two of them dancing on the water... great timing Ginnie... i love your treatment here....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: The fun thing about when they dry their wings, Peter, is that they hang like that for over a minute, giving you plenty of time to "catch" them. smile Thanks.
I love how they do this!!! Your presentation is great, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I love the cormorants here, Elizabeth, drying their wings like this. Sometimes it's downright comical. smile Thank you.
LOL!!! LOVE!
Ginnie Hart: I know, Robin. I know. grin

This is absolute gorgeous, what agreat presentation, it looks like they are dancing. I'll show you mine if you show yours.........
Ginnie Hart: I love the cormorant birds here, MLMA, and how long they can sit with their wings spread like this, drying them off. I sure did think up a story when the second one joined the party. HA! Bedankt.
What a wonderful presentation Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Richard.

This is a wonderful image, Ginnie...illustrates one of the behaviours I love about the cormorants.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray. I LOVE the cormorants and their seemingly endless delight in drying themselves. Who needs more entertainment?

The perfect moment to capture - perfectly, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Lisl. The good thing is that they can sit like this for minutes at a time while they dry off. It's easy to get the shot! smile

No one seems to know why they do this Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Well, your Little Sis always says they're drying off their wings, Chris. Makes sense to me.

No need to get in a flap about anything wink I've seen pecans doing this; they just let the wind flow through their feathers.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Alan. It's quite fun to watch.

for some reason, maybe just the birds, maybe the magical moment of the capture, but this reminds me of Marcy Scudder.... how i miss her
Ginnie Hart: I take that as a compliment, Elaine. Thank you.

A pair of cormorants hanging their washing out to dry. I wonder what they do when it is raining? Use a spin dryer like the rest of us?
Ginnie Hart: HA! Good one, Mike. smile
Ha ha... These are shy cormorants. They don't like to show off like shags!
Ginnie Hart: LOL, LC. Are you sure about that??? smile
I have a shot of the eagle I am showing today doing the same thing. I am glad I did not choose it now. I like your sunswept presentation. I love watching cormorants.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, Mary, we're on the same page. It's a marvel to watch these magnificent birds.
nicely timed smile
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Joshi, they stay like this for minutes at a time while they dry off, so it feels like you have all the time in the world to catch them. smile
Looks like they are both showing off to me Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I couldn't agree more, Chad. smile
This is a wonderful image, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Roland.

It is above all an atmosphere of places and a look that falls on the birds!
Ginnie Hart: I guess you're right, Pat!
Haha. Do you come here often? Lovely capture Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: LOL, Janet. Indeed. Thank you for the smile.
I saw some Cormorants last week in Lincolnshire doing this very same thing. I'm wondering if the sub-title in brackets means the same as it did when I was growing up in the U.K., less said about that the better!
Ginnie Hart: I love these wonderful birds, Brian. And yes, I'm sure whatever you're conjuring up fits the bill! smile

Ginnie Hart: And what a delightful sculpture, Anne. WOW! Thanks for sharing it.
Exchanging fishing stories perhaps Ginnie? Well caught picture and nicely twiddled
Ginnie Hart: "Big Fish" stories, perhaps, Bill. Thanks.

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours" - I distinctly remember playing the game with some of my cousins. Was I disgusted! I show her something and she shows me nothing. I come from a family of boys and had absolutely no inkling about girls that first time.

Oh yes, your picture. Likey.
Ginnie Hart: LOL, Louis. What a great story!!! grin

And thanks for the compliment. smile

A perfect moment in time smile
Ginnie Hart: The funny thing is, Cherry, that they stand like this for minutes at a time, so it's very easy to capture the moment. smile But thanks anyway.
That is excellent, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
