Auntie Sue
Susan Elizabeth Hart Moore
June 28, 1910 - March 15, 2008 She was my only living relative in the generation above me, but she was 97 years old, the only sister of my dad! How can you weep after all those years! Her funeral service is today in Bridgewater, Virginia, USA. (weeping willows from the Holland polder, filtered) [Today I'm in Amsterdam.]

May she rest in peace. i checked out the blog you had of her. It made me want to have met her.
Ginnie: You would have been astounded by her dry sense of wit, Kanyi. We'll never forget her! Thanks for checking her out. That means a lot to me.
She may rest is peace.
Ginnie: She was so ready to go, CISI. I'm sure she's very glad to be resting now!
I'm sorry for the loss you, Ruth, and your extended family has suffered. I visited your other blog and found your tribute there. This image is very fitting.
Ginnie: Thank you, Sherri, for checking out my other site. She was a woman to be reckoned with! We'll never forget her.
That sounds like a good long life, but this is always sad no matter who the funeral is for.
Ginnie: It's always a "final" shock, Martin...you're so right, even though we were expecting and WANTING it for her. She was so ready to go. Thanks.
Graphic mastery here, Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, dear Ray!
Auntie Sue lived a long life and finally she found her peace of which I am sure of, the weaping willow will be blowing in the wind....she would have loved the polder.
Ginnie this is a nice tribute to her, love the capture very much, my thoughts are with you today, for you will not be able to attend the funeral.
Ginnie: My only peace, lieve Astrid, was that I saw her last fall and said my Good-Byes. I purposely made that trip then because I was afraid she would go while I was in Amsterdam...and she did! She was quite the woman. We'll never forget her. Thank you for your kind words!
A very touching pic for your aunt who lived a long and rich life, I presume that she has died now "lebenssatt" ,"und wenn es köstlich gewesen ist, so ist es Mühe und Arbeit gewesen" (Psalm 90:10,Lutheran translation). R.i.p. My thoughts are with you today- what for a beginning of this year for you and your dears! But the times are always changing and every day may be full of hope and confidence!
Ginnie: Dear, dear Philine. Yes. What a year thus far! But at least this death was expected and longed for. She was so ready to go. And we know she is at peace. Thank you.
My sympathy for losing a generation. I think I remember her from you other blog - you recently had an 'article' there?
Great tribute.
Ginnie: Yes, Louis, you remember well. It IS a generation that is now "lost." When you get to that age, it is such a strange feeling! Thank you.
What a beautiful tribute, Ginnie. I understand what you mean. I guess at the magnificent age of 97, you have to celebrate and marvel at your Aunt`s longevity. But it is sad to lose that last link, and know it is the end of an era.
Ginnie: It's the end of that link and era that is almost the hardest, Roz. She did not live near any of us, so I was lucky if I saw her once every 2 years. But she will be missed, even though we are glad she can now rest in peace. She was so ready to go.
Beautiful tribute to your Aunt Sue Ginnie. May she rest in peace. Please receive my sympathy.
Ginnie: Thank you so very much, Richard. That means a lot!
A long, full life should be celebrated yet it is still hard not to be sad. This is a lovely and fitting tribute.
Ingrid
Ginnie: It's funny, Ingrid, but there is no sadness today, other than losing that generation. She was so ready to go and we so wanted her to be free at last. It's always a shock when it's "final," of course. Thanks.
Lets thank God for long life . May she rest in Peace .
Ginnie: Indeed, Shakara. Indeed. Thanks.
I am so close to my aunties so feel your loss.
Ginnie: We did not live close to her, Mary, and so only saw her once every 2 years or so. Our loss, of course. But she was so ready to go. We all are happy for her! Thanks.
Oh non - I'm so sad for you and you have my sympathies. This is a beautiful tribute. Love your words "how can you weep after all those years" - how true. But you can, none the less.
Ginnie: For some reason, Martie, I have had no tears. We didn't live close by and so only saw her once every 2 years. But we know she was so ready to go, so we have been nothing but happy for her. The grief is in losing that generation. It's now like we're totally on our own!
These slender branches are beautiful. I wish we could be there in VA at her funeral today, you and I.
