Happy Anniversary, M'Lady

Five years ago tomorrow Lady P and I were legally married here in the Netherlands!

My home state of Georgia, USA, still does not recognize it.  But maybe this year, in 2015?

Say it with tu-lips.

Happy Anniversary.

I am still waiting for my son to marry is partner. I call his partner my son-in-law anyway but I wish they would make it official.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Michael. I don't care what anyone else says, making it "official" makes all the difference in the world. I hope for the best for your son and SIL!

Change is coming, Ginnie, but sometimes it crawls...
Ginnie Hart: It crawled for so long, Ray, but now seems to be a force that can't be stopped. One by one they're all "dropping." My guess is 2015 WILL be the year for country-wide marriage equality. Finally. And in my lifetime.
Happy 5th Anniversary to you and Astrid... and all the best for the years ahead Ginnie....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Peter. We both hope for many more years to come, especially once Astrid is retired!
i think in georgia you are still supposed to swoon before your men in big bustley skirts smile this is a gorgeous picture and i happen to love tulips, esp the light cremey pink ones! happy anniversary you two!
Ginnie Hart: You're not too far off base, Elaine, re Georgia, I'm afraid. But what astounds me is that ALABAMA is ahead of Georgia on this issue. ALABAMA???? Something is very wrong with that picture. (sigh) Anyway, thanks for the anniversary wishes.

smile 5 years, time flies and Happy Anniversary, tomorrow we will celebrate in style.
Love this picture taken at one of our favorite restaurants.
One day soon they have to recognize marriage.
Ginnie Hart: It's a milestone for us, MLMA...FIVE years. How is it possible...and yet we have done enough in 5 years that some don't experience in a lifetime! It makes you wonder what the next 5 years will be like. smile

I still can't believe Alabama has beat out Georgia on marriage equality...but I do believe it will be this year, sooner than later.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you and thank you, Elizabeth. I think each one of us goes before someone else in Life to be an inspiration and encouragement. If we can be that for someone else, it just doubles the pleasure.

And what a math genius you are. I like that: 2 x 5 = 10. smile

If it happens in 2015, as you envisage, there will be a lot of very happy people. Happy Anniversary to you both tomorrow
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Lisl. And yes, I do believe 2015 will be THE year when the entire country will finally have marriage equality for all. 70% of Americans live in a jurisdiction where same-sex couples can legally marry...in 36 states now. It's gonna happen....finally.

Five years ago - I can hardly believe it - time is flying by in the wink of an eye - Happy Anniversary for you both - I love the expression 'Tu- lips' and your image!
Ginnie Hart: And to think we have packed so much into those 5 years, Philine!!! We feel so very "rich" in our short life together. smile Thank you.
Happy Anniversary to both of you for tomorrow Ginnie! Changes always take such a long time...
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Richard. I remember often saying (years ago) that I'd love to see it happen in my lifetime. Once the ball started rolling, it started happening very quickly. That's the good news!

I thought that there was some sort of legal action going to on to bring all the states into line? Happy 4 years 364 days Anniversary smile (It will be difficult to find a card to make that event smile ). Best wishes to you and Astrid.
Ginnie Hart: The Federal court is leaving it up to the individual states, Alan, but one by one, they'll all "falling" like dominoes. It should be a done deal this year, I'm guessing, based on how quickly it's been moving elsewhere. YAY. And thank you.

Happy anniversary, Dear Ones. I think we all remember the day and was as excited as you were. Have a great celebration.
Ginnie Hart: We had such a strong community to root us on, Mary. We'll never forget it. Thank you.

Georgia in 2015? Not sure, G. Give it another 10 years, perhaps? wink

Go West, say San Francisco, life is better there. But be sure you wear a tulip in your hair. grin
Ginnie Hart: I remember wondering if I'd ever see many things in my lifetime, LC. I have been shocked by how quickly things have finally started to roll along! YAY.
