I love your bold processing, Ginnie!! A lovely building!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth. I had just heard Theresa May, UK's new PM, say it on TV and had it in my mind when I saw it while in Paris last month. It really stood out for me.

Une devise qui n'a plus beaucoup de sens en ce moment.
Ginnie Hart: I guess we need to have it ever before us, Martine???

A devise that should be of high value for ever. Fraternité should include the sisters, too.
Ginnie Hart: I agree, Philine. These words should be ever before us, leading the way.

A wonderful framed picture and I love the symmetry in it. Freedom, equality and brotherhood/sisterhood... in my eyes an utopia.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, MLMA. It does make you wonder if any of our mottoes can ever be achieved!

I do like their National Anthem, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: The French have their way of getting to us, Ray, don't they!

Fine words, Ginnie. A great pity, though, that others don't share the same values.
Ginnie Hart: We were there shortly after the July 14th attack in Nice, Alan, so these words were still ringing in our ears!
Something we should all aspire to Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: One wonders what the world is coming to, Chad. (sigh)

A great aspiration
Ginnie Hart: Indeed so, Lisl.
You cannot argue with the sentiment Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Bill.
The French Embassy Ginnie! Great capture.
Enjoy the weekend.
Ginnie Hart: Ah, yes, Richard. Thank you.
They are not practicing their motto at all.
Ginnie Hart: (Sigh)
Nice comp, and b/w, Ginnie, fine words also.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Oh how things would be if all nations took those words to heart.
Ginnie Hart: Isn't that the truth, Brian!!!

Great photo - shame the french seem to have forgotten the meaning of liberte
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Paul. I've been thinking about this a lot, especially in the last days as relates to the burkini ban (which I understand has just been suspended).
My eye just travels everywhere here! Lovely! Enjoy the weekend you two!
Ginnie Hart: You're such a sweetheart, Robin. Thank you and the same to you.
I don't understand why do they ban burkini in France?

Surely, what you want to wear or how you want to wear it, is something very fundamental to their core values, Liberty, Equality and Fraternity, right?
Ginnie Hart: Exactly. I guess the timing of this post is "more timely" than I at first realized. I understand the burkini bans have now been suspended.

That figurehead seems a bit of a sourpuss about this Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité business. Maybe it had a sneak peek into the future. Sometimes being equal can be very challenging.
Ginnie Hart: Very challenging, indeed, Louis. It appears we still haven't figured it out?!
we need to have it for every single person.

That is a beautiful shot.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Michael, and thank you.

freedom, equality, and FRAT BOYS? lol nice shot, sister
Ginnie Hart: Yup. It just about says it all, doesn't it! (sigh) Thank you, Elaine.
beautifully shot, Ginnie. i like the strong contrasts in black and white. and a great message, obviously.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush. I think even France is having to pay attention to its own motto these days!
smile beautiful motto, but never applied. sad
Ginnie Hart: Thus it appears, Oscar...though I see they did suspend the burkini ban, after much publicity.
Liberty. Equality. Fraternity.

this motto found its origins in the French Revolution Ginnie, it is a good motto to live by....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Even the French are learning how to live by it, Peter!
The anti-burkini crowd cares little for liberty...
Ginnie Hart: There is way too much ANTI everywhere in the world these days, Larry. One wonders if there will ever be anything left to agree on!?!
