When Morning Breaks
This will be a short series of images from the Michigan cottage over our July 4th holiday weekend.
As most good fisher[wo]men know, fishing is best in the early morning. [I arrive in Amsterdam from Atlanta this morning.]

This is magnificent Ginnie. The water is a mirror! I love the tones.
Ginnie: That's one of the reasons why I love the morning at the lake, Richard. The water IS a mirror! Thanks.
Were you there to fish or shoot? Or both
BTW, I learned to cast my own rod today. Nope, I never caught anything. I did bring my camera, though, and caught some shots
Ginnie: This time I was only shooting, Maria! Actually, I haven't fished in a long time and I'm getting antsy to do it again. Thanks.
Love the quality of light here and the mist gently rising. Love how you've framed and captured the scene. So peaceful.
Ginnie: The morning really is a peaceful time of the day, Marcie, isn't it! Thanks.
Superb image Ginnie. This is my favourite time of day.
Ginnie: It's my favorite time, too, Aussie. So quiet and before most people are stirring in their beds! Thanks.
Wow. this is gorgeous, Ginnie!
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, dear Kay!
Looks very early morning-ish, a time of day I tend to avoid
Ginnie: HA! I'm not always up and out this early, Martin, but I do love it when I am, especially at the lake. Once everyone else is awake on a holiday weekend, the whole place is a-buzz with activity and noise all over the lake...until sundown. The fishers have to seize the day whenever they can!
De ochtend is de beste tijd van de hele dag, the morning is the best time of the whole day.
Geweldige foto, phenomenal picture, a likey to me. Imagine, I could live a hundred years living on a house boat, having this view every morning, fishing rods always within reach, being on the deck with a good friend......phew....life would be perfect, meer dan je weet. See you soon mijn vriend.
Ginnie: I'm here, Astrid, back in my home away from home and, yes, this would be heaven to have this view every morning. One day we'll have to put our cameras down and pick up the fishing rods! Wouldn't THAT be fun.
Wonderful reflections and such a lovely morning mist. If you told us, "I'm in "A" today, we'd never know where you were"...
You'll have to ignore me. I get silly when I'm tired. Truly an exceptionally beautiful image.
Ginnie: HA! That's why I always say where I am, Sherri, because it gets very confusing even for me to keep track of myself! Now go to bed.
Wow Ginnie, Wow!
Okay so thats not very informative. What i like are the colours, tones, reflection 'cleanliness' and sharpness of the image.
Ginnie: You know how to make my day, Stan. Thanks.
magnifique! quelle sérénité dans la photo
Ginnie: The early morning is very special because of its serenity, O-P. I totally agree. Merci.
The same applies to photography! Great picture, lovely soft light and you can feel the moist in the air...
Ginnie: Welcome to SC, Gina! I wonder where you live in the Netherlands??!!
That looks so serene, Ginnie. You are back in Hamster jam so soon?
Ginnie: Hamster jam?! I love it. Yes, I am back, Sir Chad. You know I can't stay away for long!
This is superb. I can feel the early morning crying out at me, just look at the mist on the water. Simmply wonderful love this to bits. Great start to my day thanks for sharing.
Ginnie: You know how to make MY day, Scotia. Thank you.
Lovely Ginnie the clarity of this shot is outstanding as usual.
I agree with Asrtid the morning is the best part of the day. The water looks like glass mijn vriend, and what a reflection
Ginnie: I can just picture the 3 of us, quietly meditating over our cameras, Tracy!
It is worth getting up early for light like this. I'll leave the fishing to others. Lovely picture Ginnie.
I'm off now to prepare for the arrival of two lunatics!
Ginnie: So, are you gonna be called The Three Lunatics??? HA! The three Musketeers and The Three Lunatics. I could get used to that.
Wow excellent photo the reflection is like mirror,Super shot Ginnie
Ginnie: That's what I like about the early morning, Vintage. The lake is like glass! Thanks.
Well done ginnie
Ginnie: Thank you, Atunbi!
Nice shot Ginnie. I would have liked it more if it was cropped a little from the top
Ginnie: Maybe I was a bit too rigid with my "rule of thirds," Navin? Thanks for your comment, as always, and suggestion.
