Mini-Parthenon 1 of 2
As I have said before, I LOVE anything in miniature.
So here's another week of Mini-Europe in Brussels, Belgium. This is the PARTHENON in Athens, Greece...in Brussels, Belgium. (as seen last July, 2008)

Wonderful as always,...now where's Astrid to stick her hand in the shot!
Ginnie: HA! Astrid was there but was being very good! Thanks, Ken, for the smile.
Loved the architecture. Nicely captured!!
Ginnie: One day 'd like to see this with my own eyes! Thanks, Pravin.
Where are all the little Greeks?
Ginnie: HA! Good question, Larry. They didn't even place tourists in the miniature!
Clever art-work...beautiful photograph.
Ginnie: I have always loved this kid of artwork, Ray, and would have been good at it, if I had ever been employed by such a place. I love fine, detailed minutiae!
HA...LOL @ Ken....this was a kind of 'touch and your dead' thing, so I backed out...
Great shot MLS, we both saw this in real life, I did in 1977, amazing structure and again they did a really good job at Mini-Europe, it was worth-while. ....and to answer Larry....it was lunchtime, they were all at the small cafeteria....3 feet to the left.
Ginnie: HA, indeed. Actually, I saw THIS in real life but never the real thing. One day, maybe. That would be a nice dream, don't you think?! And maybe we could even touch there? Ontzettend bedankt, MLMAMV.
Good grief - those Belgians!
Ginnie: I know what you mean, Chris.
I like it
Ginnie: Glad you do, Vintage!
Oh, your pic awakes my desire to see the impressive Parthenon in reality again - I like how the sunrays are falling onto the columns..- a fine pic- and we have to look up- did you crawl on the ground?
Ginnie: One day I would like to see the real thing, Philine, for sure. It would be a dream come true. And NO, I did not even have to bend down for this one. A lot of the displays are at eye level, like this one. Bedankt.
Well it's a good mini replica Ginnie.
Ginnie: I totally agree, Sir Chad! Thanks.
I had to do a quick reality check before I realised that this was miniature version. The wall in the foreground gave it away. Nicely done, though.
Ginnie: That entire place would blow your mind, Alan. Everything there is so realistic! I love it. Thanks.
Beautiful perspective and processing Ginnie, took a second to realise that it was a miniature
Ginnie: I know, Tony...that's what I love about miniatures...so realistic! Thanks.
What a wonderful miniture structure, it's amazing what can be done. You have taken this from the perfect angle mijn vriend.
Ginnie: Thank you, Musketeer. I have always been so fascinated by miniatures!
I won't have guessd it was a miniature if you hadn't mentioned it. Combined with the trees in the background and foreground,it looks real to me.
Ginnie: One day I'd like to see the real thing, Navin. In the meantime, I'm glad for a "perfect" replica. Thanks.
Never knew of this: very clever, and good processing too!
Ginnie: Ontzettend bedankt, Wim. Are you saying you never knew of Mini-Europe in Brussels? For how close it is to you, one day you will need to go when Marcus is old enough to appreciate it. It'll be one way for him to see Europe!
A great way to see all the beautiful buildings in the world ;-) This is beautiful. I would love to see it for real.
Ginnie: I totally agree, Frida. I have never seen this one either in real life but hope to one day. It would be a dream come true.
I oove all the brick lines
Ginnie: They were fun to include, Chantal. Bedankt.
A beautiful reconstitution. Very nicely captured Ginnie!
Ginnie: One day I'd like to see the real thing, Richard. Merci.
it seems real
Ginnie: That's why I love miniatures, Xavi!
amazingly real HC
Ginnie: Exactly, HC. That's why I love miniatures so much. The amount of detail mesmerizes me! Thanks.
tres belle maquette !
Ginnie: Merci, Rem!
Even with the chicks holding the building at the back on their heads.
If you had cut the bottom wall out, you would have been able to sell it to me as the real article
Ginnie: HA! I knew YOU would see the chicks, Louis!
This replica is fascinating, the details are amazing. Excellent shot Ginnie, with the lighting and the framing with the trees this definitely looks real. I can see why you really are impressed with these miniatures.
