Of course, Ginnie, we all work...but some of us don't receive a paycheck...
Ginnie Hart: Of course, indeed, Ray. No swiping in or out either!
Stop poking fun at the afflicted, Ginnie Hart! smile A nice detail, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I know, I know, Frank. It's still pretty "raw" for us. grin
Pretty much how I feel, Ginnie!! Great capture!
Ginnie Hart: I know you do, Elizabeth. (sigh) Let's hope it will pass soon!

How is it that I do not feel obligated to do anything today, I wonder. I can look at people work, for hours suddenly... However you know me, that will wear off soon.
Great find here and I love your presentation, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Woman! This is the first free week of the rest of your life!!! Mine, too, because of it! smile Bedankt.

Nothing changes does it! Here they all are, centuries ago, having to confront the daily grind..
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chris. The tools may be different but everything else stay the same.

I can imagine that Astrid has a huge smile on her face. Monday is still my favourite day of the week.
Ginnie Hart: She was off on Mondays for a couple of years, Alan, so it will be TUESDAY, tomorrow, when it will hit us both!!!

The feeling of joy when I wake up and realise that I am retired has never gone away
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Lisl. Now I will know it again as I share it with Astrid!

What a lovely carving Ginnie, you do search out the finest details.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Chad. At first I thought this might be a Boat Friday pic and then decided not.
It is wonderful not going to work

A nice detail Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I'm going to start feeling it all over again, Bill...because of Astrid! YAY.

What a fine observation - yes, you both can enjoy the day without any duties of work. I always like your words accompanying the images!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear, Philine. This is the first week of unemployment for both of us for the rest of our lives. smile
Hele mooie hoeksteen van actief werk.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, Marjolein. They don't make them like this any more, do they!

no more row row rowing your boats!!!
Ginnie Hart: Well, at least not today! smile
Très joli ce détail sur cet édifice.
Bonne journée Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I love details like this on old buildings, Pascale! smile
Quite an interesting trio of characters. When I look at my Buddies page on SC I think we are mearly all retirees, don't you just love it.
Ginnie Hart: It's like we're all growing "young" together, Brian. smile
We need to find another four dwarfs, so we can role play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
You can be the Snow White. I'm definitely the Evil Stepmother!

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
It's home from work we go smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! Evil Stepmother you will be but...Snow White for me? I don't think so. HA!

A great find so appropriate for a Monday!! It's intricate detail for something that sounds so high up.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Steven. This is one of the things I so love about the OLD architecture in Europe. You find all kinds of treasures!
I like the gritty texture as well as the point of view
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Ruthie.
they look like a hard working group of men Ginnie....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Lots of blood, sweat and tears, I'm sure, Peter.

You know what is worse than not going to work - it is some pensioner who struts around "I have been offered WORK". As is (s)he is actually saying "Please keep me busy, as I can't do it myself".

The other day I had a thought. If I were living back then, before the invention of pension - what would I have been doing to afford daily bread.
Ginnie Hart: Interesting thought, Louis. One does wonder about these things in these days of uncertainty.
They seemed to be going to war. What then is the same thing. smile
Ginnie Hart: Work and war? Sometimes it IS the same thing, Claudio, but to the shame of us all.
I just had to work in the garden today smile
Ginnie Hart: I hope it was more pleasure than work, Michael?

Let's hear it for the retirees! Nice textures here.
Ginnie Hart: In my household now we're BOTH retired, Bonnie. Finally! Let's hear it, indeed! smile
i might as well make the most of it because next week is again going to be a short one, Ginnie. your close up view really shows the porous nature of this piece!
Ginnie Hart: Well, then, Ayush. In between your Dutch holidays, you're working your tail off! i hope you can accomplish your oals.

Lovely details, they certainly don't look happy.
Ginnie Hart: Some people just tough it out, Cherry, right?!
I do not miss at all those days of "Heave Ho!"
Ginnie Hart: I know what you mean, Robin!!!
