Ah I remember these too! Love your angle on this shot!
Ginnie Hart: When you lifted up the top, you could hide all kinds of treasures, Elizabeth. smile Thanks.

Barbra Streisand sang that wonderful song....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: I bet Barbra remembers these, too, Peter. smile

Are we getting old, I do remember this desk, later we got one with the inkwell in the top....
Time flies, and now kids get born with an iPad in their hands and can hardly write sad
Absolute wonderful picture, love the colours and the point of view.
Ginnie Hart: I'm afraid we ARE gettin "old," MLMA. (sigh) But then, why not. We have so many stories to tell. smile Hartstikke bedankt.

A photo which returns me to my childhood, we had small desks as that one when I went to the school there is a very long time.
Ginnie Hart: I think we're all remembering desks like this, Marie. I think we have lots of stories to tell. smile

shoot i missed those desks, they look comfier than the stupid desks that got up with you if you got up too fast smile this is a really great picture, i'm sorry i can't explain why, but trust me, it's great
Ginnie Hart: You're very kind, Elaine. Thank you. The fun thing about these desks was that you could lift the top and put your books and all kinds of treasures inside. Of course, you hoped the teacher would never check after hours. smile

You didn't have a slate, Ginnie!?
Ginnie Hart: Actually, Lisl, I'm trying to remember if I had a slate or not. That would also mean chalk and an eraser, of course. smile
I never had a slate! We had pens that you dipped into an inkwell....being left handed they were almost impossible to use
Ginnie Hart: Some things I remember, Bill, but some things, like slates, I don't. It really WAS a long time ago. HA!
You bring back great memories in my mind Ginnie! Thank you.
Ginnie Hart: I think too many of us are remembering the good, ol' days, Richard. grin

Oh yes, I also had a desk like this but not a slate; we had paper!I rose t othe giddy heights of being in charge of filling the inkwells smile
Ginnie Hart: Now that you mention it, we had paper, too, Alan. So I guess that means I didn't use slate in my day. smile YAY for you to be in charge of the inkwells. I do hope you behaved yourself while dispensing the ink! HA!

un retour de plus d'un 1/2 siècle en arrière
JP
Ginnie Hart: Yes, indeed, JP. We have aged well! grin
Yes ours were something like this with ink wells
Ginnie Hart: I think we're all remembering this very well, Janet! smile
Yes we did but slates were past when I was in school.
Ginnie Hart: Now that everyone is mentioning it, I think slates were past for us, too, Mary. I do remember using lined paper for learning the alphabet!
Lovely shot, Ginnie.
I think Bill means he had a quill to dip in the inkwell.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Pauline, and LOL at the quill. I'm sure that's what he used. grin
Love the 'teacher's angle' grin And great processing, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: HA! Thanks, Martin. smile
You are lucky. In my schools we had these horrid desk-and-chair combos that squeezed the life out of you...
Ginnie Hart: Yikes. That's no fun for learning, Larry. I guess we WERE lucky.
This reminds me of that old song 'I remember it well' because I sat in a desk like that at infants school, except mine had an inkwell.
Ginnie Hart: I think most of us remember inkwells and no slates, Brian. I think we're all aging ourselves. smile
Oh how I love those old desks!
Ginnie Hart: Me, too, Robin. smile I especially loved being able to lift the top and store treasures inside. smile

Right! The way for the salvation of humanity is education and respect
Ginnie Hart: Preach it, Brother!
That's very advanced compared with my primary school days smile
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHAHAHA! Tell us about it, Tom.
Aw, you can't be old enough for those desks.

That is a gorgeous hsot.
Ginnie Hart: You can fool some of the people some of the time, Michael, as you know....! smile

Un temps passé et lointain dirons certains.
Ginnie Hart: A time some of us actually remember, Sabrina. smile
nice angle and very suitable treatment for this nostalgic shot
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Ayush.
Love this image, Ginnie. I do remember desks like these and my Fun With Dick & Jane reader. Only wish I had saved them to pass along to my grandsons.
Ginnie Hart: Dick, Jane and Sally...and Spot the dog! Oh, my. How could I forget!
