Little Sluggers
Even at an early age (my grandson, Nicholas, is 7), every player has his own bat.
It's serious business. [Today I'm in Atlanta.]

Love the perspective and the DOF with this shot. Great tones and very well composed image. Nice job Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, John.
Mmmm...this really is a serious business Ginnie
Ginnie: Very serious, Chris. Almost as serious as your own quest for enlightenment!
Fun shot, Ginnie. The seriousness of children's sports can be amusing!
Ginnie: Yes, Jewlya, I know, especially when the parents take it TOO seriously!!
lol! It looks like they are soon gonna be about to go to work with those bats
Ginnie: Yes, indeed, Kanyi! And congratulations on your new website!
Cool shot. I love seeing the bats hanging in the dugout like that.
Ginnie: It was just as the sun was going down, Sherri, so they really caught my eye.
Good idea to make this your subject.
The DOF is judicious. Very nice and well done!
Ginnie: Thanks so much, Rémi, for stopping by and commenting again. That means a lot.
Great DOF, warm colors
Ginnie: It was just as the sun was setting, Klaus, so it was a "warm" sight indeed. Thanks.
Geweldig, great composition, so sharp, very nice rich tones mijn vriend and sure this is serious, even for a 7 year old Nicholas, to be taught the right things from the beginning, it will be a grand sight to see these kids round the bases. (this picture brought back so many good memories, it is serious to have one own bat, I pictured myself again swinging warm before going to meet 'the pitcher'......wait for the ball and hit at the right moment....)
Ginnie: I know you had your own bat, Astrid. We still have 2 of Donica's bats in the garage, as well as both of our softball gloves. These are memories for all of us. So fun. You'd make a good coach. Have you ever thought of doing that??
Nice Lighting Ginnie, love the colours.
Ginnie: It was just as the sun was setting, Etomi, so it was a very "warm" moment. Couldn't resist it.
What an amazing shot! I think i love the color best.
Ginnie: What a sweetheart, Mad! Thanks for showing up here!! It was just as the sun was setting, so the color was captivating.
Nice, like the colours here, Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Bridge.
i second john maslowski's comment
also good use of complementary colours
Ginnie: "Contemporary colors!" I like that, DrAW. They are timeless colors for me, I guess, because orange especially is my favorite.
Their own bats... and well protected.
Ginnie: Yes, Wim. That dugout protects their bats and everything else.
I love the title and your comments. Over here they try to encourage kids to play cricket with a game called Kwik Cricket. It is great fun to want the kids who really take it seriously.
Love the picture too. I guess these bats don't come cheap!
Ginnie: With all the sports the equipment really starts adding up, but once they have it, they have it. So, yes, Bill, it's all fun to watch, once everything is in place.
Bravo, Ginnie! This composition with that point of approach I like much!
Ginnie: Thanks a million, José-Angel.
Good idea, I like these warm tones and light here.
Ginnie: I took it as the sun was setting, Arash, so it was a magical moment for me. Thanks.
Intriguing use of DOF here Ginnie. And lovely warm tones with that touch of blue just setting it off.
Ingrid
Ginnie: Before the game started, Ingrid, I was snooping around by the dugout, just as the sun was starting to set. It was a magical moment for me. Thank you.
Nice Play with the DOF and Colors
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Mirco.
To have the passion at age seven is great.
Ginnie: I guess they teach them young to see if they in fact DO have passion, Vintage...and then to see if it lasts. I'll be eager to see how long it lasts for Nicholas. Thanks.
A great shot Ginnie evokes so much in the mind
The colours are so sharp and I bet our musketeer friend liked the orange in this shot The little ones are so lucky to be involved in team sports,it's a great learning curve in life
Ginnie: We Musketeers know our stuff, Tracy. And yes, we all know how important it is for the learning process to be in team sports. Even if Nicholas never plays another game ever, we know he has already learned a lot! And yes, more than one of us loves orange!!
Really, really like the composition here, Ginnie.
Ginnie: I really, really thank you, kind sir.
great DOF Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thanks, Chantal.
Good use of DOF
Ginnie: Thank you, S&S.
This is a lovely picture in its own right, Ginnie, irrespective of the subject.
Ginnie: Awww. Thank you kindly, Chad.
Love the colours and the dof Ginnie.
Ginnie: It was as the sun was setting, Aussie, so the colors were captivating! Thanks.
You betcha its serious. Nice capture.
Ginnie: Thanks, Clarence. Those of us here in the States know!
Great perspective and nice warm colors.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Carsten. It was at that magical time of the day.
Quite a serious business Ginnie. The bats are well protected!
Great lighting and DOF in your shot.
Ginnie: That's what the dugouts are for, Richard...to protect the players AND their equipment. I had never thought about that before.
What a marvelous perspective. The color and clarity here are superb. Nice shot!
Ginnie: Don't we love when this happens, John! Thank you.
Wonderful image!!!!
Baseball IS life..is it not?!?!?
Ginnie: Only those of us in the States know this, Marcie.
Wonderful DOF action, Ginnie. I like the colors too, and your framing.
Yes you are right...baseball is serious for the kids and their parents. Sometimes more serious for parents
Ginnie: Sometimes we have to knock the parents over the head and remind them it's just a game!!
Really serious, indeed!
Ginnie: Yes, you know it is!
Fun shot Ginnie, I guess they also have their own baseball glove as well.
Ginnie: HA! That's tomorrow, Brian.
Lots of orange ones. I love the DoF too!
Ginnie: Orange is my favorite color, Ruth.
At first glance I thought these were fireworks - rockets. Shows how much I know about baseball doesn't it.
Ginnie: HA! Well, it IS a sport not well-known outside the States, Ellie, for good or bad.
Great picture of patterns and colours. It is a good thing to have your own bat - it could also be used as a club in an old fashioned search for a soulmate.
This reminds me of when I did my national service, where you sometimes had to hurry-up and wait. We then take a coke tin, shaped it into a vaguely ball shaped object, some plank for a bat and stones for bases and had ourselves a great baseball match.
Ginnie: Old-fashioned search! Louis, certainly not the way YOU did it! HA! Now the hurry up and wait matches I can understand.
I've never played baseball - it's not very popular in Norway. Like the pattern and light....and by the way where is my plastic cup
Ginnie: HA! Where IS your plastic cup? I don't think I want to know, Aksel. BUT Nicholas DID have to get one when he started this year. That serious.
Hi Ginnie. I've looked at your pictures: they are very nice, specially the ones showing close ups of small details like this one and the bells one, .... VERY NICE JOB!!!
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Berta. I've looked at YOUR photos, too, and like your eye for detail!
