Elles ont l'air très occupées.
Ginnie Hart: Totally enjoying a knitting lesson on a lazy morning after breakfast, Martine.
Charming shot of busy girls.
Ginnie Hart: I even asked permission, Larry, at which time the older lady called out to the lady a couple of boats down to ask if it was okay...which is when I found out they weren't her girls. smile
What a nice shot, I love all those reflections....
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.

What a pleasant surprise!! I thought all three of them were staring at their smartphones. Thank goodness they had something more productive on their minds. Great candid capture!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Steven. Not only that, when I asked for permission to take the shot, the older lady called out to another lady a couple boats away to ask if it was okay, at which point I found out she wasn't the mother. I can imagine the fun of learning to knit from an "aunt" while on a boat holiday. smile
Everyone in their own little world! I agree with Steven. Lovely presentation!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. As I told Steven, when I asked for permission to take the shot, the older lady called out to another lady a couple boats away to ask if it was okay, at which point I found out she wasn't the mother. I can imagine the fun of learning to knit from an "aunt" while on a boat holiday.
Belle prise de vue et surtout bravo pour le cours particulier de tricot ..
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It's fun, Claudine, isn't it! Merci.

Mother and two young apprentices
Ginnie Hart: Actually, when I asked for permission, Chris, the older lady called out to another lady a couple boats away to ask if it was okay, at which point I found out she wasn't the mother. I can imagine the fun of learning to knit from an "aunt" while on a boat holiday.

This came out fabulous, Ginnie. I heard you talking to the lady and asking permission. Indeed finally not an iPhone but something more nice to do and being creative, even in this hot weather smile
Ginnie Hart: It was such a delight to see something so "old-timey" like this, Astrid. When I asked permission, the girls looked at me for the photo, at which point I had to tell them to pretend I wasn't there. HA!

My immediate thought when I saw this on FB that their were all fiddling with their phones but now I can clearly see that they are knitting. I bet that solar panel on the boat has worked well in recent weather! I do know, though, that their efficiency decreases when it gets hot.
Ginnie Hart: YUP. Knitting and not fiddling with their phones! Who'd believe it. HA! But what you have mentioned about the solar panel confuses me. Are you serious that they're not as effective when it's too hot??? That would be true everywhere then, right?

How nice to see three people all actually doing handicraft
Ginnie Hart: I know, Lisl. It thrilled me to no end!

Nice to see that it is not just portable telephones that they are engrossed in Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chad. I so agree.
lovely, relaxing looking picture... thanks for the comment, i forgot it was picture time smile i took a knitting class once, it was carnage lol
Ginnie Hart: Astrid knitted a fisherman's sweater for herself, sweaters for Jeroen, socks for herself, stc. Knitters amaze me! smile Thanks.
too bad they are not enjoying the lovely view
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Ruthie, they're sitting at the dock, waiting for their trip of the day. It's nice to see they're not all on their smart phones!
Good to see that there are still some young people interested in knitting, Ginnie. You've presented this scene beautifully.
Ginnie Hart: It was a happy surprise to see, Beverly, indeed. Thanks.

Now, that takes skill. I know, when I was around 6 and came down with mumps or on of those, my mother taught me knitting to while away the time - no, no knitting after my 9th year, so the skill is un-learned.

I like the conversion.
Ginnie Hart: There are professional football players who knit, Louis, so you could still be in good company. smile
I assumed they were on phones! ?knitting must be a very satisfying pastime
Ginnie Hart: It's easy to make the phone assumption nowadays, Bill. I found it quite refreshing to see them knitting!

are they really all staring at the screens of their phones ?

say it's not so !
Ginnie Hart: Oh no, Sherri. They're knitting. smile
Now that's the proper way to keep ones children/grandchildren occupied, we took our Lauren (granddaughter) out to a local Alpacca farm today, she liked the animals but wasn't too sure about feeding them.
Ginnie Hart: Keep their hands off their phones, occupied with something else, Brian, and that's a start! God have mercy!

What a fun place to knit.
Ginnie Hart: It's fun, Cherry, isn't it!
This so reminded me of when my grandmother taught me to knit. Wonderful "family" capture!
Ginnie Hart: Don't you love it when memories light the corners of your mind, Robin! smile Thanks.
That is a lovely shot. Very nice processing.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Nice treatment, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Tom.
a boat ride helps to keep us cool on a hot day Ginnie... love your treatment here...petersmile
Ginnie Hart: That's what's good about boat rides, for sure, Peter. Thank you.
Quite some boat, Ginnie... smile
Where are those flags of?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Sudipto. The flag in the back, of course, is the Dutch flag. The ones in the front are specialized boat flags, I guess?
