie Hart: Don't get me started,Alan. I have so many mixed emotions when I walk into these grandiose, opulent cathedrals. They are museums to me, most often built on the backs of the parishioners who believe it will get them to Paradise. It could break my heart.
How can I stay still in such environment. My eyes just wanna wander off and explore more stuff. wink

I was going to say you might find it easier to concentrate in English churches. But then again, you would probably busy looking for pew kneelers, right? I know you too well! wink
Ginnie Hart: Oh my, LC. You know me so well it's almost scary. HAHAHAHAHA!
The power of the Church!
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Tom.
