Wishful thinking here smile It would blow me away if the doors open and Johnny Depp would appear.
Amazing boats there in the museum, some already over 150 years old.
Great picture. So much detail. Love the horn next to the door.
Ginnie Hart: This boat seemed so elegant and even regal, MLMA. Maybe a bit too posh for Johnny (?) but I thought of him anyway. YOU are Captain Sparrow, remember?! smile

Looks to be pristine condition; just look at the shine on the woodwork. So much nicer than those plastic bath tub-type of boats smile
Ginnie Hart: Too bad it's sitting indoors at this museum, Alan, and isn't out on the high seas!

How beautifully all the details were looked after when this was built, Ginnie. Your picture does it proud
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Lisl. It reminds me of how much importance was put into the fine details back in that day!

Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Janet. It does stand out amongst the others!
Such a beautiful craft, the paintwork and door alone are works of art in themselves.
Ginnie Hart: That door really caught my attention, Brian!
What a beautiful piece of craftsmanship Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. I thought so, too.
What a beauty. I love that would. Please let me on board.
Ginnie Hart: It would have been so fun to climb on board, Michael, and go peek inside. If only we were allowed!

The word "Sperwer" is on the back of the boat. A sperwer is a sparrow-hawk. So yes, it is a far-off relation to Jack, in name. Maybe Captain Sparrow knows enough Dutch, to get mixed up.
Ginnie Hart: WOW. Who would have known...but you! I'll have to tell Astrid about this. She'll really love the connection! Thanks, Louis.
a fine collection of textures...
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Larry.
