But today we kneel only to truth, follow only beauty, and obey only love."

A strong image... I like the carving too.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Jacquelyn. This church was full of treasures!
Looks very well worn.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Michael. I think the kneeling cushions looked the oldest and most worn of any I've ever seen!
they are rugged old pews Ginnie and i love the caving on the ends... wonderful composition....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: They remind me of the McDonalds arches, Peter. grin
It looks like that pew belongs to the MacDonald's clan smile
Ginnie Hart: Oh yes, Michael. I have thought of that many times. smile

a beautiful corner detail in this old church- did you ever heard the names of these saints before? Blisland is blissland!
Ginnie Hart: "Blisland church is the only one in the UK devoted to the pair of saints, who were 3rd century brothers, martyred for their beliefs. The pair are locally known as 'Pratt and Hatt'." Don't you love the gems we find at such places, Philine!
Nice framing with beautiful details.
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Marie.

And what lovely Saints names, too, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I had to laugh, Lisl, when I found out the saints are lovingly called Pratt and Hatt. smile How fun. It was a church filled with treasures, wasn't it!
A powerful image which says it all Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Richard.

Now there is some historey here; just think of the lives of those people who have sat on the pews over the centuries.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Alan. It's still very hard for me to get my head around it!

Beautiful detail in this photograph Finnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Chad. This is a most amazing church on the inside.
Many feet and knees have experienced this place.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeedy, Mary!
They have very unusual saint names like St Austell, St Ives, St Just, etc in Cornwall.

Hang on a sec, I saw the Golden Arches on the pew! I hope you noticed it that day and told your English friends, "Yeah, we're everywhere too!"
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, LC. I didn't notice it then but afterwards, on the big screen, I saw the Arches! smile
What wonderful old woodwork, and I do like the kneelers.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Brian. I am loving these old parish churches of England!!!

At least when there is a lull in proceedings, you can invite a friend and play checkers on the floor.
Ginnie Hart: Now that's an idea, Louis!

That is a lovely quote to go with your image smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Cherry. i love how we can find these quotes on the internet to fit almost every image we have!
i used to have a khalil gibran book, it was called 'the prophet' and it was wrapped in tissue and slid inside a box, it was expensive... i wonder what happened to it? i like this shot, i don't know what it is lol but i like it smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Elaine. I had a similar book and must have sold it before moving here to the Netherlands, since I don't have it now. But I had it for years and would look at my underlined quotes from time to time.
superbe détails!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, JP.
Wonderful detail...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Robin!
