Rarely do I see men smoking pipes these days, more's the pity..
Ginnie Hart: I wonder why, Chris? Apart from lip cancer, I'm not aware of other dangers, are you? I've always enjoyed the smell of certain pipe tobaccos. smile

Happy 4th of July, Ginnie and this made me smile again, knowing this fella is a tall as I am.....
Ginnie Hart: Thanks you, Astrid. I actually have a photo of you standing next to him. I should have added it to this post....and have now just done so!

What your eyes are discovering - a funny sculpture! Enjoy your special day!
Ginnie Hart: I had no idea your country had this little gem of a town, Philine, until a Dutch firend o ours told us about it. We're so glad we went. And if you look back at this post, you'll see that I've added a photo of Astrid with the pipe smoker. smile

This makes me think of Sherlock Holmes; the hat and the pipe were his "trademarks:".

happy 4th July!
Ginnie Hart: BINGO. I knew he reminded me of someone very English, Alan. Thanks. Make sure you look back to see Astrid standing next to him! smile
Dit gezegde ken ik niet, maar wat een leuk beeld (2) en is 4 juli in de USA Onafhankelijkheidsdag ?
Ginnie Hart: It's a sayin I have heard since I was a wee girl, Marjolein! smile And yes, this is America's Independence Day, since 1776.

Yes I like this simple but effective sculpture. Great picture of Astrid too.
Ginnie Hart: Simple and effective. Well said, Chad.

Ginnie Hart: Every time we see a fun sculpture of any kind, Elaine, I try to get a photo of Astrid with it. It's fun. smile
Thanks for the good holiday wishes, Ginnie and Astrid!
Ginnie Hart: You're welcome, of course, Larry!
What a great fun sculpture, Astrid is certainly amused.
Ginnie Hart: We all were amused, Brian. smile Thanks.

With his lungs, he won't keep a pipe going. I see this guy is even tied down with a chain ... must be getting wild when he doesn't get his fix.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good one, Louis. grin
Another of those faceless nonentities smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! Indeed so, Tom.
Oh yes! I didn't realize it was that big!! Thanks to your model... smile
Ginnie Hart: Next time I'll try to remember, Elizabeth. smile
That is a delight. A friend of mine makes stuff like that.
Ginnie Hart: Delightful art, indeed, Michael!
A clever take on SHerlock Holmes, I think! Love it!
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Ruthie. Sherlock Holmes in Germany. smile

This is a wow!
Ginnie Hart: It's fun, Mary, isn't it. Thanks.
