That is nice. I love the processing. It looks like an old shot. Maybe the sixties.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Michael. The place really is timeless.
This is a lovely warm shot, Ginnie! What a great place to share a break with friends... And tomorrow, I get to have lunch with my dear friends Rosemary and Terry Vaughan! So Blessed! smile
Ginnie Hart: I call them "eternalised moments," Elizabeth. Enjoy your break with friends!

I cannot help it but I notice only men have a mid-week break. I think women do something wrong... they should have a break sometimes too... wink
Fabulous shot, love the colours
Ginnie Hart: It is true that when it came to the Maltese people, it was only the men we saw milling around with each other, taking breaks. I wonder if it's considered a matriarchal society/culture? Hmmm. I'd love to know more.
Perhaps midweek could become the new weekend Ginnie. Well, you never know.
Ginnie Hart: In Malta it was definitely happening all week long, Chad. smile

Joli traitement pour cette photo.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Martine.
Such a nice and pleasant place to have a break Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: We thought the same thing, Richard, every time we passed it.

It is a very relaxed scene, Ginnie...even the trees' shadows seem languid.
Ginnie Hart: I need shadows on sunny days like this, Ray, so it was very inviting to me!
Are they drinking tea or coffee? Or something stronger?
Ginnie Hart: I hope something stronger, Michael. smile

But here are only men- where are the women? - let's sit down there on the left side!
Ginnie Hart: You've noticed what Astrid and I both noticed everywhere we went in Malta, Philine. It's the men who were always milling around and talking...not the women. I'd love to know more about this culture. Is it matriarchal, for instance!
prise et traitement extra! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, JP.
Agreed Ginnie, a nicely framed shot of this pleasant activity.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Frank. Strangely, we saw only the Maltese men doing this...not the women!
I love that you have a fellow staring out at you. "Pesky women", he's thinking. "They should be inside working like the rest of the women."
Ginnie Hart: You probably aren't far off base, Mary, since we never saw Maltese women gathering like this! Most interesting.
We all need someone we can sit with and put the world to rights Ginnie grin
Ginnie Hart: You said that right, Bill!!!!!
Lovely weather!
Ginnie Hart: It really was, Tom...unseasonably warm for that time of the year, they said.
So did you make any new friends there? wink
Oh come on, give me a break!?
Ginnie Hart: Yes, LC, in fact we did. The people who own the hotel where we stayed are a family of mother, father, sister and brother. We really had fun getting to know them better. smile

I get the idea of all your pictures that the Maltese are a tight knit community and fond of their leisurely moments.
Ginnie Hart: You are very right, Louis, in that FAMILY is huge there. But we also noticed that it's only men who seem to be out in their little groupings like this, shooting the wad. We never saw any women doing it.

Chouette moment !
JP
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, JP.
Some nice shade...
Ginnie Hart: Shade is absolutely crucial for such islands in the sun, Larry, especially as it starts entering the hotter months!
Absolutely! Friends are EVERYTHING! Great capture!
Ginnie Hart: Friends really ARE everything, Robin...which is why I'm so glad to see you this morning. HA! I was wondering last evening what you were up to. I always notice when you're not around!!!
