A perfect view smile
Ginnie Hart: It's known for that, Cherry! smile Thanks.
That is a lovely idyllic shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Michael. I have a feeling it's been photographed a gazillion times!

even if your field is a tiny island smile i concur
Ginnie Hart: It's maybe even more spectacular when it's your own island, Elaine?! smile
What a wonderful and peaceful island Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: And to think someone still lives in it, Richard! It may be the most photographed "home" in Alkmaar.

A peaceful picture to promote Monday, Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Big Sis. I don't have any problems with Mondays now that I'm retired but I do remember how it was sometimes hard to kick-start the new week after the weekend. smile

The moment we cornered the road and I saw the windmill I said; Molen van Piet. It is a landmark from my youth. Often we would come to Alkmaar. A fabulous portrait of the famous, and still working, windmill.
Ginnie Hart: Bedankt, MLMA. And to think a family lives in it on its own little island! I'm guessing it's the most famous and most photographed "home" in Alkmaar!

Don't remind me sad I'm still thinking of the last week's trip to the peak District. This a glorious shot, though; lots to enjoy.
Ginnie Hart: So many places to see and go back to, Alan, I know! (sigh)
Such clarity makes this great
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, kind sir.
Just like a postcard, G!
Stunning!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, LC. One of those long, narrow ones, right? smile
That's perfect because my theme for the week is fields. Gorgeous shot, Ginnie. Spring has certainly sprung there.
Ginnie Hart: Aha! Fields it is, Mary. Good one. And, yes, spring has sprung...and is still springing. smile

Now, to the left, the second street from the canal, you will find the house of my brother-in-law. Lovely shot of old Piet.
Ginnie Hart: Oh, wow! It's a small world after all! Thanks for the heads up, Louis. smile

Just beautiful! Looks so peaceful! Thanks for a great start to the week!

Isn't this just a great sign that Spring weather is finally here! It's been so grey out here in Toronto, but seeing these images are a great reminder nicer and sunnier weather is on the way!
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Emily. It's bound and determined to make it happen all over this part of our hemisphere! That's what I love about the changing seasons.
Another one of those wonderful windmills. and i note somebody actually lives in it.
Ginnie Hart: Apparently it's been in Piet's family for a long time, Brian. What a heritage!
