2nd Pentecost Day/Whit Monday

50 days after Jesus' resurrection, a mighty rushing wind filled the disciples with the Holy Spirit.

And thus began Christianity all those years ago.

Il est joli, dommage qu'il ne soit pas nettoyé, il serait encore plus beau.
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Martine, I quite like the fact that it's NOT clean. It has a Wabi Sabi feel to it for me.

Beautiful warm colors that radiate from the wall! Great find.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Steven.
What a beautiful wall vent! They're so detail oriented in Italy! Happy 2nd Pentecost Day!
Ginnie Hart: It definitely caught my eye, Elizabeth. Thank you.
This makes a great photo Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.

I did not know this story about the wind, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: It's a story I grew up with, of course, Ray, as a preacher's kid!
I really like the subject and also the rendering of the stone and metal textures and the beautiful central symbol. It's a pleasure to discover works of art from another country, you learn, you grow and you enjoy it.
Have a good week Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I so agree on everything you have written here, Marie! Merci.
Jolie découverte sur ce mur ..peu de personnes se souviennent qu'est le Lundi de la Pentecôte Merci
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Claudine. It's easy to remember this day in the Netherlands because it's a national holiday!

A charming looking feature to be sure Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, Chris. I recall just staring at it to even figure it out!

What an amazing find you did, Ginnie and so appropriate for today. I so like the warm colours and all the little details. Beautiful design of the vent.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Astrid. I do remember really staring at this to figure out what it was. I'm glad I could finally "connect" it to something like the significance of today. smile

What a fitting image for this holiday! A beautiful detail I never saw before!"
Ginnie Hart: It was so "new" for me, Philine, that I didn't understand what it was until after figuring it out.
Those bricks have weathered to a wonderful colour Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Bill!

That’s a beautiful vent Ginnie. I like your description of day one of the church.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Chad. All these years later one might think it was all to no avail, but we need to have hope midst the chaos, yes?!
Joli graphisme et harmonie dans les couleurs.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Pascale. I like the colors, too.
What an interesting decoration Ginnie, at first I thought it resembled a shield and then I read your words and looked at the inner design......very fitting! smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Martin. I was very glad when I saw the "connection" I could make. smile
Wat een prachtig mooi ornament is dit .
Héél mooi passend bij Pinksteren
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein. I was glad I could make it "fit" the day. smile
i really like the bricks forming up that circular space, Ginnie. and the relief is very ornate.
Ginnie Hart: You can see why it caught my eye, Ayush! Thank you.
The wind has blown million of tourists from Venice too.
Crazy, isn't it?
Ginnie Hart: Very crazy, LC. (sigh)
Excellent photo, Ginnie. I thought this might be Scottish and am surprised it is from Italy.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Care, and I know. It still surprises me.
A time when craftsmanship was treasured!
Ginnie Hart: Isn't that the truth, Tom!

A great picture of the vent. There was a time in Hungary that I too pictures of wall vents. Never in my life did I imagine that the Holy Spirit can come blowing through them.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Sometimes you have to use your imagination, Louis. smile
That is rather nice. It was sort of Holy Spirit nearly all day in our house, first our Ministers Youtube service, they are very good each week, then a special one hour Pentecost service on the BBC followed by the usual Morning Worship during the lockdown and then the regular Sunday Songs of Praise after lunch, by the time we'd watched all those we were Pentecosted out, if there is such a thing.
Ginnie Hart: HAHA! Well, then, Brian. You probably don't need the extra day that the Dutch have each year.
We all need a little Pentecost these days, the coming together of all races and tongues. Friendship
Ginnie Hart: So well said, Ruthie. YES!

een prachtige opname Ginnie

in het eens zo katholieke Vlaanderen, weten velen niet meer waar Pinksteren voor staat..

tenzij dat het een verlofdag is

prettige avond
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Willy. I grew up in a Baptist preacher's home and don't recall hearing that much about this date on the Christian calendar. Most interesting that here in parts of Europe there are TWO national days of celebration!

i would not known what this one, but for your explanation. it's quite beautiful and i love the mossy appeal.
Ginnie Hart: It took a lot of staring to figure this out, Sherri, but once I "got it," it made sense. It became a work of art for me. smile
it is a wonderful design on the wall vent in Venice Ginnie...
i like your quote about the Holy Sprite and the start of Christianity on... Whit Monday
....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. It was a reminder to me, once I read it, that this was indeed the day we associate with the birth of Christianity.
Love it. Love the light. Love the colour. Love the composition.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you for all the love, Michael. smile

Joli rendu
JP
Ginnie Hart: Merci, JP.
It's amazing the intricate small details that can be found when you really look.
Ginnie Hart: So very true, Sheila! Seeing is believing.
that's the best looking wall vent ever! ah, Italian craftsmanship
Ginnie Hart: Definitely worth a second look, Ryan! Thank you.
