It is time for Lady Liberty to take to the streets.

Lovely shot, by the way.
Ginnie Hart: I think the Women's Marches all over the world (including in Amsterdam) two days before I took this, Michael, make a good start!
Well that's a little unusual! What statement are they trying to make, I wonder?
Great photo - by the way - love the selective coloring!
Ginnie Hart: It sure took me by surprise, Elizabeth. I tried to find something on the Internet about it but so far to no avail. It does seem timely, however, in relation to the Women's Marches two days before.

Some NY gals taking 4 year break...hopefully there will be a USA to return to after that...
Ginnie Hart: Partying it up in Amsterdam, then, Ray?! Actually, it's very hard to party right now, if you want the truth!

Great design and very up-to-date. Love the selective colouring. In the back is the American Hotel, with the 'tower'.
This scene was part of the Amsterdam Light Festival in Amsterdam https://amsterdamlightfestival.com/en
Ginnie Hart: It was such a great find for us, wasn't it. But I still didn't find it in your link. I'll have to look again.
Well, that's not a good sign. I get that the country is one dutchboy away from a devastating leak, but that's kind of funny.
Ginnie Hart: The Dutch do love their satire, Michael, as I'm sure you know by now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-xxis7hDOE

Drôle d'idée de les avoir mises dans l'eau.
Ginnie Hart: I have a feeling someone was making a statement, Martine?!

How strange but rather wonderful anyway is this!
Ginnie Hart: Strange and wonderful, yes, Chris!! I thought so, too.

Well, it certainly makes a statement, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Yes, it does, Lisl, whatever it might be!

I know exactly where you are - on 5th February I'll be there again - I understand what the three Ladies want to say about Trumpland - a beautiful selective colouring.
Ginnie Hart: February 5th is our 7th wedding anniversary, Philine. smile Enjoy!

if the warnings appoint rising sea levels turn out to be true; the real State of Liberty could be in a similar situation. Odd to see these, though, and your selective colouring works well.
Ginnie Hart: One does wonder if that's partly the point, Alan...about climate change! Thanks.

Look at the Amsterdam Light Festival- Artwork
"There won’t be many people who do not
consider freedom a valuable friend. The work
consists of three Statues of Liberty who, instead
of holding a torch, hold a so called cornucopia
– a horn of plenty. The work is typical of Eric
Sok who likes to work with images concerning
topical subjects, which may contain some sort
of mystery. What he does let us know is that,
as far a he is concerned, it would not be a bad
idea to think about the connection between
friendship and freedom.
Biography
Erik Sok grew up with art; his mother was a creative
therapist and while most children were only
introduced to clay and paint in kindergarten,
Sok was already using the materials to create
sculptures. After studying graphic design and
drawing in Utrecht, Amsterdam, Hilversum and
Laren, he became art director at a publishing
house specialized in art books."
Ginnie Hart: Fabulous work searching this info out, Philine. Astrid mentioned earlier it was indeed from the Amsterdam Light Festival. THANK YOU!

Lovely shot!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Anne.
Is this a new Olympic sport Ginnie, synchronised liberty ladies in water?
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good one, Chad. smile

looks like each of them is trying to screw in a bunch of light bulbs lol... neat... great shot!!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, instead of torches or light bulbs they're holding horns of plenty, Elaine. I kinda like that. Thanks.

So they went for a swim in the filthy canal. Maybe they felt at liberty, to do so. Interesting that they are toasting with yellow tennis balls.
Ginnie Hart: Those are horns of plenty, Louis!!! smile We could use those right about now, I think.
What are they holding rather than flames. It looks like sweets. Very odd!
Ginnie Hart: They're supposed to be horns of plenty, Mary, or so Philine says in her comment. I trust her. smile
Your colour popping is absolutely spot on here Ginnie, I wonder what this was all about.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Brian, and I wonder, too.
Trumpo has redefined the word liberty, with his daily proclmations
Ginnie Hart: I'm afraid so, Martin. (sigh)
How great, good find, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Frank. It definitely initiated a send look!
They seem to have Trump wigs....coincidence?
Ginnie Hart: HA! Probably no coincidence at all, Bill!
OMG I remember this place!
Exactly the same spot.

Are you really going to build the Wall? How can you make Mexico pay for half of it? Too many questions too little time.

We have something similar in London too.

Ginnie Hart: Enough questions to unsettle everyone, LC, including those in Trump's own party! It does get curious-er and curious-er, doesn't it. And now that your PM is in America, don't we all wonder what happens next?
i didn't realize until now just how fat she was Ginnie... they sure displace a lot of water in this shotgrin
....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Are you sure those aren't just the flowing robes you see, Peter??? grin

querky ...
Ginnie Hart: Quirky is as quirky does? smile
American girls on Strike against you-know-who...
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Larry!
So love the selected coloring! #resist
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Robin. RESIST, indeed.
Very nice photo!
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Roland.
Amusing process and blue statue in the water
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marie. It sure gave us a double-take!
It is really the big problem for me that Shutterchance did not plan a newsletter because I forget to go to visit most people whom I appreciate and with a newsletter it is easier to miss nobody
Ginnie Hart: I wish we could make that happen for you, Marie. Seriously. Actually, I may be able to ask our site manager about that. I'll let you know what he says!
