I like that his sign is in English - so everyone can read it...
Nice catch Ginnie!
And Thank You to all the workers in the 1800's that started the Labor Movement and gave us reasonable working conditions, and a holiday to end the summer!
Ginnie Hart: English is the "other" official language of Malta, Elizabeth, and perhaps is spoken more then Maltese because of the tourists. Remember that England ruled the Maltese Islands for 150 years!

And yes! We have a lot to be thankful for in the Labor Movement from all those years ago. Have a great holiday today!
Jolie photo. Il a l'air d'être concentré.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Martine. Sometimes concentration is the name of the game.

You are on the same page like Astrid. Another man or woman at work! I wish you a wonderful week with your guests!
Ginnie Hart: Astrid and I are often on the same page. HA! And thanks...we're really looking forward to our time with Chad and Norma. They're getting on the ferry as we speak.

I love the concentration of this man. I remember him looking at the read-up on the can, he was repairing his boat that was in the garage...
Love the scene.
Ginnie Hart: Isn't it funny how it's just like yesterday seeing some of these scenes! I love it. Thank you.
That is like my hair multiplied by ten Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Noooooooooo, Chad. Surely you jest!

Well this man is certainly labouring isn't he Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Yes, he is, Chris. He must not have gotten the email. smile
This worker seems embarassed Ginnie! Lovely
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Richard, he has the bronzed face of the Maltese men! smile Thanks.

I like that expression, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Lisl. smile
Clearly hard at it!

Enjoy your meet with Chad and Norma
Ginnie Hart: Indeed, so. Easy does it. And yes, we're looking forward to our time with Chad and Norma! They're on the ferry across the Little Pond as we speak.
J'aime ces images pleines de naturel qui montrent des petits métiers.
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Marie. They make a great slice of life. Thank you.
excellente prise!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JP.

The ducks will be a row today; it's raining at long last. Interesting t see his no parking sign in English. I wonder if he;s phoning to get help to work on the flaking wall?
Ginnie Hart: It was supposed rain buckets here yesterday, Alan, but ended up being more of a windy day than anything else. Today the sun is shining...perfect for Chad and Norma as they enter the Netherlands off the ferry later today.

English is the second language of the Maltese Islands. In fact, it may be more like the first language, in the sense of the tourism trade there.

Chock full of interesting stuff, Ginnie...love it!
Ginnie Hart: All of Malta was like that, Ray! Thank you.
It is labour day in Canada, and speaking of labour, I have to work while the others have the day off.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, dear me, Mary. Some jobs are like that (as was mine in assisted living years ago). Stay safe and calm, then!

Definitely not in a hurry. Sooner or later he'll be doing something.
Ginnie Hart: HA! It reminds me of Mexico, Louis. smile
great shot, Ginnie. i like workbench.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ayush. It's fun to have it outside like this, using natural light.
lovely shot, very 'old country'... i dig it!!
Ginnie Hart: Very old country, indeed, Elaine!!! Thanks.
I like all the details in this...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Larry. Busy, busy.....
Those walls... There was an article in the New York Times about Malta's Walls and how they honor graffiti as art. "Malta is so fond of what other cities would call graffiti, a government agency, Arts Council Malta, teaches street art in schools and even in some retirement homes." Love it!
Ginnie Hart: To be honest, Robin, I don't recall seeing any graffiti in Malta. WOW. BUT...we saw natural "graffiti" done by nature's and weather's hand all over the islands. It would be heaven for restoration artists!
Lots of great details to look at in this shot Ginnie. Enjoy your time with Chad and Norma, we've not had the opportunity to meet Norma as yet, one day perhaps.
Ginnie Hart: Lots of BUSY details, indeed, Brian. We had a lovely time with Chad and Norma (thank you), who are today on their way to see Philine in Münster.

A very laid back character, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I think all the men of Malta are laid-back like this, Pauline! Seriously.
It's Labour Day here in Canada too Ginnie. Our pbs station is running a marathon of the whole 6 seasons of Downton Abbey all in a row.
Ginnie Hart: I didn't realize you shared the same Labour Day with America, Jacquelyn. Well, then. And to have a marathon showing of all 6 seasons of Downton Abbey...OMG!
How come your Labour Day is in September? We have ours in May in Malaysia and it's a public holiday.

No labour day in Britain though. They don't have labourers here, I guess. wink

I went to see an interesting exhibition about collective nouns. Ha ha... there's actually one for Americans! Guess what?
A mayflower of Americans!

Ginnie Hart: Collective nouns. Now you've got me wanting to know more, more, more. Right up my alley, of course. I did find out, btw, that Canada also celebrates Labour Day the same day as we Americans. Must be a regional thing (though not with Mexico, I assume!)?

He looks like he is NOT quite ready for work!!!
Ginnie Hart: Either that or he got interrupted...or remembered to call his sweetie-pie?
That is a fabulous shot of an important part of work. Planning and communication.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Michael. It was too good not to shoot. smile
