A Mid-Week Call to Peace

Sand dollars are symbols of peace, which we desperately need right now in the USA.

Legend has it that there are five doves inside the shells that are free to bring goodwill to the world when the sand dollar is broken.

I LOVE sand dollars. Barry and I used to search for them on the beaches of Maryland and Virginia!
May your prayers for Peace be realized...
Ginnie Hart: Peace, indeed. I think I first need to go to bed and get some sleep....

We can only hope for goodwill and peace after today. I found my Sand dollar in 1975 on the beach of Florida and still have it. To me it was amazing to see so many embedded in rocks at the beach at the Azure Window in Malta.
Ginnie Hart: Let's keep paying attention to what's important in these days ahead, "no matter what." (sigh)

USA is on the brink! sad
Ginnie Hart: I'm afraid so, Ray. And now I need to sleep it off....
Beautiful photographic work Ginnie. Nice depiction and subject
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marie, but I'm sick to my stomach right now!
Wonderful indeed Ginnie! Le'ts cross our finger...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Richard, but my day has not started the way I expected! (sigh)
All I can say Ginnie is Fingers Crossed.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Chad, but by now we all know it's too late. I've never seen anything like this in my life!!!

Interesting Ginnie: America is going to need all the goodwill it can get considering the news, which I cannot yet digest properly
Ginnie Hart: I don't think anyone can digest this right now, Chris...kinda like with BREXIT. What in the world is happening?? A total revolt against "the establishment" in our countries. NOTHING projected prepared us for this....

I've never heard of these before. Lets hope that there is some truth to the legend right now.
Ginnie Hart: If there is no Peace right now, Alan, people like Astrid fear a WWIII. Let's pray for the best to come out of the sh**...kinda like with your BREXIT.

A very suiting image and good words I agree fully with - I am very disappointed, but we have to respect the reality in the States - I have just heard very good words by Martin Schulz in Brüssel. The silent majority is full of fear considering the modern world of globalisation, digitalisation ... Let's hope that we can struggle against the increasing populism in Europa ...
Ginnie Hart: God have mercy on us all, Philine...as with BREXIT, too. It's very scary, feeling like a set-back of decades worth of hard work, especially by Obama. It's hard to stomach right now but we will move on.

I don't believe what I am hearing, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I don't either, Lisl. I'm in total disbelief...but life, strangely, will go on (like with you after BREXIT).

Bien vu
JP
Ginnie Hart: Merci, JP.
I had a horrible feeling it would happen. As happened here the ruling classes have failed to realise that many people feel deserted by the state, robbed of decent jobs while the rich get richer by making things in the Far East. We are lurching dangerously towards an isolationist and Nationalist mentality. A recipe that I fear tends to end in wars
Ginnie Hart: Did you mean to "end" wars, Bill, or to start wars? Astrid firmly believes WWIII is right around the corner, and that the Netherlands will be caught in the middle of it.
Should I break all my sand dollars?
Ginnie Hart: Maybe!!!
i've never seen a sand dollar up here... they are very pretty aren't they? and i love the story about the doves... nice shot, thanks for this...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elaine. We need all the doves we can get right now!
I've never heard of these before, what interesting thingies. I am at a loss as to what your compatriots have done over the last 24 hours, it seems the whole world, except that few million people who voted for Trump could see the danger in that man, but not them!
Ginnie Hart: I know, Brian. I'm still shaking my head in disbelief. It's like a dear friend has died...seeing the grief I feel!
belle représentation!! accrochez vous avec "guignol" au pouvoir!!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, JP. God have mercy on us all.
Well the doves better get flying... I read this right after the results at like 2:44 am our time.
http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/an-american-tragedy-2
Ginnie Hart: The doves surely ARE flying, Jacquelyn, but when/where they will land, only God knows. "Why not leave the country? But despair is no answer. To combat authoritarianism, to call out lies, to struggle honorably and fiercely in the name of American ideals—that is what is left to do. That is all there is to do."
It must have been a long night watching the election there.

That is a beautiful shot. We really need to find peace in this world.
Ginnie Hart: My heart is still broken, Michael, though I'm trying to find a way through the fog. Is it possible to find hope and peace during these days? I believe so...but it will be hard for awhile....
First, we got Brexit!
Now, Trump?!
What's next G?

No matter what happens, you will always have our full supports. Aren't we US-UK just the best partners in crime? wink
Ginnie Hart: Only God knows what's next, LC. It's not a fun place to be right now, as you'd imagine. Maybe you Brits will help us get through this???

The dollar has gone for a dive.

I mentioned to Astrid that one opinion I read, said that the world is in the grips of populist mindsets. This is evident in voting patterns, mentioning Brexit as the previous big event. This populist thing basically means that people don't do intelligent voting. Could Wilders be the next Minister President of Hollandshire? And his counterpart in Germany.
Ginnie Hart: Astrid and I were talking about this yesterday, fearing that Wilders will raise his ugly head again. What is this world coming to????
We can only hope...(but I do love learning about this legend!)
Ginnie Hart: I know, Robin....and, yes, it's a lovely legend.
This is my first to see a sand dollar. Read it on books but never really thought about how it would look like smile
Ginnie Hart: Sand dollars are wonderful to find, Charles. Like finding real money, except better! smile
It looks like that dollar has been devalued... I pray for my nation...
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good one, Larry. We all pray....
