photoblog image The Country Fair

The Country Fair

In my grandson's 14 years, this was our 12th time to attend.

THIS is why we always go back to America in October.

(at the Cumming Country Fair in Georgia, USA)

See Astrid's image today here.

Great shot, Ginnie, it really conveys the atmosphere of the fair.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Frank. The Ferris wheel is the iconic image of the fair for me!

What beautiful colours in the sky and and an unusual ferris wheel, too. My heart is still in the USA.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, Alan. For me the ferris wheel is THE iconic ride of the fair, which I love. I never grow too old for any of it! smile So, your heart is still here. Hmmmmmm.
Stunning shot, Ginnie. Such wonderful colours.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks a million, Pauline.

What a glorious end of the day. And the young man is growing. Although an awkward age - do you think there could be a picture?

I must say that the people one 'meet' on SC (some even get married) is a reason to remain involved. I think Nicholas was 7 or so, when I first saw a pic of him. You may remember Fokus a gifted 16 year old from Brazil. He is completing his degree this year, his sister Ana (Ontheroad) got married and has a kid, second one on the way -yes I still have contact with them, in an on and off way.
Ginnie Hart: I have 3 collages of Nicholas thus far, Louis, so maybe I'll send them to you in an email. I hope I don't forget! I love how we get nto know each other here. It's wonderful...and unique, maybe?
Great shot, Ginnie - did you take a ride?
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Tom, but, No, we only rode the skylift and then Nicholas and his school buddy went off to ride the rides. Astrid and I walked around the entire fair taking pictures! smile
You and Astrid have outdone yourselves with these incredible sunset images, Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: That's very kind of you, Beverly. Thank you.
Excellent picture Ginnie. I guess these days it's Grandson taking Grannie for a ride on this, not the other way round.
Ginnie Hart: Well, this year Nicholas had a school buddy with him for the first time, so the two of them went off on their own, except for supper and homemade ice cream at the end. Astrid and I spent the rest of the time walking around and taking pictures. smile

Ginnie Hart: That's a good way of putting it, Olivier!
Il y a une belle vue la haut.

There is that gorgeous sky that is a big part of Astrid's shot.

Nostalgic image. Also that looks like an easy ride to fall off.
Ginnie Hart: One of the most iconic fair rides ever, Michael, and not really easy to fall off of unless you have a death wish?

That sunset! SF's coined a saying "Orange October" thanks to our orange and black Giants baseball...but I think you deserve it, too!!
