Great selective coloring achieved here! I love the awe that has come over the gentleman's face in the foreground.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Steven. That happens to be my 18-year-old g'son who was visiting us in June, standing next to my wife, Astrid. smile

Don't forget to look up smile
Ginnie Hart: Exactly. After I saw this on the big screen, I loved how Nicholas and the little boy were doing the same thing. smile

Something we always do in cathedrals, looking up in wonder. Perhaps expectation?
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chris! Both!

Looking up in wonder here and short of eyes, Ginnie. I love the "two kids" in selective colouring looking up.. great memories here.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Astrid. I loved, when I saw this on the big screen, that Nicholas and the little boy were both looking up. smile

What a lovely selective colouring image! Yes, here we have to lift up our eyes and hearts! I have been there on last Sunday.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Philine. So you know why we look up in that cathedral!

Things are looking up. I've been known to lay on my back to look and photograph the ceilings or such places. I like the hats of the kids; all told to protect their heads from the fierce sun.

Isn't Thanksgiving tomorrow?
Ginnie Hart: Yes, tomorrow is Thanksgiving, Alan, but in America it's the entire week, truth be told...preparing, traveling, etc. My g'son flies early this morning from Oregon to Atlanta. And of course, there's football Saturday, usually the last season's game of the year for college football. The Spirit is already in full force, trust me.
Wat een leuke foto allemmaal, een heel rijtje, omhoog kijkend naar ??
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolkein. I wish I remember what they saw but knowing that cathedral, it was wonderful. smile
Magnifique photo !! l'effet rendu est vraiment super ..
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Claudine.

I like the look of wonder on that lad’s face Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Which lad, Chad??? smile The big one is g'son Nicholas. The little one only God knows who!
A fine picture of a happy memory Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Bill. It is definitely a happy memory.
cooooool... this shot reminds me of that movie 'pleasantville'... where the world and everything was in black and white, and then colour started happening, here and there... neat shot
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Elaine. What I loved most about this, after I saw it on the big screen, was how the little boy was looking up like Nicholas was. It was such a nice surprise. smile

I really like the mix of black and white and color on this picture. I do not know how to do. Happy thanksgiving also Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Marie. Once you know how to do it, it's super easy. If you were here right now, I'd show you. smile

You were thinking outside of the box for this photo. I like the mixture of colour and B&W.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Andy. Thank you.
A fine image Ginnie, I like the colour pop. When we visited the cathedral back in 2003 a visting choir from somewhere in your homeland was giving a mid-morning concert of sacred and secular music, it sounded wonderful echoing round that magnificent building.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Brian. I can just imagine what that choir must have sounded like, especially to your ears!

Two boys looking up, was probably the theme for selective colouring. I haven't seen a picture of Nicholas during the last few years - maybe it was with his previous visit. So I end up with the thought that he has grown up - almost before my eyes. The first time you showed him (that I can remember) was when when he was a tyke, like the youngster with the orange jacket. So, I found another reason for selective colouring - the comparison of how he has grown up on SC.

Happy thanksgiving to you two.
Ginnie Hart: He actually surprises me, too, Louis, and I see him at least once every year! smile Thank you for your kind words.
Fun selective colors in this image. I am thankful for family and friends also. You, included!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ruthie!
Haha, someone else is looking up as well, Ginnie. Wonderful job with the selective colouring. I understand that the Thanksgiving holiday in the States is even a bigger event than Christmas. Do you celebrate an American type Thanksgiving in Holland?
Ginnie Hart: No, Beverly. There is really no facsimile of Thanksgiving here in Holland, so it's the one holiday I miss the most. I'm just lucky this year, however, that my sister and BIL made the real Thanksgiving meal for us when we were in Michigan a couple weeks ago for my SIL's funeral. It really was wonderful.
I have never seen colouring like this. Very cool!
Ginnie Hart: Well, then. Thanks, Mary.
Nice one, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Tom.

I know at what Astrid and Nicholas are looking up: at the stained glass window by Gerhard Richter - https://www.gerhard-richter.com/en/art/other/glass-and-mirrors-105/cologne-cathedral-window-14890/?p=1 - I took some pictures of it.
Ginnie Hart: I'm sure you're right, Philine! Bedankt.

Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Anne.
> Looks cool with your grandson in colour.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Jacquelyn. He's pretty cool to me. HA!
Love the selective coloring... Handsome lad...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Larry. He IS handsome to me, but then I get to be prejudiced as his g'ma. smile
