It sure was an amazing day that day out in Brussels, I love your composition and once again we prove that two photographers have their own point of view, een geweldige foto van een prachtig gebouw.
Ginnie: We are definitely the proof of the pudding! I like that!
Great capture Ginnie: it looks huge
Ginnie: It IS huge, Chris. Now I wish I had actually gone inside!!!
Excellent details Ginnie, super capture and composition. Looks like an image right out of a SciFi scene. Really love structure. Can see why both you and Astrid decided to post your fascinating images.
Ginnie: I think we all like sci-fi images, John, projecting out into the future what could be, right!?!
Wow really cool photo and structure! Looks like they could use it for a sci-fi movie!
Ginnie: Exactly, Andy. I wonder if that has ever happened???
Wait, now that I see the stairs!! Omgosh! That is like a giant gerbil cage! Nice reflections here, Ginnie.
Ginnie: You are exactly right, Ken...that's what I thought of, too...a giant gerbil cage.
woah! i guess that's how the terminator's cells look like.. ;D excellent shot!
Ginnie: HA! Exactly, Rian. Thanks.
I left Astrid my comment so I won't repeat again here.
I never knew those tubes are actually escalators connecting to each exhibit hall/space! I guess I was so far away and never really realize the human scale of it. To see it in color is quite different from B&W.
Ginnie: The next time I visit this place, I will plan to go inside, Ti. I think that would be something else! THAT would give the scale of the place and would probably also be a good vantage point for pictures! Thanks.
Love the detail and reflections. This is great, Ginnie!
Ginnie: Next time I'm gonna go inside, BC! Next time! Thanks.
Beautiful stuff, Ginnie, and leaves a quite different impression from the excellent version on Astrid's site.
I always like how people put something of their own into pictures.
Ginnie: I was once a witness to a car accident, Ray, years ago, and had the opportunity to read the description of the accident from two other witnesses, after I had sent in mine. I had the shock of my life when I discovered we all had a different story of the same thing. I have never forgotten it and have found it to be a good parallel to different photos taken of the same thing.
oh! c'est près de chez nous!
très bel angle!
Ginnie: Be prepared, O-P, for a long series of your own backyard.
And I always thought this was a giant model of Brussel's sprouts
Ginnie: HAHAHA! And I love those, too, Bill.
I have never seen this so close up. very interesting.
Ginnie: Next time I w3ill go inside, Chad, and see what pictures can be taken from there!
Wow! A magnificent pic indeed! Particularly the reflections, even the wolkenluchten can be seen! The points of views are really different- and that makes photography -and life- and communication so interesting!
Ginnie: You are so right, Philine. We all are different witnesses to the same things...a lesson to be learned over and over again. Even when we are on the "same page" with someone else, it's liberating to see the differences we still have!
Love both your pics. Hope you have been having a very happy time again.
Ginnie: It's been wonderful to be together again, Aussie, and to be reminded of how on the same page we are and yet how we are also different witnesses to the same experiences. Thanks for your support!
Great reflections Ginnie and the inclusion of the stairs gives a real sense of scale. Impressive.
Ginnie: The next time I go I will plan to go inside this structure and really feel the scale of it, Mike. I can just imagine what pictures could be taken from inside! Thanks.
A nice one of the famous Atomium! The scale can be seen in the stairs in the bottom of the photo.
Ginnie: You usually see this from a distance, Wim, and never quite get the scale of it. Next time I will go inside to FEEL the scale! Bedankt.
I bet my boys would love to go there. Great capture and lots of details.
Ginnie: I bet they would, too, Frida. Next time I will go inside!! Thanks.
Very nice capture of this famous place Ginnie!
Ginnie: Merci, Richard. It truly is impressive up close and personal!
A fine shot Ginnie. It must have been a wonderful sight to take in.
Ginnie: It is always an impressive sight, Ron, but I can't believe I've never gone inside. Next time I will! Thanks.
I still have to visit this one... it is on my list
Ginnie: A stone's throw away is Mini-Europe, which is even more a must, Chantal. You'll love it.
lovely find Gin
Ginnie: Thanks, DrAW.
That is a pretty cool structure. I love the rich metallic colour.
Ginnie: It's a delightful place to see, Mary, but I can't believe I haven't yet gone inside (I had been there before). Next time I will! Thanks.
Looks a bit shinier that we visited it Ginnie. When we went (many moons ago) it was really rundown but from talking to some friends the other day I understand that it has since been renovated.
Ginnie: This was my second time to see it, Bernie, but both times were delightful like this. Next time I will plan to go inside!
Great capture Ginnie, love ur crop, ur detail and clarity are lovely.
Ginnie: You're a sweetheart, Fotografa. Thank you.
GREAT Ginnie, you captured it so well, like the symetry and the stunning reflections .. you blog is a MUST see and a wonderfull gift for the community, thanks for sharing
Ginnie: You always know how to make my day, Klaus. Always. Danke.
been to brussels twice and never seen this...shame really. what a great looking place!
Ginnie: It's way out on the NW edge of the city, David, and a great ride on the metro line, past all the statues underground like I showed here:
http://ginniehart.shutterchance.com/photoblog/We_Are_Fam-i-ly!_/. You'd love it, along with Mini-Europe that is right next door, in walking distance!
WOW... this is amazing and certainly better than anyone could do with the real atom and a standard macro!
Ginnie: HA! I can just imagine what this looks like under the microscope, Victoria!
Still as weird looking as ever... Great Ginnie. richard
Ginnie: I guess so, Richard...standing the test of time?! Thanks.
What an amazing composition Ginnie, so different from Astrids but just as interesting.
Ginnie: Different witnesses to the same story, Brian! I love it.
Beautiful reflections and nice framing
Ginnie: Thank you kindly for stopping by and commenting!
Different points of view and both are excellent pictures. It must be great to have a photo hunt partner
Ginnie: It is definitely great to have someone on the same page, Louis. Meer dan je ooit zal weten!
Great shot Ginnie! I visited there in the late 70s and this sure brings back memories.
Ginnie: It's been around for a lifetime, Martie.
I'd love to see this in person! Do you know if the structure needs to be polished? It looks brand new! (I wish I looked as good as I did in 1958!
Ginnie: I have no clue about the polishing, Patrushka, but it does sound like they recently cleaned it up, according to Bernie. So, how old were YOU in 1958??
great clarity on this kind of shot, the structure is very nice.
Ginnie: It's definitely one of a kind, Liang! Thanks.
so shiny and pretty!
Ginnie: I know, Heather. We like shiny and pretty, don't we.
Interesting to see the different interpretations. An amazing looking structure - very futuristic for the time.
Ingrid
Ginnie: Just think about how many of those futuristic things back then are NOW! WOW. Makes you wonder what we'll think up next. Thanks, Ingrid.
Wonderful capture. I like what you and Astrid are doing. Must be some fun photo hunt.
Ginnie: We have 3 posts in a row this week, Maria, where we are showing the same scene but from different perspectives. We love doing this.
Amazing Ginnie, you both shot such good images so differently
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Tony. We had so much fun.
I'll bet yu counted each magnification as well. like the close crop Ginnie.
Ginnie: That would have been a LOT of counting, Les. I don't think I can count that high!!!
I remember seeing this in 1995 and thinking that out of this world, and you have enhanced this thought
Ginnie: The memories we have can be tweaked by the slightest of imagaes, Vintage. I love it when that happens! Thanks.
Great great! Excellent composition
Ginnie: Thank you kindly, Robert, for stopping by and commenting.
WOW! What a fantastic structure. WOW!
Ginnie: You'd love it, Marcie, totally!
