Fabulous view of the carnival, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Ray. The after-math often says more of Carnaval (the Dutch spelling) than the party itself! smile
Glad it's over?
Ginnie Hart: To be honest, Michael, we didn't go this year until it was over! Now I wonder what I missed. grin
Fantastic color, Ginnie!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Elizabeth.

It keeps everybody busy.....Now they have to wait another 12 months.
Nice synopses of how some people view Carnival.......
Great shot.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, MLMA. Sometimes seeing the aftermath is better than the "show" itself, especially if you've already seen it before. smile

They know how to do it over there, and so so you, Ginnie. Well done!
Ginnie Hart: Yes, they do, Lisl...and thank you!

Oh, Ginnie, what did happen in Gorinchem? We are not in Dusseldorf, Cologne , Mainz, the top towns of Carnival - I'm glad to have been away over the Carnival weekend or -as we say -the 'three tolle Tage'. You could now be indulging in colours!
Ginnie Hart: Astrid and I didn't attend Carnaval this year, Philine. It's like once you've seen it, you've seen them all, right? But we did enjoy going out afterwards to our Greek restaurant and saw these remains. Sometines I think they are the best part of the show. smile

I would make them go back and clear their mess up Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I know, Chad. But I have a feeling someone else is glad they had a job that day!

These thrown objects are undoubtedly least well side of the carnival but you knew how to make a beautiful colored photo
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Marie. Sometimes this is the only side of Carnaval we see here because we don't always go (just 2 blocks away from where we live!). It's almost as fun to see the mess...since we don't have the beautiful masks you see!
colourful remains and gives the feel of the carnival smile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Joshi. And to think it happens every year! smile
You have to feel a bit sorry for the people who have to clear up the mess grin
Ginnie Hart: Well, unless it means they have a job for a change, Bill?

hehe, the remains of the day, lol that made me chuckle smile aren't you a clever boots? poor person that has to clean up the remains! i like the confetti tho, they should just pick up the cans smile
Ginnie Hart: Sometimes we avoid the actual parade (how many times do we need to see it???) and then "enjoy" the aftermath. smile I LOVE the confetti, to be honest. Better than all those beaded necklaces!

I'm surprised that you and Astrid hav made so much mess; I'm surprised at you wink I'm sure you enjoyed it, though; I bet it wa a lot of fun.
Ginnie Hart: We only went out after the parade, Alan, to be honest, on our way to our favorite Greek café. It took us through the center of all the action, after the fact. smile
Fabulous colours of the beer drinkers corner Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Thank, Richard. This was hard to miss! smile
Great for the photographer and oh., what a headache for the cleaners.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Mary. Thank goodness it's only once a year!

A good time spent during the carnival !!
here reminds me of the state of the streets in Holland after the first of the year !! Yippee
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes, January 1st also gets in on the act! HA!
Game over?
But it ain't over till the fat lady sings!? wink
You know, I used to love this song so much back in Malaysia.
It's "It Ain't Over Till It's Over" by Lenny Kravitz.
Ginnie Hart: It's definitely not over till it's over...and probably more politically correct?! smile
I really like your processing here Ginnie, but what I like even more is the Jupiler cans, my favourite beer from the near Europe and it doesn't seem possible to buy it anywhere over here!!!
Ginnie Hart: Thank you kindly, Brian. I had never even heard of Juliper beer till I moved here! smile
Looks like a fun time was had by all! Thanks for sharing what happens in "your" city! smile
Ginnie Hart: Based on the aftermath, Robin, I do believe a fun time was had by all. smile I love sharing my city with you!

Looks like a good time was had by all
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed you, Anne. smile
Yes the party's over but I like your colourful take on it Ginnie
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Janet. Sometimes the dregs are all we're left to sample. smile
Very colourful smile

I wouldn't like the job of clearing that lot up ;-)
Ginnie Hart: It was all cleaned up a day or two later, Cherry. Gorinchem does a good job!
Do they sweep or vacuum up the confetti? I can't believe you live so close to this celebration. It must be fun when you're up for it.
Ginnie Hart: My guess is they use the street cleaners, Jacquelyn, to scoop everything together and then vacuum it up? I wouldn't mind that job. smile
That is excellent. You must have enjoyed a great party. Did you dance the night away and give your leg a good work out?
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, Michael, we didn't even go to the parade this year, if that tells you anything. smile We only walked to our favorite Greek restaurant and walked through the remains of the day.
Now that's a great shot of the morning after the night before Ginnie... i like your twiddling....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Peter, this is late afternoon of the same day! Thanks. smile
