A Mid-Week Break

Getting used to a new laptop after 9 years on Windows 7.

Yup.  Going around in circles! HA!

[Did you know you can get the Windows 7 look for Windows 10?  Yes, we did!]

I always imagine these big wheels breaking free and doing their rolling thing, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Oh my, Ray. Off into the watery sunset?!
What a great shot, what did you do to this? Because that sky doesn't look like a 1/500s sky smile
Ginnie Hart: You know me, Frank, with manipulation tools we get to play with, right?? smile
This is a terrific image, Ginnie! I just love the lighting and the sky!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Elizabeth.

Ginnie Hart: That's why you say you never trust photos you see, right?! smile So fun to have new laptops after all these years. I'm guessing this one will last me the rest of my life. HA!

I saw one of these wheels at a UK seaside yesterday Ginnie. Maybe they're everywhere these days..
Ginnie Hart: Interestingly, Chris, it was not there when we took Nicholas 3 years ago, so this one is new for us here.
Wouah...magnifique photo ..
Bon courage pour le nouvel ordinateur !
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Claudine. So far so good with the new laptop. It's fun having something so new and so much better!

Ferris wheels seem to spring up in the UK over the "festive season" (ie anytime between late September and January sad ) I like the stark contrast with this. Good luck with the new laptop. I think I have a Windows 7 look on my Windows 10 virtual machine on my MacBook; no idea how that happened, though!
Ginnie Hart: This wheel was new for us this time, Alan, but I hope it stays and is not seasonal. It looks to be a fixed contraption. Anyway, our techie guy is dyslexic and told us he has the Windows 7 look and wondered if we'd want it, too...otherwise we would have never known about it.
You are wise to get the windows 7 look. Windows 8 and 10 look like they were designed for preschool children
Ginnie Hart: Well, then. It was a no-brainer for us, Bill. So glad we had the option.

Oh, I saw this ferris wheeel in Scheveningen on a bright, very sunny summerday with masses of people. I am using Windows 10 ,too
Ginnie Hart: It was fun to see the Ferris wheel this time, Philine. Glad you got to see it, too! It wasn't there 3 years ago when we took Nicholas.

Goh, hier ben ik in geen eeuwigheid geweest.
Mooie foto
En goed dat het al lekker loopt met windows 10
Ginnie Hart: All's well that ends well, I keep saying. Bedankt, Marjolein.
even chopped off, this looks awesome smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Rob. smile

This is a very impressive picture Ginnie with bags of atmosphere.
Ginnie Hart: It's gotta be good whenever you get bags of atmosphere, Chad. HA! Thanks.
This big wheel is superb against a background of intense blue. I really like
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Marie. Merci.
'lemme go round in circles, lemme fly high like a bird up in the sky lalala' this picture looks a little ominous lol skeery merry go round! love the processing!
Ginnie Hart: Ghostly, yes? Well, sometimes that's what we need to get through the day. HA! Thanks.
Woaww, très beau, et avec ce ciel en arrière plan, un moment magique !
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Pascale. Merci.

The contrast gives the scene a lot of drama... nice.
Ginnie Hart: Figuring out this new laptop is very dramatic, Andy. HA! Thanks.
I like whatever you've done to this in the way of an effect. I am still on Windows 7 and plan to remain so at least for the forseeable future, it does everything I want and after "fighting" off Microsoft for that long period they tried to force us to upgrade I won't give in just yet, hopdfully my PC still has a few years in it yet.
Ginnie Hart: We heard that Microsoft will no longer support Windows 7 in 2019, Brian, which is why we decided to do it now. The laptop upgrade is unbelievable. I'm hoping it will be my last one ever!!! smile

Excellent use of lighting to make this ferris wheel stand out beautifully against the sky and water!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Steven.
Lovely image, Ginnie... If I'm not mistaken, you used an ND filter and a long exposure on this, didn't you?

And good luck getting used to Doze 10... It won't be very tough... smile
Ginnie Hart: I did use a filter (Topaz), Sudipto, but not with a long exposure. Filters are fun, aren't they. So far so good on Windows 10, probably because it has the Windows 7 look, mainly?
You have created some magic here. Love the luminous clouds.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Mary.

courage avec Windows 10 Ginnie..

une très belle photo avec cet angle de vue

greetings
Ginnie Hart: Lucky for me that my Windows 10 has the Windows 7 look, Willy, otherwise the learning curve would be much worse. But thanks anyway.
wow this is dramatic with the deep sky, Ginnie. good luck with the new acquisition.
Ginnie Hart: We're loving our new laptops, Ayush, and are getting used to them. Very cool. And thanks.

oh, i love the drama here, ginnie

a fantastic result
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Sherri.
Moving to 10?
Ginnie Hart: 10 is a must these days, Larry, because Microsoft will soon no longer support 7. We were lucky to find out you can download a 7 look-alike for 10, without the learning curve. In the process, we were also able to get top of the line laptops with all the bells and whistles. I fully expect mine to last me the rest of my life. Seriously!

WOWZA what an incredible image! Glad things are moving along with the new laptop purchase!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Robin. By now we're pretty much used to our new laptops and are loving them. WOW! After 9 years on the old laptops, you can see how much has changed in the tech world!
