Have you ever thought about how many bums have been there?
Ginnie Hart: Well, now that you mention it, Michael....

Getting close to needing a bit of maintenance, it seems, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: One wonders if anyone ever goes up there anymore, Ray?!

Maybe at the church balcony not many people will come. I can remember it was a steep going up...
Great details here and I hope the people sit still....(think tweezers/splinters)
Love your picture.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed...good memory. It was very steep going up. Not for the faint of heart. I did get the feeling that no one ever went up there anymore!
The place has to be restored Ginnie! Great details.
Ginnie Hart: I don't think anyone ever goes up there anymore, Richard. sad

Oh, Ginnie, what your eyes discovered!
Ginnie Hart: I was very glad I was able to get up the steep stairs, Philine, just to look! Bedankt.

Ginnie - you make a treasure out of the mundane
Ginnie Hart: You probably remember me climbing up there, Lisl, for a different vantage point of the "nave" below. Lucky for me, I did find this treasure!
Those old benches could tell some tales Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Bill. Can you imagine sitting on them through a church service???

Before organs became common in English churches, local musicians would play to accompany the singing from the balcony. I wonder if this balcony was used in this way. Be a bit of a squeeze if so....
Ginnie Hart: Thank you for stopping by, Anna, but yes, I know that many choirs throughout the world sing from the balcony, so I wondered the same thing. Maybe in its past history the same happened here at this parish church, but I 'spect that was a long time ago. smile
Needs some work from all the years of use.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, I suppose so, Mary! smile
He he... Reminded me of the Old Operating Theatre in London. All we need is a volunteer now! wink
Ginnie Hart: Now that's an idea, LC! smile

And I thought I was a little heathen to stick my bubble gum to the pews. Look what they do here! Professional backsliders.
Ginnie Hart: HA! I totally forgot about the gum under the pews, Louis. Oh, my. Don't get me started! grin
It's falling apart Ginnie, just like Tiff's bench...just like Tiff.
Ginnie Hart: Shhhhhh. We won't mention it to Tiff!

Going to wrack and ruin by the look of it, great capture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Anne. I had the feeling no one goes up there anymore. No reason to, I guess?
Looks as though it hasn't been used in some time!
Ginnie Hart: I think you're right, Tom!

You think you really needed to be a committed member of the church to ensure sitting here for long! I wonder how old that wood is?
Ginnie Hart: OLD, Alan. You sure wouldn't want the sermon to last long while sitting up there.

As it stands, it looks rather uncomfortable...
Ginnie Hart: I wonder if that was the point, Cherry???
