Windmill Friday

When there is beauty even behind the scenes!

(the back side of a stitchery framed in our Gorcums Museum, NL)

A heads-up that I'll be off SC from now thru Monday, 8 October, while my son visits from Atlanta.

Wonderful capture, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
How very cool to see the back of this stitchery!

Enjoy your time with your son!!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Elizabeth, and thank you.
Bon séjour avec ton fils !
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine.
Même le verso est impressionnant, tous ces fils croisés... Impressionnant !
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It makes me want to look at the back side of stitcheries more often, Pascale.

All very complex stuff Ginnie. Have a good time with your son
Ginnie Hart: Who knew there could be that much beauty "behind" like that, Chris. Well, actually I knew but never thought it would be worth framing that way!
My mom always told me when I was doing cross-stitch; "the back needs to be as nice as the back....".
I think this is a super way of presenting this work of art. Love it, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: it's hard for the back to be as nice as the front, Astrid, but I get what your mom meant. It doesn't need to look sloppy! I think I told you this was my biggest surprise at this particular exhibition.
Superbe , quelle bonne idée !
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It's innovative, Claudine, isn't it!

this is an interesting find, Ginnie. good idea to look at the rear every now and then. and i wish you a wonderful time ahead with your son! i assume it is not his first time visiting you?
Ginnie Hart: The surprise of this stitchery, Ayush, is that it was framed like this, which I love. But no, this will be Mark's first time to visit us. We're all very excited.

Spaghetti art.

Enjoy your time and teach him all about 'haring' and 'gerookte paling'.
Ginnie Hart: Spaghetti art, indeed, HA! But I'm wondering if Mark will want to try haring??? We'll see!

I am happy to know I am not the only person who likes the underside of needlework!

An eye-catching find behind the stitchery! Have a fantabulous time with your son!
Ginnie Hart: Stitcheries are quite amazing in this regard, Steven, but who would have thought of framing the work showing THIS side. I love it. Thank you.
Have fun with Mark!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Mary. We plan to. smile
What an interesting way of looking at it. Have a great time with your son.
Ginnie Hart: It is, indeed, Brian, and thank you.

What an interesting perspective! Enjoy your family time!
Ginnie Hart: It's fun to think outside the box, Robin, isn't it! And yes, we DID enjoy our time with Mark. He is now safely back in Atlanta.
Ce côté face est vraiment très joli, j'aime l'effet rouille.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Pascale. It's fun to look at things from a different perspective, isn't it!
One of your best...

I had been told that a good streetcher (? how do you say it?) should be able to do as well on both side!
Ginnie Hart: How interesting, Anne. Astrid's mom always told her when she was stitching to make sure the back was as beautiful as the front!