Ginnie: Yes, Ruth. I know. I feel the loss of our presence there more than anything. Susan and Nancy will be there for us! Thanks.
great texture in the wall and I like the memorance ambiance in the photo. My condolences
Ginnie: Thank you, Chantal. Believe it or not, that's the sky with a canvas filter. But I can see how it looks like a wall. Thank you for your condolences!
My condoleances Ginnie, for your Anty Susan Elizabeth, may she rest in the needed peace, she deserves to rest after such a hight age,
Please visit My abc W-day, with I for IOS , quess what's "Ios" ? Thanks for your KIND words when IOs was sick And I wish you a great time with Ruth in Amsterdam... Enjoy!! Greetings from JoAnn and "I.."
Ginnie: Yes, JoAnn, she deserves to rest! My sentiments exactly!
So glad Ios is back to normal. It's not Ruth who is here with now but her daughter and boyfriend. We will certainly enjoy them!
Great shot and wonderful processing.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Reza.
Another image just perfect for the sad occasion Ginne, you are certainly having a sad time at the moment.
Ginnie: Actually, this death was not that sad for our family, Brian, because we knew she was so ready to go and she had lived such a long life. Like I said, how can you weep after all those years! But thank you for your sense of sympathy. That means a lot.
She was clearly quite a character, glad you were able to see her one last time.
Ginnie: Yes, Bill. She was. And thank you.
The full circle being completed ... many good memories I expect for you Ginnie. richard
Ginnie: Yes, Richard. Many memories and a completed circle. Thanks.
Condolences Ginnie and a perfect image. Mike
Ginnie: Thank you, kind sir.
Ginnie I feel very sorry for you.
This picture is a nice tribute. This is oniric. I'm also sorry not to be able to be more present on SC these days but it's rather difficult for me at the moment. But be sure that I don't forget you.
Ginnie: Your words and thoughts are very meaningful, Flo. Don't you worry one bit about when/if you're "present" here on SC. I feel you when you are here. Thank you.
Oh gosh, I am sorry. You're having a bit of a time of it. these things seem to come in batches in my experience. But she had great innings god bless her.
Ginnie: They say they come in threes! Before Donica' mom it was Donica's 55-year-old cousin just a month before. So maybe now we'll have a respite?! Thanks, Dave.
May she rest in perfect peace. Lovely shot.
Ginnie: Thank you for that comment, Saratu!
Marvelous inimalist!
Ginnie: It seemed right for the moment, Still. Thank you.
Sorry Ginnie, I was captured by the image and I have not see the text. Its always sad when a people die... I hope that she has had a good and happy life, and I'm sure that you will keep her memory.
Ginnie: No apologies needed, Still. But thank you regardless! Yes, she lived a full and rich life. We all who knew her are better because of her!
Commiserations Ginnie; rest in peace.
Ginnie: Thank you, Chris. We are happy for her release!
Simple but effective Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Les!
No point in weeping Ginnie - sounds like a life well lived to me
Ginnie: Exactly, Chris. Exactly!
I'm sad for you, you have to stand two deaths next to you in so short time ... This photo is so quiet ... and simple ... Well spotted ...
Ginnie: There was another death, Ann, a month before Mom, in January (Donica's cousin). So it was January, February and March! If things do indeed come in threes, maybe now we all can rest in peace for awhile!
I'm so sorry to hear the news, Ginnie. I remember you telling me about your Auntie.
I am so sure she is very happy and at peace with all of her family/friends by her side. I love your beautiful photo/caption to her. I read your blog post. What a wonderful and witty person she was...so much like those in her generation.
Ginnie: You are so sweet, Kay, to go read about Auntie Sue. Thank you so much. You are right beside me as a true friend!
After all the comments about your "other blog" I figured I'd better find out about it! (I didn't know you had one!)What a touching piece about Auntie Sue - I'll bet she'd have a few comments to add from her "new home" if it were possible for her to convey them to you in the here-and-now.
You've had a rough season; I'm glad you have the support and love of some many dear friends and relatives!
Ginnie: Your words have deeply touched me, Patrushka! Thank you so very much! They say these things come in threes! If so, after Sam, Mom and Auntie Sue (one in each of the year's 3 months thus far), we should now be done for awhile!
Nice tribute !
And all my sympathy !
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, dear Zeb.
