You poor thing ! It got to be the busiest becuase of Delta Airlines, but there you go. You were indeed lucky not to get at least questioned about taking shots in an airport ! Poor you not to at least get to transfer in London, Paris is a pig for transfers... sorry Zeb but it is.

Ginnie: Yes, Delta is the culprit and now with all the hullabaloo about whether or not Delta will get bought out and moved to another state, there's all kinds of speculation about what will happen! A big mess. And since that's usually what we fly and through whom we have our frequent flyer miles, it remains to be seen what happens to us as well.

Zeb notwithstanding, I must say that while I like the physical Paris airport in many ways, their reputation for taking care of your baggage is atrocious. Even with a 2-hour layover, we do NOT expect to receive our bags with our flight at our final destination. If we do, it's a pleasant surprise. We always have to plan accordingly when we pack!

Now a transfer to London! I'll have to talk to Donica about that! She says that until recently we couldn't fly directly to London from Atlanta! Amazing.

Ginnie: You brave woman!! I would not have had the nerve to take such a photo. During the B&W photo class I took last year, I went to one of the malls in Oklahoma City to get some photos of a really cool fountain they have there. Well... I got escorted out by the cops for taking photos of a FOUNTAIN!!! OMG!

I'm glad you got back to Europe safe, Ginnie! I always thought that I travel a lot, but you beat me. Also, it might not be true that I travel a lot, because I was not aware taking pictures in an airport was such a big deal! I got several at DIA last year, no problem. Congrats on the catch!

Ginnie: Actually, Samira, I'm not there yet! In fact we haven't even left yet. We leave for the airport in another 5 hours and then Donica's plane leaves first (5:25p Atlanta time--10:25p UK time). My plane doesn't leave until 9p tonight (2a UK time tomorrow), so there's still a lot of waiting to be done! Tomorrow's post will publish before I even get on the plane. Weird, isn't it!

So where/when/why do YOU travel a lot? Do you go back-n-forth to Argentina?

I retired 2 years ago so that I could travel with Donica (my domestic partner of 9+ years) who is in Europe over half the year (most of the time in Hannover). She has diabetes and an extremely hectic work schedule. I'm able to calm things down by doing all the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. A small price to pay for ME, don't you think?! I love it.

Ginnie: That's what Ellie said, Chris. I told her that last night it supposedly got down to 19°F/-7°C here in Atlanta, which is almost unheard of. Right now it's warmer than that in Hannover (45°F/7°C)! But I'm quite sure that will feel as cold because it seems to go straight through to the bones there! A damp cold.

It's come to my attention that the police wherever these days take note of anyone with a camera in public spaces. I think it's part of Homeland Security procedures now. Particularly because terrorism advisories have been focused on vacation and leisure related places and activities.

I uses to take cell pics at the mall- much to my daughters dismay because they knew it wasn't allowed. Bad mommy!
Guess I'll rethink doing that after hearing of Marybeth's experience.

Ginnie: Yes, Josie, I actually pulled out the camera very nonchallantly, held it close to my chest while walking up to the window (in the gate area), and snapped the pic. I probably should pay attention to my instincts when I feel wary. But then, as Louis says, I could always pull the granny thing.
