If that was pea&ham soup, Ginnie, then I would be licking the plate clean.
Ginnie Hart: I think Chris already beat you, Ray! smile
Well that must have been really really good!!!
Ginnie Hart: HA! These reenactments (in open-air museums) always tickle me to death, Robin! smile
I'm sure Chris will be delighted with your post GInnie.
... ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS ... ...
Ginnie Hart: I hope so, Jacquelyn. Birthdays are so fun. smile Thanks.

It looks we just had supper in my grandma's kitchen.
Stamppot... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stamppot
Great shot.
smile Happy Birthday Chris smile
Ginnie Hart: And everyone obviously loved it, MLMA! smile
I love the "angiquey" feel to this, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: Even though we don't always admit it, Elizabeth, that's how some of us are feeling these days. smile
this exactly the way i eat when i'm cooking !grin
Ginnie Hart: HA! Nothing better than licking the platter clean, Ayush. smile

What for a wonderful museum with all the antic things! If you have read Chad's Memoirs, you know a bit the way Chris was in his childhood and youth ... Lol at your reply on Mr. Basu's comment! (I recall licking ...)
Ginnie Hart: It's the best open-air museum I've ever visited, Philine...definitely worth a visit. And yes, still to this day Astrid can attest to my licking at least the serving spoon clean. smile

Thank you Ginnie: I'll have a couple of pancakes for onbijt then, followed by a cup of coffee and a stiff walk around the harbour..
Ginnie Hart: They're be waiting for you when you return soon, Chris! smile Happy Birthday again.
is Chris that old Ginnie... great composition....petersmile
Ginnie Hart: As you know by now, Peter, most of us are "that" old. smile
Needles to say I had forgotten it is his birthday.....that's the trouble when people aren't on facebook!
Ginnie Hart: I was wondering about that, Bill. I have it in my online calendar, too, which helps!

Eggs for breakfast certainly used to be the way to start the day.
Ginnie Hart: Yes, and for many, still!
Really a curious and interesting museum
Ginnie Hart: It's a wonderful reenactment of old-timey things and ways of living, Marie. It's the best I've ever seen. smile

It looks as if something delicious has been cooked in that pan Ginnie.
Ginnie Hart: I think so, Chad, especially since nothing is left of it. smile

Astrid's portraits of Chris are wonderful - and so typical!
Ginnie Hart: I know, Philine. I'll make sure she sees this.
So real! I can see some crumbs on the table!

You know what to get him for present? A bib! grin
Ginnie Hart: It's like it all just happened today, LC, right?! smile And I know Chris...he'll not mind wearing a bib at all.

I can remember you scraping out the cooking pot, Ginnie!
Ginnie Hart: HAHAHA! Oh, yes, Lisl. That still tickles Astrid to death. I have no shame. smile
A fine old days image Ginnie.
Happy Birthday to Chris!
Ginnie Hart: Many thanks, Richard. Sometimes it pays to remember from whence we've come. HA!

Looks like someone has come in and gobbled up one of the exhibits. I did learn from Philine that Sir Tiff is even older today wink
Ginnie Hart: We used to say "Another day older and deeper in debt," but thankfully, I don't believe this applies to Chris! smile
This reminds me of my grandmother's house.
Ginnie Hart: It's a very cozy feeling, isn't it, Mary!
I wonder what it was supposed to have been. I must say the Stamppot on Astrid's link sounds quite delicious.
Ginnie Hart: Whatever it was, it must have been good, Brian. Astrid once made Stamppot for me and I loved it. smile
belle composition!! amitiés
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, JP.
Ah...Happy days, Ginnie, I can relate to this. smile
Ginnie Hart: HA! I think a lot of us can, Frank. smile
That is a lovely shot. Great light.
Ginnie Hart: Many kind thanks, Michael.
le temps semble arrété.

Wonderful shot - the light brings out the beautiful simplicity of the scene.
Ginnie Hart: Thank you, dear Beth.
oh oh i think this is my fave pic EVER by you!!!!!!
Ginnie Hart: WOW, Lady. That's really saying something. (Are you sure you aren't just hungry right now??)
We'll wonder forever more what was being cooked.
Ginnie Hart: Exactly, Pauline...not that it matters anymore, but, you know.... smile
I wonder if a fresh plate is prepared daily and one of the staff is elected to polish it off. Whatever dish they've cooked seems to be a winner.
Ginnie Hart: There are houses where the people who come in at the right time actually sit down to eat whatever the lady has cooked. It's quite amazing. So far we've never entered at the right time. smile
Somebody's enjoyed something!
Ginnie Hart: Before you could say Jack Sprat, they licked the platter clean! smile

Nice detail.
Ginnie Hart: Thanks, Paule. I tried commenting again on your blog but had to be logged in. (sigh) But yes, we'll never forget 9/11. Never.
