Ha Ha

Ginnie does "upskirt"!
Ginnie Hart: One of the joys of "always looking up" is that you never know what you might see, Ray!!! grin

is that guy about to jump to his death? lol
Ginnie Hart: Not to worry, Elaine. He'll be a sentry up there till kingdom come, making sure the rest of us mind our 'p's' and 'q's'. smile
the pigeon is enjoying the view as well Ginnie....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: The pigeon understands the role of "sentry," Peter. smile
Looking up gives surprises sometimes...Well seen Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: That's my motto, Richard, as you know: Always look up. smile

The Cheese Museum eh Ginnie - gotta go there someday!
Ginnie Hart: We were there on a Sunday, Chris, so it wasn't open. The main tourist attraction in front of the museum starts in April and for every Friday during the season, late morning, the cheese market shenanigans happen. I was there years ago and have never forgotten it.

a very wise word - and a nice perspective -but I cannot find any connection with cheese? Starting the auction, the public sale as I could experience in Gouda?
Ginnie Hart: I think the weigh house and the cheese museum have become meshed together over time, Philine, though why there would be a Roman centurion there, who knows??? This part of the building overlooks the shenanigans of the tourist show of the cheese market every Friday morning in season.

I love that pigeon up there to be his companion...
A great view and a great composition That blue sky does help the picture.
The building is from 1390 and was a shelter for the poor and travelers....
In 1582 it was rebuild and got the right of being a Weigh-House.

Ginnie Hart: Nothing about this makes you think of cheese but I guess this is what happens over time when history has a mind of its own. Thank you, MLMA, for the extra info and link, as always.

Have a nice Wednesday.

A spring day
Ginnie Hart: It rained all during the night last night, Oscar, which we really needed, so, yes, it's spring! YAY! Thank you.
I like the idea of a cheese museum Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: If it had been opened, we would have gone in, Bill!
Does he play his trumpet on the hour Ginnie?
Ginnie Hart: We didn't stay long enough to find out, Chad, but that would be brilliant!

Yes, and to blow your own trumpet, too! (No looking up his tunic wink )
Ginnie Hart: I guess he's Roman, Alan, and not Scottish?! grin
So what is worn under a kilt, Ginnie? I like the sentries pet bird too.
Ginnie Hart: And id the Scots take after the Romans, Mary, or vice versa? That's the question. smile
Good job its not a Scotsman!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly what I was thinking, Martin. smile
What? How audacious?
No underwear?
And you showed us this obscene angle? Naughty G! ;p
Ginnie Hart: I figured you'd really appreciate this, LC. smile

I hope there were no Scotsmen about that day, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: If there were, Lisl, not a one stood up and took credit. smile
Once I read your reply to Chris it all clicked, I've seen film of the cheese business going on in the streets, you will have to go back when things are happening.
Ginnie Hart: I was there years ago, Brian, to see the show they put on for the tourists. Astrid was 10 when she last saw it, so we may want to go back one day for HER to see it again.
I like the pigeon up there keeping him company Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: I didn't even see him till I got this up on the big screen, Janet. That's one of the fun things about photography, right? smile
How cool! A cheese museum! Great capture!
Ginnie Hart: It's part of the weigh house, Robin, so it's kinda confusing when you're there. I'd never think of the cheese museum from this image. HA!
I see London,
I see France,
I see the trumpeter's
underpants!

What a fun shot, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: OMG. When was the last time I heard THAT ditty, Beverly?! LOL. Thanks for the memory.

Looks as if you had a lovely blue skied day, great POV
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Anne, the reason why we went that weekend was because Astrid found out the weather would be great...and it was! Grab it when you can. smile

You are right, I have never looked up a man's skirt before.
Ginnie Hart: Or, have you ever taken up perch high enough to say, "Oh, THAT'S what it looks like from up here!" smile

He seems to have a birds eye view of everything!!
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Cherry. You nailed it.
The pigeon is very careful not to look up.
Ginnie Hart: I think the pigeon knows I wasn't looking at him and therefore totally missed him altogether!

Ginnie Hart: Thanks, JP. smile
I have no idea there is a Cheese Museum in Alkmaar! What a beautiful image, Ginnie. I will take a look. I am based in Rotterdam but I am not Dutch smile I would love to visit the museum someday smile
Ginnie Hart: I'm not Dutch either, Indah, but am married to a Dutch lady. We live in Gorinchem, just 41 km east of Rotterdam. It's a small world after all!
