Splendid detail captured in this close-up! The hand and arm are so life-like, especially when you can see the bone (ulna?) through the arm's flesh.
Ginnie Hart: The way you have described this helps me understand why I LOVE good wood carvings, Steven. Thank you.
Beautiful detail on this, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I know, Elizabeth. I love wood carvings like this. Thanks.
Lets grasp the week, Ginnie....Nice close up.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Frank. Thanks.
Joli gros plan sur les détails de la main.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine.

Don't panick...only 4 days till Friday.
Ginnie Hart: HA! And we know how quickly it'll come, Ray!
Beautiful details captured. This hand is beautiful and the bronze rendering splendid
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Marie. There is something about wood carvings that always grabs me!

I suspect this hand is preaching Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: I'm not sure, Chris, but I don't think so. There is a row of life-sized wooden statues in the cathedral, all standing together with different hand movements. But I can't find anything to explain what they're about!

a wonderful detail! (I am planning a series about 'speaking hands'.)
Ginnie Hart: Oh, that will be wonderful, Philine. I LOVE observing hands.
Magnifique détail , cette main est très expressive !
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Claudine. I love how wood can be carved like this.

Not always very easy, telling the truth is sometimes not what people want to hear...
Fabulous detail and it shows that it even would be more spectaculair if somebody took time to clean and polish this amazing statue.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Astrid. Can you imagine having that job, to keep everything dusted in a cathedral like this. There should be a guild of women/men who volunteer to do that on a weekly/monthly basis, out of pride, knowing so many visitors from around the world are visiting every day!

Such expressive hands Ginnie, which remind me of the work of Grunfeld. Spelt incorrectly.
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure you could educate me more on Grunfeld, Chad, even if spelled incorrectly!
Prachtig en krachtig staat deze hand er op !
Ginnie Hart: It clearly stood out to me, Marjolein, amongst the many. Bedankt.
that wooden hand reminds me of Nick Cage in 'Moonstruck'...
"That's not johnny's fault.'
''I don't CARE, i ain't no frikken' monument to justice!! I LOST MY HAND, I LOST MY BRIDE!! Johnny got his hand, johnny got his bride!"

very dramatic picture, that's all i'm sayin' lol
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good reference to Moonstruck, Elaine, which happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time. smile
Magnifique cette main ouverte.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Pascale. I love wood carvings like this!
There is so much life in that hand.
Ginnie Hart: That means there's no such thing as "dead wood," Bill, right?! smile
A very good detail shot, nice day to you
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Roland.
Quite a threatening kind of hand, I think.!
Ginnie Hart: Hmmmmmm. Not exactly how I saw it, Tom, so, interesting.

A dramatic hand. You went inside. I didn't.
Ginnie Hart: We did, indeed, go inside, Louis. I'm so glad we did. Daughter Amy saw her first grand cathedral.
There's a lot to explain...
What's going to happen in EU?!
Ginnie Hart: So glad you asked, LC. Let's see if there will be another Referendum!!!

maybe a detail of a confessional Ginnie ?

have a nice day
Ginnie Hart: This is at the place in the cathedral, Willy, where all those wooden statues are lined up. I sure would love to know more about them.
What a superb close up of this detailed hand.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Ruthie.

Recently I've been looking more closely at hand gestures and poses in paintings and sculptures. It's amazing how much you start to see when you really pay attention. This is wonderful!
Ginnie Hart: I know exactly what you mean, Robin. G'daughter Hailey is helping me to pay attention.
It is very well carved.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Brian.

I really like seeing the workmanship.

Get a grip, Theresa May or may not !
