Warmth
Today Tracy/Lurch from the UK flies to be with us here in Amsterdam for a couple days. On Friday, Astrid/Picturit and Scarlett will join us for a mini SC meet-up.
(which explains why I won't be on SC the next 2 days!) And THAT reminds me of a potbelly stove on a cold day! (from sister Ruth's farmhouse in Michigan and with several filters added) [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

Warm indeed! This would make a wonderful greeting card, Ginnie.
Ginnie: Awwwww. Thanks, Red Pen! Good to see you back!!
That looks like the ticket! It is unpleasantly damp and cold here tonight and one of these would be just perfect. Have fun with those folks (should not be hard)!
Ginnie: I LOVE stoves like this, Martin. They just invite friendship, don't they! Thanks.
Wow! Ginnie! Your you are best the public relations of all the Community of Shutterchance. It gives many memories to these good friends of my part. Thanks!
The photo is simply brilliant. The filters that you have added have created a very good composition, seemed to the result of hdr! Bravo! We will put the hands to warm up itself!
Ginnie: I must say that I thoroughly enjoy all these get-togethers, José-Angel. You know I do! Thank you!
Wow!
You are getting better by the day! I've lived in Amsterdam for 7 years, love the city very much. Like your photograph has a lot of warmth My compliments Ginnie!
Ginnie: I had no idea you knew AMS like that, Rafael. You've got me beat! Thanks for your comment and knowing.
Great choice with the high ISO. The noise makes the shot.
Ginnie: Actually, Jewyla, you wouldn't believe it but there was NO NOISE or graininess in the original, even at 1600. Nor did I add grain. I think I used the Fresco and maybe one other filter? Can't remember. I liked the effect enough to keep it. Thanks.
Keep the home fires burning and the kettle on, what a warm greeting Ginnie and that's before I get there
As you see I can not sleep See you later alligator
Ginnie: Yup, Tracy. You are already welcomed!
Is that a Clinker?
Ginnie: I'm not sure what a Clinker is, Stacey, but Ruth says it's a Jotul (from Sweden, she thinks). It sure does a dandy job of keeping a large room warm! Thanks.
Lovely warm shot, Ginnie! Great to see and feel on a Winter's day.
Have fun with Tracy, Astrid and Scarlett - can't wait to see your pics of everyone
Ginnie: Well, then, I guess I'll have to keep my camera out, Kay! Who, ME???
Thank you, my friend.
rien que la photo réchauffe déjà
Ginnie: You're a sweetheart, O-P! Thanks.
What a wonderful potbelly stove! I like the lovely warm brown-orange-fire-toning! I think that it will a lot of warmth("hartstikke warm" in Dutch, "bullig warm" in German) when you all are gathered filled with such warm hearts!
Ginnie: Yes, yes, yes, indeed, Philine. Aren't we lucky! Thank you for knowing. I think YOUR turn is coming up soon.
Great image. I love the effect that you have added onto this image. It is pretty!
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Kanyi!
Warmth......warmte is dat niet wat iedereen nodig heeft....this an amazing shot, I love the way you centered it, the colors of the wall are just enough to stay fosussed on the stove, talking about Friday, me joining the party...I agree with Martin....we only be talking...talking...laughing...and laughing....oh yes we migth be able to take a few pics
Ginnie: There will be LOTS of heat/warmth come Friday, Astrid, and we both know it! HA! I wonder if our photos will capture it?! Dank je wel, mijn vriend.
Lovely shot and well presented ..
Ginnie: Thank you, Shakara.
Very effective Ginnie, just the place to be on a cold and miserable day. Enjoy your meet.
Ginnie: I can imagine that a lot of folks would love to stand around this stove today. Thanks, Les.
Beautyful noisy shot Ginnie. I can feel the warmth at distance . Excellent composition.
I am sure the four you will spend a great time together
Ginnie: Oh yes, Richard. We've been talking about it for weeks and can hardly believe it's starting today!
I can feel the warmth on my body ... The orange border is very clever to enforce the warmth of the photo !!!
Ginnie: You're a sweetheart, Ann. Thank you.
A perfect image to represent the warmth of friendship, Ginnie.
Ginnie: That's what I thought, Kathryn!
Toasty warm atmosphere, which I am sure will be reflected in your shutterchance meet up. Have a great time. (:o)
Ginnie: I think we will have a toasty time indeed, Roz. Can hardly wait.
Hey, I get to feel the warmth of your photo, the warmth of the meet-up AND the warmth of the real wood stove a few feet away.
