Of course they are windmills, Ginnie!

And, those things on the bloke's back are wings, too!

[Humour her...or she might throw a fit...] smile
Ginnie Hart: Whew! I'm so glad you concur, Ray! smile
Well they look that way to me too, Ginnie...smile
Ginnie Hart: Well, then. I'm feeling better already. smile

They look windmills to me too. Love the carving in this sculpture. So simple, so beautiful.
Ginnie Hart: You know me and wood, MLMA. But I didn't notice the windmills till the big screen. Now I wonder what they're all about???

A fine medieval detail Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Chris. So, they must have had windmills back then, right?? grin
What a gem Ginnie, and why not say that they are windmills.
Ginnie Hart: I totally agree, Chad, until someone can prove otherwise. HA!

Haha- you have a blooming phantasy, Ginnie! But I agree with you while loking at the shield.
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes my fantasies are on rock-solid ground, Philine. smile

Hhaah!! Had you just had a "liquid lunch"? wink It's a wonderful carving regardless.
Ginnie Hart: Who, ME??? HA! Come on, Alan, those are windmills, right?!
They do look like windmills to me too Ginne! Great details.
Ginnie Hart: See. I knew you'd agree, Richard. smile Thanks.
Really? They look like three pots of gerbera daisies to me. He he...
Ginnie Hart: HAHA! Look again, LC, and make sure you clean your glasses first. smile

Beautiful wood sculpture
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Marie.
Definitely windmills Ginnie. I've started looking for little bits like this in churches recently instead of always concentrating on the big picture.
Ginnie Hart: I still concentrate mostly on the big picture, Brian, because I'm still not used to it. But little by little I'm remembering to add a few of the details. smile Thanks.
Highly thought of windmills too by the look of it Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I'm so glad you agree, Janet!!! smile Thanks.

"The highlight inside the church is a 15th century barrel-vaulted roof, decorated with painted bosses and carvings of angels." Oh, I were in heaven -like you- seeing these carved angels!
Ginnie Hart: YES, indeed, Philine!

On closer inspection, they could be windmills - one of those strange english designs ...
Ginnie Hart: You can imagine how delighted I was to discover them on the big screen, Louis. smile
Nice bit of carving!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Tom. I thought so, too.
It must be a Netherland's thing! ha ha!
Ginnie Hart: It's always fun to find a "Netherland's thing" in England, Robin. smile
love the earth tones...
Ginnie Hart: I do, too, Larry. Thanks.

I can see what you mean although when I first glanced at them they looked like wheat-sheaves to me smile
Ginnie Hart: If they aren't windmills, they must be wheat-sheaves, for sure, Cherry. But windmills they are. How wonderful.
oh génial
Ginnie Hart: Merci, Angevine.
