Backup Vocals

Loose flyers announcing the Magna Cantata children's musical for July, 2015.

(seen in the Salisbury Cathedral, England, June, 2015)

I've been trying to add a video of the kids rehearsing but with no success.  Here's the link.

Great contrasting shot...love texture in photography
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Hollie. I do, too. smile
That is a a very nice shot. Maybe hide a few flyers in a crack somewhere so someone can find them in a few hundred years.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I like the way you think, Michael. I'm sure there would be plenty of cracks to find! Good for a scavenger hunt, too. smile

Stonework is smooth from many touchings...
Ginnie Hart: A fine resting place over the years for many, Ray. smile
I help myself if you don't mind Ginnie...Well spotted and captured!
Ginnie Hart: Go ahead, Richard. There's plenty to go around. smile Thanks.

Ginnie Hart: This is INSIDE the cathedral, Elaine, where it's pretty calm, cool and collected." Thanks. smile

I do admire the base of that Purbeck Marble pillar, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Leave it to you to know what kind of pillar it is, Lisl!

and Chad's grandchildren belonged to the musical group!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Philine. We saw a group practicing that day but he said his grandkids weren't part of it that day.

Love all the different kind of stone used that became nice and smooth over the centuries. The children did a great job singing.
Wonderful picture.
Ginnie Hart: You know how much I love these huge cathedrals, MLMA. And yes, the children did a great job rehearsing that day. I'll have to go find my video of them!

I remember this Ginnie, and the children singing
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Chris. I have tried adding the video up above but it's not taking for some reason. I'll try later but here it is: https://vimeo.com/139901481
They look sort of messy from here Ginnie, but I am sure they were designed ok. I cannot remember how they looked or even if I saw them.
Ginnie Hart: Interestingly, Chad, I never picked one up to look at carefully!
I like the picture and the singing too
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Bill. I'm still trying to add the video to my text above. Hmmmm.

Belle prise
JP
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, JP.
belle compo!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, JP.
I don't like the mess of loose flyers. I sure do like all the textures in your shot though.
Ginnie Hart: I guess they wanted to get the word out that day, especially since the kids were rehearsing, Mary. Maybe it was the responsibility of the kids to pick them up afterwards??? Thanks.

Beautiful and somewhat poignant, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Pauline!
Lots of lovely detail in this one. I like the story of the flyers, I must admit I would have removed then for my picture and then returned them from whence they came.
Ginnie Hart: I think their music must have still been ringing in my ears when I took this picture, Brian! smile

Looks funny when they jump up and down like that - like they are practising for Irish folk dance.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Louis. Must have been important! smile Thanks.

So that's what the children were doing. I thought it was just some impromptu singing! It was very enjoyable in any case. I never saw the flyers (no surprise there).
Ginnie Hart: I love that you were there at the same time, Alan. I'll never forget it, even if you didn't know that's why the kids were singing. smile

Ginnie Hart: YES, Martine. I like that. smile

Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Ayush. I love the stones and pillars in these cathedrals!
Very good eye to notice and frame these sheets where kids just like to leave things Ginnie....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter! I have a feeling they were left there on purpose, for advertisement. smile
