I really like the cast iron pillars that were used so extensively on platform bridges in Olde Englande, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Ray. I love the sense of Time at this particular station.
Very nice Ginnie! Enjoy your stay in Atlanta.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you on both counts, Richard.

That was a nice little station and I love the cast iron bridge. (Not to be used though) that is one thing about traveling and waiting, you notice your surrounding....
Ginnie Hart: It's one of the stations I will always remember, Astrid, partly because it's small enough to notice the details.

This is a wonderful image and it shows the beautiful ironwork off very well. The effect of sea air and general neglect is clearly evident here.
I hope you both have a wonderful trip.
Ginnie Hart: All the "neglect" seemed so photogenic to me the two times I've been there, Alan. So much charm in its own way. Thanks. We are here safe-n-sound after a long day.

Wishing you all the best Ginnie. Will you be there for the Presidental electiion?
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Chris. We arrived at Amy's house just as the debate started but, of course, did NOT watch it. I plan to watch it today..... (sigh)

Have a good flight and a great time! Yes, toilets are always needed -an interesting composition! St. Austell is Pauline's town.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Philine. I'm sorry I missed you yesterday. We had hoped to have Wi-Fi during our 5-hour layover in NYC but did NOT. Bummer. But we are now here safe-n-sound at Amy's after a good night's sleep.

Bien vu
JP
Ginnie Hart: Merci, JP.
Have a great trip.

Classic railway architecture
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Bill. We arrived safe-n-sound and had a great night's sleep!
I like your picture Ginnie, but it brings something else to mind. How many people have deperately scanned their surrounding for that reassuring arrow and sign 'Toilets'? It is such a relief when you find one. We don't always want, or have time, to go into a cafe and order a coffee simply to use their toilet. Anyway, a wish you a safe and pleasant journey and a pleasant stay.
Ginnie Hart: I've been at this station twice, Chad, but as yet have not needed the facilities. HOWEVER, it's definitely good to know where they are! Good point of not always wanting to order a coffee in order to use the toilet.

We're here safe-n-sound at Amy's and have just had a good niht's sleep!
Give Nicholas the biggest hug he's ever had! Bon Voyage
Ginnie Hart: Awww. How sweet, Mary. MANY hugs since we've seen him. He's not shy when it comes to that, thankfully! We just hugged him again before he headed off to school this morning!!!

planes, trains, and automobiles... great movie... and seems to resemble this pit stop in your travels, neat picture tho i can't quite see what's going on in it!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly what I was thinking, Elaine....planes, trains and automobiles! In one of my recent In Soul posts, there is a collage of this train station, where you can see better what's going on. But it's part of the pedestrian causeway that goes over the tracks at the station.
Many years ago we took our car on the car train to St.Austell to save a very long drive from where we lived at the time. Have a good time back home with the folks.
Ginnie Hart: I wonder if the station has changed at all since then, Brian??? smile
Cool! ENJOY every minute as I know you two will! Safe travels!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Robin. We arrived without incident after a long day (with NO Wi-Fi at JFK for the 5 hours we were there...unbelievable in this day and age!). We even had a good night's sleep!
cadrage et couleurs extra!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Merci, JP.

I read the title: "We're Off Again" and the next thing I saw was "Toilets". And I thought - do we need to know everything? But fortunately I saw you are on your way to Atlanta - somewhere close to Matthew land. Enjoy and keep safe!

Interesting picture, attesting to some elbow work and painting that is required.
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! You're so funny, Louis. I didn't even need to use the facilities, so how's that for WTMI. smile

We are here safe-n- sound and have even had a good night's sleep. As you know, it's always good to see the family, even if only once a year.
have a wonderful journey back home Ginnie... i hope that the airports are in better shape than this train station....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. To be honest, we could really see the wear-n-tear at JFK in NYC. And there was no Wi-Fi there during our 5-hour layover. That's unheard of in this day-n-age!!!
No way! Again? Don't forget to pack me - leave some room for me in your luggage! wink
Ginnie Hart: Actually, LC, we normally do our England trip in early September but had to change plans when Chad and Norma came over to visit us at that time. So, we just rolled with the punches. It does make for fast-flying time!!!

One of these days you will hopefully send me a photo of yourself so that I can tell which one I need to set aside for packing. Promise???
You two have restless feet smile
That is a terrific shot with those wonderful colours.
Ginnie Hart: Restless feet is a good way to put it, Michael. HA! It's a long story but normally our trips aren't that close together. Thanks.
Great processing, Ginnie! Have a wonderful visit with your family - as I mentioned to Astrid- I am just so happy for you that the two of you continue to make this trip every year!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. This is one of the pegs on which each year hangs, for sure!!!
the paint (and the rust) make those clunky rivets very obvious in the structure, Ginnie. have a memorable two weeks ahead.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush, One more day and we'll be heading back home.....

Have a nice holidays.
And make more much pics.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Oscar. We can't STOP taking pics, can we!
I really like the vibrancy in this photo and the contrast as well smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Charles. Sometimes we just have to rise and shine, right? smile
