Couldn't Resist It

This past Sunday was a brilliant day for a nice hour's walk

along our citadel wall here in Gorinchem, NL.

Some of you have already seen this on Facebook,

but for the rest of you, here's me learning to climb stairs again

(at 6-weeks post knee-replacement surgery).

Love the rows of tress, Ginnie.

Well done...I can see jogging and cycling filling your idle minutes, soon!
Ginnie Hart: You would love this entire walk around our inner city, Ray, on the citadel wall. The trees in here are one of my favorite parts.

And guess what. I can finally cycle backwards on my exercise bike, so next up is cycling forwards! Then to infinity. HA!
A beautiful image! Truly a briliant day from the loks of it!

Congratulations on your accomplishment, Ginnie! I felt this video should have been set to the theme from Rocky! smile
Ginnie Hart: It really WAS a beautiful day, Elizabeth, and reminded me of how much I love where we live.

Next time I need a theme song for one of my videos, I'll contact you. BRILLIANT that you thought of Rocky!!! smile

It was a glorious day last Sunday.
I never get tired of our walk around the Citadel, each time it is different.
I am so proud of you, your determination to walk again has no limits.
Had to smile at Elizabeth suggestion about Rocky and so.... smile it is true.
Ginnie Hart: I told Elizabeth that I'll check with her the next time I need a song theme. HA! Actually, I can picture you coming up with that, too. smile

I NEVER tire of where we live in the inner city, so near the citadel wall. We are so very lucky! Thank you for being a partner in crime with me here.

i love the depth in this photo Ginnie... the walkers added to it...
it was fun watching you climb the steps... and remember the feeling of success when i was able to do that...
i also checked out some of your physiotherapy videos....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. You'd love where we live. I never take it for granted, seriously. Sunday was such an exhilarating day for me. We hope to do it at least once every week, assuming the weather permits. Good for the heart and soul!
Congratulations to you Ginnie! So glad to see that you are recovering quite well.
Beautiful perspective BTW.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Richard. smile
Good to see the knees are working. For me it's going down were the real pain begins.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Michael. And actually, you're so right...because it's harder to go down than to go up!!! It doesn't make sense but it's true.

Ginnie - in Ray's words, I am gobsmacked. How well you are doing. I won't be able to catch up with you when we meet!
Ginnie Hart: HA! You tickle me, Big Sister, because what you don't know is how quickly the fluid builds on the knee with exercise, after which I become quite stiff. I'm hoping to God it's not as bad when I see you in May!!! You'll aleways be able to run circles around me, I'm very sure!

Oh, I recall this nice walk- and I see you are very fit again to do this hour's walk - wonderful - and without any crutches - what a success!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, you were here, Philine, even though it wasn't a sunny day like this. I haven't used crutches now for maybe 3 weeks. It's hard to believe things really are progressing like this. I'm a very happy camper. Thank you.

I like the view here very much, especially with all the trees helpfully leaning the same way. .
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Alan. Those trees on the left of path are always leaning. It makes me smile every time. smile

A beautiful composition of this place by a sweet weather !!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Pat. We love where we live!
Love your photo of the walking area. And your video!!!! If you had not been looking down so intently, no one would know you were recovering from anything! You are doing great!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Mary. Actually, I can see the wobble. HA!
Hurray! Now you can climb the Great Wall of China. wink
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHAHAHA! Now THAT would be something, LC. grin

GREAT LINES and green color
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Helys, for stopping by again.
The trees look like they are glowing Ginnie. An uplifting sight this must have been for you on your trip out
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Janet. And to think it is almost outside our back door!
Even seeing just that short part of your walk I can see why you would enjoy doing it regularly. Your doing well with the knee, no stick either, well done, slowly but surely.
Ginnie Hart: We love our citadel walk, Brian. I can hardly wait to do the whole thing one of these days again (with good knees you can do it easily within an hour or 50 minutes, withour stopping).

A beautiful reward at the top of the steps smile
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, Cherry. And to think it's right at our back door!
So nice and peaceful.

Excellent work on the stair climbing!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Michael. It's a long row to hoe but I'm getting there! smile
This is stunning Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Ronky.

J'ai l'impression que le printemps arrive quand je vois cette photo Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: It was definitely that kind of day, Marie, in the low 40s F. Spring will be here before we know it (but we still haven't really had a hard enough winter yet...sigh).
this is a nice view point and good to see you doing so well
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ayush, and thank you. I'm a happy camper with my progress.

A hint of wobble (being unsure?), but the rest seems very much in order. Enjoy the freedom and absence of pain.
Ginnie Hart: Definitely a hint of wobble, Louis, though you'd be surprised how dancing every night is building up my stability! smile Thank you.