Ginnie: I could have made a career out of making miniature, John, if ever I had had the chance. I love doing fine, detailed work with my hands. So this place was a paradise for me. Thanks.
it's an excellent and beautiful replica indeed!
Ginnie: Thank you, Rian. I really love these models!
Very well taken Ginnie, I like all the detail the modeller has built in to this.
Ginnie: That's what I love about these models, Brian...all the details. I love intricate stuff like this! Thanks.
This way you don't have people milling around the building ruining photo ops. Great job, Ma'am.
Ginnie: Exactly, Mary.
Difficult to tell this is a miniature Ginnie, the low angle really helps the overall perception of the image.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Les!
A very good photo.
Congratulations for the photo. Bernardo
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Bernardo, for stopping by and commenting. BTW, I LOVE Barcelona, one of the greatest cities of Europe!
I didn't realize it was a miniature either, and then I saw the thousand-foot tall trees in the background. Nothing will make you question your perspective like an obvious thousand-foot tall tree!
Ginnie: The trees ARE a dead give-away, Alex, for sure.
Taken a little closer..and it would have looked real. Marvelous miniature Ginnie.
Ginnie: You're right, Ron. Maybe my next shot will seem more real? We'll see. Thanks.
Would've fooled me if you said this was the actual Parthenon
Ginnie: As we say, Mia, you can fool some of the people some of the time.
It is so impressive - minature or not
Ginnie: One day I want to see the real thing with my own eyes! Thanks, Evita.
wow..such a crystal clear image..
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Suyash!
a mini-parthenon? funny!
Ginnie: Yup! I guess you had to be there.
I wondered why there were no people in this shot...not small enough! Heh, heh!
Ginnie: HA! It would make a good bird house, maybe?
Wow they did a great job with these recreations! Your processing makes it look even more real!
Ginnie: Thanks, Andy. I love this place!
i actually thought it was d real thing and was wondering why they weren't any people around
Ginnie: The funny thing, Bandoras, is that some of the models DO have mini-people in/around them. Don't know why this one doesn't. Thanks.
A fine pocket sized Parthenon Ginnie
Ginnie: Thanks, Bill. It wouldn't fit in MY pocket but I'm sure it would in yours.
just awesome structure shown here. i like the natural sunlight shining in!
Ginnie: We had a beautiful day, Liang, for seeing these models. I felt so lucky. Thanks.
the columns on this are just outstanding and so is the platform of foundation. Love the light hitting just the one side!
Ginnie: This place was so much fun, Heather. You would have had a heyday there doing your portrait shots against these as backgrounds! Thanks.
Incredible Ginnie .. don't looks like a miniature .. well captured
Ginnie: That's what I love about these models, Klaus. They are so darn-tootin' realistic.
LOL not caught out by this one Ginnie - no guards with guns to stop you climbing on it. Went to see the real thing on my first trip abroad on my own, made a big impression - the photos I took look like Ingrid's Holga photos ;o)
Ginnie: Wow! What a great first trip abroad, Mike. One day I want to see this with my own eyes!! Thanks.
And again I wouldn't have noticed it was a miniature, but what do I know? Rhetorical question. Lovely tones.
Ginnie: The more real it looks, Sherri, the better the miniature, as far as I'm concerned. You'd love this place.
Lovely capture and post processing
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Mirco.
Amazing work on this miniture, lovely capture Ginnie
Ginnie: You'd love this place, Aussie! It's a great spot for a photo hunt.
Amazing shot.
Ginnie: Thanks, Kanyi.
Hard to believe this is a miniature model. You've certainly made it larger-than-life!!!
Ginnie: It really feels larger than life when you are there, Marcie. You'd love it. Thanks.
Clean and crisp composition Ginnie. Its professional class.
Ginnie: Thank you, Thomas.
Very cool shot, its a pretty spiffy mini!
Ginnie: I love this place, Brian. Can you tell?
That is so cool.
Ginnie: Now if only I can see the real thing some day, Michael!
Lovely photo and tones
Ginnie: Thanks, Debola, for stopping by and commenting!