Sumptuously rich "painting", Ginnie..beautiful in that early morning light, and with mist rising of the surface of the Pond.
Ginnie: This lake is like an entirely different place at this time of the day, Ray, because of the mist. You know what I mean, I know. Thanks.
I like the myst over the water
Ginnie: It's one of my favorite things about the early morning, Chantal. Thanks.
First I thought I would be at a lake in Far east- zo'n zacht, dromerig sfeertje- I very love this early quiet morning atmosphere when it is still open what will happen this day. "In mist the quiet world is clad,
forest and meads (and lake) still dreaming...." (Mörike)- and I like the beautiful reflections- Een prettige dag in Amsterdam toegewenst van Philine
Ginnie: It's a beautiful prettige dag, dear Philine, welcoming me back to AMS, for sure. The sun is shining and the street is alive with all its sounds. This is my second home...and I am HOME. Ontzettend bedankt.
For me the picture is especially interesting because of the vertical lines, and of course the gorgeous morning mistiness. Lovely, sharp but romantic, image.
Ginnie: Thank you much, kind sir.
Such a nice shot. I like the animation of the person in the boat and of course, the mist.
Ginnie: It's looks like that man in the boat is casting his line, doesn't it, Mary. Thanks.
I love mornings, best time of the day
Ginnie: I agree, Etomi, and the whole day is before you! Thanks.
Okay, so gets up this early to take this wonderful, tranquil, and yes, I might add, very enticing shots? Hmm...
Ginnie: I'm not always up early enough for such shots, Alex, I'll be the first to admit, but when I am, I'm always rewarded. It actually was not too early...just after 7a.m.
Quite simply, stunning!
Beautifully captured, and marvellous in every way
Ginnie: You are a sweetheart, Paul. Thank you kindly.
Ginnie, early bird catches the worm .. a german slogan ;-) What did you get in the coffee in the morning .. at the time so you post a firework after another. Very nice capture. I love the great reflections and the mist on the surface of the water. Fantastic work!!
Ginnie: We say that, too, Klaus.
A special hour...the world still reflects the silence and the pale quietness of the night...a special hour, caught by very special eyes...
(I hope you had a great lunch with some very fresh fish
Ginnie: I wish I had had that lunch, Lina.
WOW !!!
Ginnie: Awww, shucks, Johnny.
Sometimes photography is best in the early morning as well Ginnie, this morning certainly was. Well seen and taken.
Ginnie: Yes, Brian, I know...that's the magic time for so many things.
A wonderful shot. So calm and serene. Beautiful light and that bit of rising mist is gorgeous.
Ginnie: I love the early morning mist, Michael. Thanks.
Nice one Ginnie, this relaxed me while I was at work. The picture is super clear.
Ginnie: It relaxed me, too, Sesan.
Oh wow! What a great place to stay. Love the glassy water and the mirror like reflection. (:o)
Ginnie: The magic of the morning hour is hard to resist, Roz. Thanks.
A wonderful soft light on the water.
Ginnie: I do love that time of the day, Still. Thanks.
nice shot Ginnie, I like the framing.
Ginnie: Nice to see you again, Dotun. Thank you! Please make sure we get the link to your new blog!!
I see we had the same idea today.
Ginnie: Oh my. I just saw your photo, Ruth. Wait till you see mine for tomorrow. And we didn't even call each other to arrange it.
thanks for the trip ginnie
love that glassy sea
Ginnie: You're more than welcome, DrAW!
What a great craft in the foreground Ginnie, fine reflections and a mist in the distance, well seen.
Ginnie: I was looking at my photos the other day and noticed how many of these pontoon boats are all over this lake, Les. They make a nice leisurely gad-about for us older types.
What a wonderful picture Ginnie - love the rising mist on the lake...
Ginnie: That mist sucks me in every time I see it, Chris. Hope you had a great meet-up/photo-hunt today!
Love the clarity
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Nigel.
I love the purity of ur images, u really have a great sense of capture. Superb capture Ginnie
Ginnie: You are such a sweetheart, Fotografa. Thank you for your kind words!
Wow. That's really pretty.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Nadine, for stopping by and commenting. You're the second "new" person from the Netherlands that I've met this week. So, where do you live? Inquiring minds and all.