Ginnie: Yes, Ruth, YOU are the one who really feels the warmth! Thanks for sharing this with us today.
Just the image for the second stormy day in a row.
Wish I was with you all on Friday. That would be a fun group!
Ginnie: We'll pretend you're with us in your heart, Mary. So fun to imagine it. Thanks.
Lovely image, really appropriate PP work and lots and lots of warmth and friendship in all the messages here- it makes so glad I'm a wee bit of a great community here on SC! Thanks for cheering us all up on a freezing winter's day- have fun!!
Ginnie: It's a fabulous community here at SC, David, and our time yesterday was just spectacular. We were not disappointed!! Thanks for your kind words.
Love the colour
Ginnie: Thank you very much, Vintage.
Have fun with your mini-meet, wish I could come too
I like the effect of the filters here
Ginnie: Awww. Maybe one day you CAN come, Paul.
Brilliant! I am moved to using that word quite a lot with your recent work, Ginnie.
Ginnie: You know how to make my day, Ray! Thank you.
Reminds me of Norwegian Christmas cartoon/postcard drawings from the old days
Ginnie: Hmmmm. Maybe I'll use it in my Christmas letter next year, Aksel.
very nice gritty shot!
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Kairospix.
Excellent picture, I am not sure what filter u used but it adds to the picture's cosiness.
Will miss you these couple of days, but enjoy the party over there. Not too much tea - remember the dutch like their beers. Stand them for a Denterchemse Witte - very special.
Ginnie: The main filter was Fresco, I think, Louis. I've really started liking it. Thanks.
We had a total blast yesterday and had lots of tea...but no beer whatsoever. I know, what's wrong with us!
I could do with one of those in my studio - it is absolutely freezing! Perhaps if I just print off a copy and pin it to the wall it will warm me up!
Ginnie: Awwww. If only! But it's such a sweet thought, Mike. It sure kicks out a lot of heat. I love these things! Thanks.
Nice capture Ginnie. Have fun and take lots of pics with Tracy, Astrid and Scarlet
Ginnie: We did have fun, Aussie, and we all took lots of photos! Tomorrow you'll see a handful of them.
Hot stuff
Ginnie: HA! Nice and cozy, Chris.
Have a great time all of you..I can't wait to see the pictures you all post.
Ginnie: We had a FABULOUS time, Bill. I even think YOUR name came up more than once.
I am warming up to the idea of radical PP work, great effect Ginnie!
Ginnie: That sure is encouraging,Monika.
Very nice colour treatment.
Warm and inviting
Ginnie: Thank you, Magnus. This kind of thing is very warm and inviting, to be sure.
You never cease to amaze me. Simple but very nice.
Ginnie: ChiChi! You made my day! Thank you.
Looks so much like a catalogue shot Ginnie - and a picture of something we need here today, it's gone bitterly cold after the torrential rain of the last couple of days
Ginnie: If we could but send a photo and wave a magic wand to make it real! It's yours for the taking, Ellie. I found out from Amy a few minutes ago that it's snowing in Atlanta right now (Saturday afternoon their time). Thanks.
How wonderful to meet up with other Sc people. Yes agreed you are the best PR for SC.
Love your photo, so warm and inviting .. look forward to your group photos.
Ginnie: I sure enjoy these meet-ups, Gale, no doubt about it. You'll see the gang tomorrow (Sunday)! Thanks.
I really can feel the warmth from this old stove. Great image!
Ginnie: I can, too, Wim! It is a wonderful addition in my sister's farmhouse in Michigan! Thanks.
Sorry Ginnie to be less present those days but I still have electricians, painters and other workers home. No need to tell you that there's a real mess here and unfortunately it's not easy to connect my pc everyday. Have a nice trip and journey and say hello to Tracy, Astrid and Scarlet.
Ginnie: We all have those times, Flo, so I perfectly understand. You can only do what you can do! All that much more I am honored that you have stopped by. Thank you!
Beautiful colors Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Roger.
Well I hope you all have a good time together: I'm sure you will
Ginnie: We had a fantastic time together, Chris. Tomorrow (Sunday) you'll see some of it.
Wow! this is really fantastic shot. I can feel the warmth. Wonderful framing too.
Ginnie: It really does radiate the heat, doesn't it, Reza.

Wow, now that really looks hot !!!
Ginnie: Very hot up close, of course, but it radiates out to fill the room!
It's lovely what you have done to this picture. It would make a nice postcard.
Have a nice weekend
Ginnie: I think it might be fun to make this into a postcard, Frida. Thanks for the idea.
