Echt een mooie sfeervolle schemeropname. Fijne woensdag
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein. In this case, it was early morning...but it probably would have looked the same at twilight! smile

Atmospheric, blue, early-morning scene - worth getting up for, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: The strange thing, Lisl, is that it was around 9:30! I tweaked it a bit to make it seem darker but that morning took a long time to wake up. smile

Oh yes, an atmospheric image - how early have you been there? No boats, no car, no hordes of tourists!
Ginnie Hart: It was around 9:30 when I took this, Philine, after Astrid and I picked Nelson up at Schiphol and parked at the AJAX arena and then took the Metro into the city. Amsterdam took a long time to wake up that day...but then it WAS Sunday. smile

That is very blue Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I must have had Elvis on my mind, Chad?!
A nice mood in this picture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. The days tell us that sometimes it's okay to be blue!

Lovely hues here...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ray.
Hum...magnifique photo !
Très belle ambiance
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Claudine. Sometimes it's okay to be blue. smile

C'est une très belle photo de nuit.
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Martine. It actually was early morning but it could have been at twilight and maybe would have looked the same?!
Très bel effet, et manifestement l'eau ne manque pas.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Pascale. The water reflections were an added touch to the magic for me.
magnifique nocturne!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: ...or morning, as the case happened to be, JP. It's a great time of the day, both dawn and twilight! Merci.
A fine shot, at first I thought you were what my Mum called a 'stop out late' now I read you were a 'get up early', it was worth the effort.
Ginnie Hart: We did get up early to meet my brother at the airport for his 7:15 arrival, Brian, but this was closer to 9:30 a.m., believe it or not (with a bit of tweaking on my end).

Thanks, I have never seen the Magere Brug like this. It makes a great picture.
Ginnie Hart: It's such a magical place in Amsterdam, Louis, isn't it! Thanks.
Magere Bridge! I remember this bridge.

We must have a rendezvous on that bridge when I visit you. smile

Ha ha... No way! I am going to France next week. How did you know?! wink

Gotta brush up my rubbish French a bit, I guess.
Ginnie Hart: ONE DAY, LC, and we will meet up with you...somewhere! Promise me!

I especially like the coloured reflections on the water. I like the illuminations in the bridge, too.
Ginnie Hart: Those colored reflections were an added plus for me that day, Alan. Thanks for noticing.

Beautiful morning capture, Ginnie!! The lighting, color and reflections are splendid
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Steven. It makes me want to try capturing it more often.
I take many blue hour shots - twice a day since I am an early riser.
Ginnie Hart: Good for you, Mary!!!

What a beautiful picture, Ginnie. We were so lucky that the lights were stil on and gave that wonderful scene. It was funny to see that one part of the light went off while we were watching.
Love the 'ghostly' look. And we should do this more often to be in Amsterdam that early on a Sunday. (Van Gogh Museum and Wagamama???)
Ginnie Hart: Van Gogh and Wagamama! It's a date!!! grin
I'd still love to return and retrace my steps after well over 50 years it is such an atmospheric city
Ginnie Hart: I wonder if it would seem at all changed to you after all these years, Martin. If you ever DO get back, let us know, in case we can join you! smile
just in time for the blue moon...
Ginnie Hart: Not something I'm always in time for, Larry, to be honest!
i like the smooth treatment you imparted to the skies, Ginnie. a quiet time of the day.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush. 'Quiet' is a good word for what this felt like that Sunday.
Very nicely done, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Michael.
Oh so beautiful, Ginnie! You did a terrific job on this night shot!
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Elizabeth, even if it's in the morning...but basically the same difference, of course.
did you ever see the movie 'China Blue' i think it's called... not that your picture makes me think of man hating haha, it doesn't, it's just the blue in it soooo beautiful, so pervasive... sorry it took me so long to comment, your post didn't show up for me yesterday!
Ginnie Hart: Don't think I've ever seen that movie, no, Elaine, but I get your point. Our site had "issues" for several hours on Wednesday, so no wonder you couldn't access it. Thanks for persisting.
That BLUE is just gorgeous!
Beautiful night shot with the lights that are lost on the water.
