Thank you, MLS
This is a fabulous picture and thank you allowing me to be your Partner in Crime. With you I hope to make many more memories as long as possible. We had a great time in Paris and this B&W is absolute wonderful. IHVJ.
Ginnie Hart: We have so many memories it's sometimes hard to keep track of them. HA! THANK YOU and HAPPY BIRTHDAY, again!
A beautiful photo for Astrid's birthday "card"! You did find your perfect "partner in crime" didn't you!?
Ginnie Hart: A better partner I could have never found if I tried the rest of my life, Elizabeth. And I know you know what I'm talking about! Thank you.
A nice picture to celebrate Lady polder's Birtday Ginnie! Happy Birthday to her.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Richard.

I am always intrigued by Paris with its lack of high rise buildings
Ginnie Hart: If I'm not mistaken, Chris, there are "regulations" in Paris about that...but I can't remember exactly what. No building can be taller than ?????

A wonderful photo - Paris as I love it- and I wish you both to make as many happy memories as long as possible- you both are a wonderful 'Gespann' of partnership- Happy Birthday to Astrid!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear, Philine. As Astrid often says, she's hoping for several years together AFTER she retires, when we can both be foot-loose and fancy-free. I plan to do everything I can to make that happen (like staying as young as possible...ha!).

Have a great day together, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Lisl. It's a work day for her but we'll celebrate anyway, once she's back home!

One of the many things I enjoy about the Tour de France is the helicopter views on the final day showing the fabulous architecture in Paris.

I hope that Astrid has the day off work and that you can enjoy her special day together.
Ginnie Hart: That's one of the reasons why we watch the TdeF, too, Alan. So lovely. But, sadly, no, Astrid is at work today...however, we've been celebrating for several days so far, and with more to come.
A happy birthday indeed. A fine view of Paris
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Bill!
Great image Ginnie, and I too wish your PIC a happy b'day.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Chad!!!!! smile
excellent cadrage et traitement!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JP.
I love your treatment. Most everything has a metallic sheen.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marty. smile
A wonderful shot of this City of culture and romance.
Ginnie Hart: So much to see there, Martin! Thanks.

Building height: the way I remember - the height of buildings in Paris, Vienna and more such European cities is determined by how high you can build safely with brick and mortar. The change from this happened in NY when they started working with cast iron buildings and later, the steel structures.

The various cities deal with this in different ways. I remember that there may be a change of heart in Paris, looked it up and found this article, which explains it all http://www.france24.com/en/20080708-paris-allow-high-rise-buildings-paris-skyscrapers as far as Paris is concerned.

You enjoy the day and spoil her.

The picture is excellent by conversion and by the fact that what you choose to photograph is not the everyday touristic stuff - but still recognisable Paris.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks for the added info/link, Louis. I was aware of something like that. Makes sense. And thanks for your kind compliment.
Wonderful! You two are the perfect couple!
Ginnie Hart: HA! It was our Destiny, Robin. smile
Happy day, Astrid...
Ginnie Hart: I'll let her know, Larry. Thanks.
What a lovely collection of buildings clustered round the end of the bridge, you chose a very good viewpoint.
Ginnie Hart: I had to cross a bridge for this viewpoint, Brian. Totally worth it. Thank you.
Partner in crime?
Hang on, am I not your best sidekick?
He he... I forgot Wonder Woman fights alone. wink
Ginnie Hart: This WW has another WW as her sidekick, LC. But I'm sure I could use another one...but the application process is long and arduous. Are you ready for it????
