we used to do that with our rubber boots when i was a kid Ginnie...
these are much more colourful... i like your selective colour treatment....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: I love what the Dutch do creatively with their wooden shoes, Peter! smile Thanks.
I would not mind owning a pair. I take a size 11...
Ginnie Hart: I suppose your feet would fit into one pair of them, Larry! smile

Well if you met four Dutchpersons without shoes you could direct them where to go..
Ginnie Hart: This is true, Chris! smile

Great shot and I can tell that one pair really is almost 'to the bone'. Yep, for every occasion we dress up smile
Love the selective colouring.
Ginnie Hart: Almost to the bone! HA! That's a great expression for wooden shoes. smile It did seem to cry for select coloring (but, you know me). Thanks.

Haha- you become more and more Dutch, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: I hope so, Philine! grin Btw, we go to get my "for life" staying permit in Rijswijk today. We'll also look at the tulip field while there.

What's a "boonie", Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: HA! Out in the sticks, in the middle of nowhere, Lisl. grin
Lovely!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Maja, for stopping by and commenting here.
Great capture Ginnie! I quite like the red ones.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Richard. The red ones stick out like a sore thumb. smile

I can cope with this Monday; I'm still on holiday. Reality returns tomorrow, though sad Looks like these have seen plenty of use. I wonder what is the significance of the red pair?
Ginnie Hart: All dressed up and nowhere to go, Alan! Actually, those are dark orange shoes and are used for special occasions, like national events or soccer games to show your support. smile
Which pair is yours? wink
Ginnie Hart: Mine are already dry, LC, and are on the back porch. smile

Ginnie Hart: It's fun, JP, isn't it! smile
That's a novel way to dry your shoes. Good one.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Mary. Leave it to the Dutch. smile

Ginnie Hart: I really know how lucky I am, Elaine, trust me!!! smile
Love these and even more so that they were just out in the boonies!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Robin. The joy of the boonies is that both of us love it there!!! smile

Great. There is this anecdote of when my sister-in-law (still early teens, then) used one of her mother's clogs to keep her bait worms - a keen fisher woman she was. Then mother put her foot in that clog without looking first ...
Ginnie Hart: Oops! That would be a story to tell...over and over again! grin Thanks for sharing, Louis.
Aren't they just fantastic.
Ginnie Hart: I'm a glutton for them, Brian, as you know. smile
belle idée de sechoir!! compo extra!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Makes sense to me, JP. smile

Magnifique désaturation partielle
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Sabrina. I couldn't resist. smile
I like how the shoes really stand out in your image.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Jacquelyn. There's just something about the Dutch wooden shoes! smile
That is excellent processing.
Ginnie Hart: Most kind of you, Michael. Thanks.
Delightful Lady P smile
Ginnie Hart: Speaking of Lady P, Bill, this really does remind me of something she'd do. smile
The color selection's quite thoughtful Ginnie... I wonder if the yellow ones are three pairs or different shoes altogether... smile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Sudipto. I think these are all pairs. Astrid says the red-orange ones are for special celebrations/events. smile
they are very well used, Ginnie. sensible way to park them after being used.
Ginnie Hart: Makes sense to me, Ayush! smile

Those red clogs seem to have (angry) faces. I looks like they are lining up the yellow clogs for a march to who knows where...
Ginnie Hart: Those orange-red clogs are celebration/big-event clogs, like for soccer games to show your Dutch support, Cherry. I suppose in some instances they WOULD seem very angry. HA!
Great treatment.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Hollie.
I love the coloring in this, Ginnie!! What a great find!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Elizabeth. No matter where we go here in this wee country, there are always treasures to find!
