Mini-Ferris Wheel
Many of you know I love ferris wheels AND miniatures!
This one is at Mini-Europe in Brussels, Belgium, and is at eye level. (as seen last July, 2008) Have a great weekend! (It's our July 4th Independence Day holiday weekend here in the States.)

I do like the shallow depth of field in this one Ginnie. The ride itself looks quite sad though with a single rider on it.
Ginnie: Yes, Les, it does look sad for him to be alone. Hmmm. Wonder why they didn't stick some kids in there next to him?? Thanks.
Wow! Fantastic...this one had me going there, just for a minute, Ginnie, as if it were real!
Ginnie: I do like how realistic these miniatures are, Alex! They can fool some of the people some of the time.
that sure is a treat..
Ginnie: It is for me, too, Rian.
Amazing picture, I try to remember this fella having all the fun in the world....(cannot)
Once you and I will be in the Ferris wheel on the Dam in Amsterdam..... Ik hoop dat je een goed weekend zal hebben.
Ginnie: That will be the day, MLMA, when we will be in one together...anywhere in the world!
I love the view. It almost looks large.
Ginnie: Actually, Michael, for a miniature it was very large.
At first, i was like how did she take that
Ginnie: Exactly, Bandoras. Very "old school" indeed.
Thats so nice. I like your style of photography
Ginnie: Ohhh, sorry about that, Pravin, but POV is Point of View. No question is dumb when you don't know the answer, so thanks for asking...and thanks for your comment!
He looks lonely Ginnie - a hunk like that all on his own!
Ginnie: HA! Poor thing. But he did seem to manage just fine, Chris.
A fine detail of the ferris wheel and I loved the ferris wheels, too -sorry, only one person is sitting there- lol at Astrid!- and it is not the old Prater 'Riesenrad' in Vienna! In general a funny pic and a new experience to realise that we human beans are taller that even a ferris weel!
Ginnie: I'm guessing it's a ferris wheel from somewhere, Philine, but I never paid attention. Hmmmm. I guess I'll have to go back to find out! It sure was fun to see it. Danke.
This is about the right size for a ferris wheel.
We have our book sale tomorrow and there are July 4th celebrations in Droitwich too. Edward Winslow was born in Droitwich http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Winslow
Ginnie: My, my! The things I learn from you fellow SCers! Enjoy your fireworks, then? Thanks, Bill.
DOF is spot on, nice one Ginnie
Ginnie: Why thank you kindly, Tony!
Looks like he is waiting anxiously for his boyfriend, who is already 15 minutes late...
Ginnie: HA! I love it, Ray!
Great Ginnie
Ginnie: Thanks, Vintage...and great to see you're still enjoying your vacation!
The level of detail here is very impressive. I hope Billy No Mates is enjoying his "ride"!
Ginnie: I think he's in a state of Contemplation...about what, who knows! Thanks, Alan.
Nice this looks simply sweet.
Ginnie: It sure was fun to be "on top of it" like this, Chad.
If you have a ferris wheel weekend, don't get too drunk. Make it a mini then
Excellent picture, what with the depth and angle you would have to fight for with a real ferris.
Ginnie: i promise to curb myself, Louis.
Great capture Ginnie! Almost realistic.
Ginnie: "Almost" is so fun, Richard.
I thought this was a real one from the thumbnail Ginnie, nicely taken.
Ginnie: Don't we love it when we can fool each other! Thanks, Brian.
How cool is that! Perhaps you can ride a real one yourself this holiday weekend.
Ginnie: If there is one in town, I may just do that, Mary. I still haven't decided if I'll go somewhere to see the fireworks. This is the first time I've been home for this holiday weekend in eons. We're usually at the lake cottage in Michigan...but this year my niece is getting married on August 1 and I can't go up twice.
Corker Musketeer this is so much fun. I can just imagine you taling these shots, like a kid in a sweet shop
Ginnie: Exactly, Tracy. You do know me.
what's freddy mercury doing in there? shame they couldn't have found him a partner (the model, that is!). terrific shot, ginnie.
Ginnie: I know, I know. Now I'm trying to remember if they DID have a seat with 2 in it! Oh well. Thanks.
Amazing serie Ginnie, wonderfull DOF
Ginnie: Danke, Klaus. I sure did enjoy this place!
If I were a miniature Mia, I still wouldn't dare sit on a rustic ferris wheel
Ginnie: HA! Chicken!!!
The detail of this miniature is tremendous. Great photo of the lonely man....happy weekend. Cheers, HC
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, HC. I was "all alone" this holiday weekend, so this image represented me more than I expected. But I was NOT lonely!
A miniature ferris wheel? How fun!!! Love how it gives you a totally different point of view.
Ginnie: I know, Marcie. When would we ever have a vantage point like this in real life!
I like the shallow dof in this picture. For a second I thought it was a real ferris wheel. Have a nice weekend!
Ginnie: I guess it was very real to the man, Frida?
Not quite a "Third Man" vibe going on here, but I can hear the hurdy gurdy playing the plaintive tune ;o)
Ginnie: Oh yes. It does jar the memory, Mike.
It's a lovely image... but it looks like the mini-ferris wheel operator needs more mini-customers...
Ginnie: I will make a suggestion about that when I go back, Larry! Thanks.
Your photo is superb.
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Sherri.
Good capture Ginnie.
Ginnie: Thank you, Ron.
Happy 4th! Ginnie!!
Ginnie: It came and went so quickly, Ken. Sigh!
Hi Ginnie
Very very nice framing and I love the "magical effect" that makes me feel this object so real
Ginnie: Merci, Kiji. I love how realistic they have made these miniatures!
very well taken
Ginnie: Merci, Olivier!
Ya it does look like a kind of depressing ride with just the lone rider. I wonder why they did not put more riders on it?
Ginnie: It's funny, Andy, but I never once thought about how alone he was when I took the picture. I think there may have been another seat with 2 people in it. I should have chosen IT to capture. Oh well. Thanks.
Lovely capture Ginnie, they went to all that trouble then only put him there all alone.
Ginnie: Kinda makes you wonder why they did it that way, Aussie, for sure! Thanks.
Now that is amazing detail!
Ginnie: It was so fun to see, Christopher. Thanks.
Hope you had a great 4th of july too ginnie!miniature things are always fun to look at!
Ginnie: I watched the festivities on TV, Liang, and that was about the extent of it for me. Very quiet...and alone, kinda like this fella. But I did not feel lonely. Thanks.
Surreal. Nice composition and just a lot of fun.
Ginnie: Yes, indeed, Jane!
