A look that would startle anyone! A great find!
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Steven. Thank you.
Que de belles décorations ! Le personnage a l'air de porter la basilique sur ses épaules.
Ginnie Hart: Well said, Martine. Merci.
Well seen Ginnie, what an expression!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Frank. Dare I say he reminds me of one of the Three Stooges??? smile
Superb composition that offers us a very beautiful work of stone artists. We no longer know how to make such magnificent buildings now and that is a pity. But we still have the photos to freeze them in our memories for all eternity.
Ginnie Hart: Well said, Marie. The skill, the humor, the expertise...all of it really blows the mind.
Les sculptures sont très belles et j'aime ton cadrage.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Intricate work like this in churches always amazes me, Pascale. Merci.
Don't look down! I love that you always find these... and present them so well!
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Elizabeth. It always amazes me that these churches hold these treasures!

smile Great title, Ginnie. Man alive it looks like he really is in need for something to happen fast (toilet break or so?) Great details and yes, we are always short of eyes to see everything.
Ginnie Hart: He actually reminds me of your Big Brother, Astrid. Dare I say that??? grin
Not the job when you are scared of heights Ginnie grin
Ginnie Hart: You've got that right, Bill!

Looks like he's about to give up caring that heavy load and jump!
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure you're right, Alan. He looks exactly like a "Chris pose." grin
why? is the guy thinking of jumping? lol i really like this picture.... you just don't see stuff like this in Canada lol
Ginnie Hart: Who knows what the guy is thinking, Elaine. Wouldn't you love to talk to the sculptor! smile

Lucky you going to Verona Ginnie. We passed it but wished we could have visited.
Ginnie Hart: We've now been there twice, Chad, and highly recommend it if ever you have the chance to go. And if so, this church is a must!

This Atlas figure seems to be suffering from lifting up the stone work -what a hard work! A very fine observation!
Ginnie Hart: Don't you love what the sculptor must have been thinking when he created this, Philine! Bedankt.

Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Willy.
Not the most welcome looking of characters.
Ginnie Hart: It makes you wonder what the sculptor was thinking, Brian!

It makes me wonder what the artist had on their mind when the were sculpturing.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Andy!
Isn't it wonderful that the artist would sculpt such a face. Love this, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: It is indeed, Mary! Thanks.
His expression is priceless, Ginnie. Wonder how long he has been shouldering this burden.
Ginnie Hart: If he's as old as the church, Beverly, that would be from since about 1045!
WHat an expression! Love this one. Friendship
Ginnie Hart: I know, Ruthie. Thanks.
A lovely, funny, gargoyle! The kind that Terry Pratchett might have been thinking of when he gave them life!
Ginnie Hart: If he WERE alive, Tom, I would expect him to be our Chris. smile
Oh yes, you're right!
We still got time, Brexit is not going to happen until October.

Oddly, this guy in the photo starting to look like Jeremy Corbyn?!
Ginnie Hart: I can think of any number of people he looks like, LC. To think they had "situations" like that way back then!

I wonder who grooms his moustache for him. I am amazed by the crispness of the sculptures on the frieze behind old Popeye.
Ginnie Hart: Good observations and questions, Louis. Of course, I'd expect nothing less from you. smile
i like how they decorated almost every single pillar in there, Ginnie. you did a fantastic job of collecting the sculptures.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Ayush. This really IS our favorite place in Verona.

Ginnie Hart: It's amazing what's out there in these old churches, Sherri! smile
