"Now, John, Dear!"

That was our joke whenever we saw a John Deere tractor/logo while growing up.

I worked on a ranch when I was a kid and they had an antique John Deere affectionately called a Popping Johnny.
Ginnie Hart: Now that's a new one for me, Michael! I'll have to remember that. smile
I guess you'd have to have grown up in the parts of the world were John Deere is ubiquitous. The product imagery certainly exudes a down-to-earth/but still corporate feel.
Ginnie Hart: Having grown up in Michigan, Michael, the John Deere tractors were everywhere. In fact, they've been around since 1837. I assume by now thy're known worldwide?!

The wooden wagon has my attention, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: Mine, too, Ray. Along with a good JD tractor, it'd be fit for a good hayride for this Halloween week! smile
Cute title Ginnie... do they give you a free camp chair if you buy a tractorsmile
....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Peter, and I should hope so! smile

Great eye and I can imagine that they made a joke about the name. But I think that 'John Dear'....is laughing all the way to the bank smile
Great greens here.
Ginnie Hart: Green upon green, and, YES, "John Dear" is laughing all the way to the bank, for sure. smile

These seats are a wonderful invention, lightweight & cheap
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Chris, and a good advert vehicle!

John Deere matched these seats with the colors of his agricultural machines. Nice idea !
Ginnie Hart: Yes, he did, Marie. One smart man, laughing all the way to the bank. smile

Don't you just hate sponsorship logos on utility stuff ...well I do ... Mind you I wouldn't mind a Porsche logo on my car.
Ginnie Hart: HA! Well, then. Some things we love to hate, I see, Richard. smile
A vast improvement on deck chairs! Like John Deere these things are everywhere!
Ginnie Hart: Good give-aways for advertisements, Bill, right?!

Hahah!! You've already seen that I had a good view of a John Deere dealership from my hotel room in Durango. I would enjoy those seats for a while.
Ginnie Hart: I thought of you the minute I saw these chairs, Alan! smile
An uncle of mine was John Deere's agent in Madagascar Ginnie! The wagon is a beauty.
Ginnie Hart: See. He's everywhere, Richard! I knew it. smile

The quiet life with John Deer!
Ginnie Hart: Oh, yes. grin
I guess Ferguson is more common in the UK - not a name one can pun on!
Ginnie Hart: Hmmmm. Lucky us, then, Tom. smile
I've heard of company cars and so forth but never company camping chairs smile
Ginnie Hart: These chairs are big give-aways in America, Brian, so companies get in on the act. Good advertising.
Those chidhood memories do stick don't they. I like the bright and cheerful wheel hubs
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, Janet. The things we used to say...and do! smile

I like the combination of green and yellow very much!
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Philine. It's a good color combination, isn't it!
That's funny! Great capture!
Ginnie Hart: The things we used to say and do, Robin...right?! smile
