Très beau joueur de harpe.
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Martine. Merci.
The curves to the right really set the composition up.
Ginnie Hart: He sits so "on high," Michael, up near the rafters of the church. I decided not to take them out. HA! Thanks.

a new holiday for me

again, so ornate
Ginnie Hart: It's a new holiday for me, too, Sherri. When I first moved here, it was Queen's Day! Then she abdicated and gave the throne to her first son. smile
A nice detail, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I saw it this past Saturday and realized it would be perfect for today, Frank. Thanks.
This is beautiful!
And Happy King's Day to you - and now you have your wife ALL to yourself!
If I could only win the lottery, and retire... I'll keep dreaming! smile
Ginnie Hart: Your time will come, Elizabeth, trust me. I've been retired since 2005 but always with a working spouse. So this is a totally new phase for me as well!!!

Great composition. Not sure how you get those colors...but it's striking
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you. It's fun when we find the manipulation tools that fit us, isn't it. smile

What a great find that is and I love this treatment, Ginnie. And what a day to celebrate wink... my first day of retirement.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Astrid. It seems so appropriate that the first day of the rest of our lives together, retired, is a holiday! We are so lucky!!!

I could imagine a lot of people being proud to be Dutch Ginnie. This is a fine old musical King
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Chris. And on King's Day it is so much fun watching the extended Royal Family having contact with the commoners, this year in Groningen.
Superbe sculptre , je crois bien n'en avoir jamais vu ..J'aime beaucoup !
Ginnie Hart: The thing is, Claudine, it's way up high where most people don't even see it, I'm sure. Merci.

A strange sculpture in that he does not look as if he has a clue as to how to hold an play the harp Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Well, you may be right, Chad. I wonder who he is...and why he's way up so high where almost no one can see him???
Superbe la compo et le traitement de ce cliché également.
Bise et bonne journée Mireille
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Pascale. Merci.
Heuuuuu Pardon, pas Mireille, mais Ginnie, je suis confuse ;-)
Ginnie Hart: No problem, Pascale. I didn't even notice. smile

Oh yes, I heard yesterday about the Koningsdag today, and today there will be some jubilating and rejoicing in the House Ginnie & Astrid, too. The weather is wonderful! We heard why your King was called Willem Alexander and not Willem IV.
Ginnie Hart: Astrid just told me about Willem Alexander's name. He didn't want to be named like a cow, Greta 1, 2 or 3. HA! I love it.

ah yes, i know exactly where he is perched, Ginnie. very nice close up!
Ginnie Hart: I spotted him the minute we walked into the church, Ayush. I was lucky my camera could zoom in on him. smile Thanks.
Mooie koninklijke harpspeler
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein. Perfect for today.

Is this King David, Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: That's my same question, Lisl. I haven't been able to find anything about it yet.
Ha! I wonder what sort of title will Meghan get from the Queen next month? Duchess of California, perhaps? wink

Hey, only one King in the NE?
We have nine Kings in Malaysia!
They all take turns to become the Supreme Head every four (maybe five, I can't remember well) years.

But I'm not a monarchy fan. I believe that we're all born equal. wink
Ginnie Hart: The fun thing about King's Day, LC, which is unique to the Netherlands (according to Astrid), is that they are out-n-about in whatever city it is that year, hobnobbing with the commoners as though they, too, were common...joking around, having fun, etc. I love watching it. You forget that they are royalty.
Happy King's Day to you! I like this majestic image = with such a commanding point of view.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ruthie. He definitely has the overall view of the place.

My wife is a King's Day harpie. So, the tv has been broadcasting all morning today.

A special message to you on your wife's first paid jobless day. Be strong, I know it can sometimes be a bit difficult to have one's wife over the floor, all of the time. Fortunately, mine started working again, last year. Keeps her out of my hair, most of the time...
Ginnie Hart: Astrid and I will both have our own lives separate from each other as well as together, which is what will keep us out of each other's hair, Louis. The main thing is that we will be spontaneous together, whenever we want! YAY for that!
I really do like this picture, your composition is spot on. I hope you've got better weather for your Lings Day than we have over here, it looks as though all sorts goes on.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Brian. The weather is dry, which is the most important thing today for all the outside activities. Not much sun where we are but dry!

It must be King David, I saw this figure often sitting on organs, apart from angels ...
Ginnie Hart: I assumed it was Kind David, Philine. Who else, right??!! smile Thanks.

I wonder is the statue was modelled on any particular king? I wonder what the harp and organ sound like together?
Ginnie Hart: I'm guessing it's King David, Alan, but who knows for sure? I couldn't find it anywhere. Wouldn't it be something if the harp actually played and was somehow coordinated with the playing of the organ!

hope you had a good day! and now you are both queens, and every day is queen's day!!! pretty pic!
Ginnie Hart: HA! No longer queens for a day but queens EVERY day. I like that, Elaine. smile
I see our new royal Bambino has a Shutterchance member's name
Ginnie Hart: I noticed that, too, Louis...I mean, Bill. smile
> I like your shot Ginnie a lot!!
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Jacquelyn.
You do such a nice job with your processing Ginnie...
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Larry!

A perfect capture so appropriate for the day!! The gold harp and crown stand out nicely here.
Ginnie Hart: It did seem perfect for the day, Steven. Thank you.
Well the perfect day to coincide with Astrid's retirement! Yippee!
Ginnie Hart: I thought so, too, Robin. We'll never forget the date because it's the King's birthday!!!
Day of rest? I imagine the other days holding the sword.
As always, a happy shot.
Ginnie Hart: A harp or a sword...take your pick? I like that, Claudio.
