I Left My Heart in....
...but then, you already knew that!
I am up to my ears in alligators, scanning, listing and selling hundreds of US stamp sheets on eBay and have had limited time on SC...to get the job done before the house sells. But I'm up to 2006, so I'm almost done! Today, I needed my SC "fix." (This is another scan with border added...not a photo.)

I love how you have displayed these stamps Ginnie. I'm sure it helped the sales.
Keep up the hard work as you know what's in the pot at the end of the rainbow.
Ginnie: I just finished scanning all my sheets on Saturday night, Aussie, and should finish listing them by Tuesday night, so all the hard work is paying off. It's been a mammoth project but definitely worth every penny. Now I'm looking forward to the end of that rainbow.
It's funny, but I told Astrid the other day that I could post a different sheet of stamps for many days to come that reminds me of different SCers!
Fine scan, and wonderful presentation, Ginnie.
Something very pleasing about repetitive images like this.
Ginnie: I know, Ray. This particular sheet doesn't have the spizzaz of others but it sure does have the sentiment, if you know what I mean.
wow.. that sure sounds like a lot of work..
Ginnie: I am almost finished, Rian, and that's the good news. The scanning is done and I have one more day of lsiting. It's been a mammoth job, for sure, but definitely worth every penny. Thanks.
Up you your ears in alligators.... take plenty of sticks to hold their mouths open when they attack, Ginnie! ha ha
I'm just trying to place what countries flag that is..... umm.....I'm sure I know it.....
Ginnie: You better know that flag, Paul!
Great presentation of the Dutch flag....I do love all the repetitive images. In the Keukenhof ( http://www.keukenhof.nl/index.php?LAN_ID=2 ) they have a special excibition about 400 year America, New York. I know where you left your heart and some do know......
Ginnie: Ja, Dat weten wij!! Your flag has become mine, as you already know. It was our Destiny!
j'adore ça cette répétition
Ginnie: Merci, O-P. I can't get enough of what this flag means to me.
Yes, Ginnie, I know... and how nice that the English/ American people know the phrase "I Left My heart in.. , too ("Ich hab mein Herz in Heidelberg verloren") -oh, the historians could tell us how narrow are the relationships between America and Netherlands- and the private friendships could tell still quite more!
Ginnie: I don't think I ever told you, Philine, that one of my brothers married a Dutch gal! She was in her Mom's tummy when they took their ship to America! So the Dutch have been in my family for a long time.
Stamping your authority Ginnie?
Ginnie: That is one way to put it, Chad.
Hang on and dont get posted.
Ginnie: HA! I wouldn't mind getting "posted" to The Netherlands right now, Vintage.
This is a fine stamp commemorating the American-dutch bond, that is fortunately enduring.
Ginnie: May it endure forever, Wim!
WOW...That's a neat collection. The previous one too. Here's wishing you good luck for sales of your collection Ginnie.
Ginnie: The sheets are selling like hotcakes, Thomas. I don't even have to relist them! So I am a very happy camper. In a week they will all be ended on eBay and out of the house. It's been an enormous project but worth every penny. Thanks.
Very neat job with the border, just one of the things l have on my to learn list. All that hard work seems to be paying off, soon have free time to play with
Ginnie: HA! Soon I'll have free time to tackle other projects that won't be so time-consuming, Tony! WHEW! Then the house can sell.
Holland rules in stamps I see
Ginnie: For today, Chantal, YES!
A beautiful presentation Ginnie. Nice choice of colours!
Ginnie: I remember the day I had to learn the difference between this flag and yours, Richard.
Yes, Astrid is right, I saw the exhibition about 400 Year America, too, and I'll send you a funny photo! (the word/heart sign for 'love' has been replaced by a red tulip bulb)
Ginnie: It was a fabulous image, Philine. I loved it! Thanks.
You must have had a great stamp collection Ginnie. This is an excellent scan.
Ginnie: It was a very nice collection, Brian, indeed! It's been nice to see every sheet again, so the exercise has been well worth it. Thanks.
i'm enjoying seeing these sheets, i hope you have time to post (sorry) some more.
Ginnie: I'm going to post one more, David...and thanks for your enthusiasm. I have thought of different bloggers for almost every sheet...that's been the fun of it.
nicely presented.
Ginnie: Thank you, kind sir.
Selvage rules in mint stamp collecting.
richard
Ginnie: Aha! Someone else knows!
I'm sure scanning is quicker and simpler than photographing objects for SC. Considering your predicament...your doing well Ginnie. What would we do without Ebay.
Ginnie: Scanning is definitely quicker, Ron, but photography is more rewarding, of course. But for now, I've wanted to show what I'm doing. EBay has been my salvation these days, giving me the money I will desperately need in the days ahead. So I'm a happy camper.
Nice pattern Ginnie .. and good luck with the selling
Ginnie: Thanks a million, Klaus. So far everything is selling like hotcakes.
I don't suppose you are interested in old Stanley Gibbons Stamp catalogues?
Ginnie: HAHAHAHAHAHA! You tickle me to death, Bill.
Of course you did Ginnie. Won't be long now - eh!
Ginnie: The light is definitely shining brightly at the end of the tunnel, Chris!
While you're selling your house, I'm trying to buy my first. No luck yet on my part; hope you get lucky and get the house sold.
Ginnie: I wish you could buy mine, Maria. It's gonna be a great place for someone who wants 3 acres in the woods.
Keep it up, Ginnie!
Ginnie: It's been one of the smartest things I've ever done, Ian...collecting the stamps for just this day when I could turn a nice profit. I'm delighted.
Really, really nice Ginnie! And you must be a bit relieved that you are nearly done with this task.
Ginnie: As you will see tomorrow, Martie, I'M DONE! Now the auctions just have to end (next week) and get mailed. And now I can tackle other much lesser projects before the house sells...which I sense will be soon.
Ahh yet another fascinating stamp! Fine work with the presentation, i'm sure those sales will go quick!
Ginnie: All the sheets are selling like hotcakes, Brian, and will be done by early next week. Good news!!
sounds like an enormous undertaking. Good work getting most the way through it.
This is a great post!
Ginnie: It's been a mammoth project, OSB, but worth every penny. I knew there was an end in sight, which is actually now! I'm finished scanning and listing. Now all that's left is for the auctions to end early next week. YAAY!
I do love seeing these in series like this. They make such wonderful patterns.
Ginnie: I know, Marcie. It has been a thrill to go through all these beautiful stamps again and see just how beautifully done they are. This is one time we can be proud of our USA!
Still fun to watch. There is something magical in repeating texture, almost hypnotizing.
Ginnie: So true, Ilan, so true!
Glad to hear your nearing the end mijn vreind
I know where you left your heart Musketeer. Soon it will be reunited
Ginnie: Now I'm working on the souvenir pages of every stamp created since 1973 but I don't have to scan every sheet. I'll be selling them in year lots. That will help. Thanks for your support, Musketeer!
Wow sounds like alot of work! I hope you get lots of bids!
Ginnie: They've been selling like hotcakes, Andy. It's one of the best things I've ever done...both the collecting AND the selling.
as long as you didn't leave it in San Francisco and were here without telling me!
Ginnie: Oh my, Mad. That would have been wonderful to have met you there. One day I will meet you! I believe it's our Destiny.
