A Mid-Week Break

When you can find a perfect spot, grab it!

J'aime beaucoup la forme de ce pont typique de Venise.
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Martine. You immediately know it's in Venice.

Excellent, Ginnie.

I like travelling, vicariously, with my Buddies.

Interesting, too, to hear of barefoot monks...all monks in Thailand are barefoot when taking alms.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray. I feel the same way about places in your part of the world, especially assuming I will never see them with my own eyes.
Perfect composition!
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Robin.
A really great shot of that amazing bridge!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. It's the one right next to the San Simione Piccolo church, which makes me wonder if that's where/why it got its name?

A wonderful picture of people taking their time to enjoy.
Ginnie Hart: It's fun to see others doing it, even if we never do it ourselves, right???! sad

The perfect place to chill out
Ginnie Hart: It really was, Chris, though a bit to close to the traffic side of things for me.

I like the contrast of the bustle on the bridge and the quiet on the seat
Ginnie Hart: Very true, Lisl. I suppose that was only momentary, however. smile
They look set for the day there Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Bill!

Oh, I see the masses of tourists - yesterday I watched a documentary film about Venice, Barcelona and Dubrovnik considering their touristic problems- but as you know there are also places in Venice where you are the only one person.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, exactly, Philine. We found many wonderful spots where the masses weren't there! It's such a double-edged sword for famous places where the natives depend on tourists for their economy...a love-hate relationship, for sure.

the sky looks great in this shot, a graded shade... and i love the perfect spot, and that name of the bridge haha, too fun!!
Ginnie Hart: A bit of "muting" sometimes suits me more in this retina HD age, Elaine. smile Thanks.
This is such an elegant bridge Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it is, Chad!

One can make a killing, renting chairs when the sun starts shining after winter smile Great picture of these two taking a break, while the world passes over their heads.
Ginnie Hart: I have discovered, Louis, that the Europeans get outside into the sun the minute they can, even when for others it might still seem quite cold. It actually was unseasonably warm in Venice while we were there. Thanks.
superbe cadrage!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JP.

Excellent! I would stay there too!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Anne. I think a lot of us would. smile
What a busy spot. Someone was lucky to get a bench.
Ginnie Hart: Being near the train station means that bridge gets a lot of use every day, Mary, I'm sure!

Beautiful! What a way to arrive in the city.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Alan, and yes, indeed!
I like your POV Ginnie, you have the knack of steering away from the normal postcard angles of well known things when you photograph them.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Brian, but I'm not sure about that! It's so hard not to show the same thing everyone else shows!
It looks the perfect place to rest awhile
Ginnie Hart: Too much out in the public for me, Martin, but it did seem idyllic.
it's a great looking bridge and the chairs in the sun are so inviting Ginnie....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: It's hard not to find any place in Venice that's not inviting, Peter. (Too many negatives makes a positive, you know!)
a Boat Friday two days early. smile
Ginnie Hart: I have enough boat Fridays to cover Mondays and Wednesdays, too, Larry. That's my dilemma. smile
they've seized the opportunity!
Ginnie Hart: They have, indeed, Tom.
Venice is always so busy!
You've gotta get up really early to avoid the crowd. wink
Ginnie Hart: Thankfully, LC, we were there at a good time of the year, before the huge spring-break or summer rush.

BTW, out of curiosity, do you have a Facebook account? I'd love to follow you there, if so.
they certainly did, Ginnie. nice shot of the bridge with the vaporetto in the shot as well. i am enjoying this series very much.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush. Do vaporettos ever come that small, I wonder? All of ours were quite big...carrying 100-200 passengers, I'd guess. I'm sure there are water taxis that are this size, however.

What a fabulous bridge smile
Ginnie Hart: It's well-used, Cherry, because it's across from the train station.
